So many new Polly pockets make it so hard to fit everything in the compact and isn’t that the point? I actively avoid buying the sets with too much close it.
I didn't even know this existed until a couple of days ago, I wound up ordering it even though I don't collect Polly Pockets or the new(est) incarnation of Monster High. Overall I'd say it's a good set and (barely) worth the price, it has all of the important areas of Monster High in it, so you don't feel pressured to buy any additional sets (I have a strong feeling there won't be any, that this is a one and done deal) and you get 3 main characters (most modern Polly Pocket sets I've seen only come with 2 characters). I think the "tiny-ness" of the set works for and against it. The original Polly Pocket sets dealt with this by molding most things into the set itself, so all of the play features were still there but not extra pieces to be lost, you only had to worry about the dolls AND the sets folded up easily. These new ones have tons of pieces that are tiny (easily lost) and every lost piece hurts the play value. Actual kids will struggle, fumbling around the tiny pieces, probably losing at least a few of them and thus losing interest in the toy. Storage like you said will be a bit of a pain for kids as there is a real potential to break/damage something if pieces are not arranged correctly when folding up the toy. I'm personally happy with it but it does have definite flaws. The flaws are more inherent to the modern Polly Pocket sets and not just the Monster High set though.

It does feel like original Polly Pockets (from Blue Bird) were designed better.
I love it so much
