I got saved the beginning of freshmen year when my sister brought me to her church youth group( don't get me wrong i still went to church and loved God and believed Jesus was our savior and everything i just wasn't very active in my faith). Now i'm a sophomore in highschool and I still attend that youth group play bass for the worship team their, go to a small group for guys at that youth group and try to go to church every sunday and trying to just make more time for the Lord Jesus Christ AMEN

Jordanna Daly simple and repetitive is exactly what you need for true heart felt worship instead of a catchy tune with good beat. It's easier to focus on God and how truly praise him with the words you are saying and mean it. None of that was meant to sound condescending or like a rebuke, just truth. Worship transcends time or musical genres, so whether it's an older or more modern song, if you sing it from the right place of worship then it doesn't matter. Now, I'm not saying that I would have this blasting out the car stereo, or have it on while cleaning my garage or working out, but it's not that kind of song. It's a worship song. Different songs for different purposes.
