This video format feels dreamy. I'm trying to think of why, it almost feels like a movie montage. the narration and video from the present cut into video from the past with your narration still going. It's lovely.
I actually quite like this video format where you talk then insert relevant clips, if you choose to do more of them I will not complain at all!! I admire your consistency with journaling and archiving. I have considered doing simple journaling as I have come to have a lot of memory issues so seeing you switch out your books gives me ideas on how I can go about it and what I can include.
I know you were a little stressed about putting all the pieces together for this video but I think it all came together SO well! So glad you enjoyed your time in NY ❤️🩹
as a new yorker, so glad you had a good time 🫶🏾 as someone who is relatively new to the planner community, i didn't know stationery fest was happening until my partner, her mom (who was visiting nyc for her birthday), and i came across it while in the area! it was a nice surprise lol
i enjoyed the format of this video thoroughly, i’m sorry you had such trouble with the upload and editing! i’m so glad to hear you had a good time in new york, it was so nice to see all you got up to and live vicariously through you! 🩷 take care megan :)
"Better to regret spending too much, than not spending enough" - wow this quote really resonated with me. I get a lot of spender's guilt and can never decide if I should spend the money on things I like because I either feel like I don't deserve it or I feel guilty at even the *prospect* of spending money. But I may just have to repeat this quote to myself. You're absolutely right. It's better to regret spending the money than to regret not getting the things we wanted. And if I regret the money spent so much that I don't want the items anymore, I can always return or sell or give away the items.
@@lilolith.hm I guess so. Must’ve misheard. Though I think there was a different timestamp where she said this. And without rewatching the whole video, I couldn’t find it though so I guess not. We hear what we want to hear I suppose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think the video pulled together great. It's always lovely to hear you speak as you flip through your books so I think the format works perfectly! p.s. love the little sticker diary you've started in the weeks. I just started a little sticker collage project in a field notes to have some fun using the stickers and things I don't typically reach for, and it's been a really good time :)
So happy you posted! i've been looking forward to hearing your experience in New York - I've always wanted to go there :) the layout of the video is brill, I'm happy with anything 😂
I always love hearing about the temperatures that people from the UK find hot in America. Where I live in California, we get up to 110 or 115 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, which is 43 to 46 degrees Celsius. 34 degrees is a pretty cool summer day right now, haha!
I know it was not the normal style but I really like the format of this video! and I'm also considering a trip to NYC so I might have to check out some of these places you mentioned, thanks for sharing :)
Mmm I’m craving a vacation nap in cold aircon in a dark hotel room, curtains pulled closed, after being out in the heat all day!! THE best. Then getting ready to go out at night!
omg the nightmare with your flight - almost the exact same thing happened to me at the beginning of the year!! Happened to me on the way back home though so I can only imagine how terrible it must have been to start your trip that way! glad the rest of the trip was amazing though
Hello from NYC :). This was a fun one to watch and see what you thought of Brooklyn! Van Leeuwen has dairy and vegan ice cream options - my favorite is the Earl Grey! It was also fun to listen to the small regional differences, like portion sizes and closing hours.
You're making me want to go back to visit Brooklyn! All of my recent NYC trips have been to different neighborhoods of Manhattan. There's so many amazing places in New York, it really is incredible. I'm glad you had a wonderful time, thank you for sharing all the details.
I'm from the US and when my family and I went to NZ we were SO EXCITED about having flat whites. my dad is forever missing being able to go to coffee shop and order a flat white haha
I was so happy to see your video...and the presentation was great! Very genuine and imparted the flavor of your trip. I only found your channel this weekend and did a marathon thru the vast majority of the videos. Also very glad to see you back in the Filofax -- I think that was a smart decision for you -- and also good news for me as after watching your and Lindsey Scribbles videos on Filofax this weekend I am starting to think may go that route also eventually. So are you ditching the idea of the Common Planner B6 and going with a Weeks instead?
I ordered the Weeks you were holding 😊 the Masamune Kusano x Junaida one. I feel like I have reached planner happiness because that is going to be my “going through life as a neurodivergent adult that is also a parent” book. But for my common placing and diary book I’m going back to a Leuchtturm I found and loved the colour, it is dots so it is good, because the grid one was too dark. I’ve discovered through the years that two books is my way to go. My big book of everything that I mostly keep at home and pour everything in, and my Hobonichi that goes with me everywhere and I don’t bother much on it being cute as it being functional. The past two years I was using the Day Free and it worked nicely, but at times it was too much or too little. So I had days of utter despair. But after really really sitting down and realising what I wanted and what I ACTUALLY need, I ended up deciding on the Weeks and for some reason I am super sure that is the right answer, I already know my layout and what needs to be put there - when I tell you I sat down and thought what I NEEDED over what I wanted, I mean it, took this whole year for me to figure it out but I did it. I tried to go and check the Sterling Ink books but I just couldn’t make sense of it and I was curious about seeing the planner you showed but is not listed or I didn’t look well enough… I gave up. Maybe for 2026 I will try again, but now it just made me anxious and I do not need that feeling to break the certainty I worked so hard to reach. I follow Kat too, she’s lovely. I saw her vlog and it made me very happy.
Omg now I am giggling alone because I just finally understood the name of the charms shop 😭 I’m from France, and last video I TRIED to understand the name but couldn’t and them you said green bean and just after haricot vert, and I was wow how did I missed it last video ?? X)) Well now I know ♡♡ Anyway as always your videos are so comforting to me it’s amazing, it’s like really soothing ?? ❤️🩹❤️🩹 so thank you for them 🥹 Sending love 🖤✨
Rings in a Hobonichi cover?! Hell yeah! I purchased this cute a6 polar bear cover. Literally bought an original techo just for it and I ended up not using the Techo at all.
I lived in the UK for 1.5 years and gosh, I didn't ever adjust to the early closing times (even in London!) I'm not a late-night person but I am a forgetful one who needs to be able to run to the shops at 9 PM. 😂
I’m sure that you’ve probably answered this like a million times but what do you use to print your images and photo copy your receipts? I just can’t find one that works for me😢 Love the video!
Dear Megan i watch Common Corner and wondering... do you sell stickers or stamps or page set-up formats somehow? I am 65 & had a stroke so i'm not the sharpest re: tech... i'd like to know how i can purchase what you offer? and how do i see what you offer? Many thanks to you Megan! kari fox🦊 in Victoria, BC Canada 🦇

You can just ask for a flat white most places I feel, it’s not popular so it’s usually not on the menu but you can get it.
