Thank you for uploading this to TH-cam. My parents and I can remember watching this in 1989. I have been searching for this on TH-cam for ages, and I am pleased to see it once again. Thank you.

It was from the start of this week in 1939, that the BBC Radio service then called the National Programme, and from 1st September 1939 became the Home Service started to air news bulletins before 6.00pm. Before this week, news bulletins did not air before 6.00pm on the BBC radio services in an agreement with the newspapers and unions. That was scrapped with the onset of war. At first there were just 2 extra news bulletins, at 10.30am and 1.00pm. From 1st September 1939, the BBC Home Service introduced a new schedule commencing with news at 7.00am every day.

The polish corridor exist since 1919, to give Poland access to the Baltic Sea.When Germany wanted to transport goods to East Prussia, she had to pay with the polish currency Sloty. There was a lack of Sloty during the world depression and the Polish threaten to block the railway. That is why the Germans asked for a german controlled railway through the corridor. The Polish refused. Why? To punish Hitler for the occupation of Bohemia and Moravia. Czechs lived here. (Germans lived in Austria). 3:10. Poland is ready for direct negotiations with Germany. Really? Great Britain and France guaranteed to defend Poland in the case of war. There was no necessity to negotiate.

+gyobfan22 It was BBC One's part of programming to commemorate the then 50th anniversary of the start of World War Two. These short bulletins were designed to reflect how news would cover it if television was as big back then in 1939 as it was in 1989 and now. The programme was broadcast after the Nine O'Clock News on BBC One on the actual dates mentioned as if it were happening in the here and now. They did a similar news bulletin week for D Day (1994 commemoration) and VE/VJ Day (1995 commemoration). Sue Lawley was the presenter for all bulletins. Hope this helps?
It was not 1939. The studio 'color' is far too different from the b/w field video reports. Color TV did not become available until 1960s. Color TV became popular in many major world cities only in mid-70s.
