- Highlights of the Matchbox Twenty concert including: All My Friends, How Far We've Come, Real World, Disease, If You're Gone, Parade, Bent, Back To Good, Long Day, 3AM & Push @mechanicsbankarena5637 in Bakersfield, CA on May 25, 2023. The concert was booked in 2019. It finally took place after 3 cancellations due to Covid 19. The band played a 2 hour set with a backup bassist Joe Ayoub from Los Angeles. He received the call the day before the show.
love seeing these 90s bands dust off their instruments and rock out like it's 1999. RESPECT, sound awesome

Still one of my favorite bands of all time. I wish I could make it to a concert, but life happens. I'm just glad that they're still doing well and making amazing music
I really hope you get to one day. I waited from 1996 until 2017, adolescence to adulthood😅 but didn't get to go last year, maybe next time for you, I hope.
I seen them in Arkansas this weekend, they are absolutely top of the line. Never better if anything they have improved!

Damn. I haven't seen Rob or the band in over 20 years. He looks like he takes care of himself. It's like time has stood still for him for quarter of a century. His looks and voice took me back to 97.

Rob Thomas is one of the most beautiful and sexiest singers ever ! I could set and stare at him all day long .I love his stage presence and that lil hop move he makes! Thank you Lord!

Rob Thomas has one of the most distinctive voices in the music business. Even when you can't see him you know who it is! Also, I don't know his brand of youth elixir, but I want some!
Yes! There is no one that remotely sounds like him. He's always been in his own lane which has contributed greatly to his and the band's success.

@9:15 Rob announced it was the release night for the new album, and he wasn't kidding! Within a few minutes of him saying this, my iPhone had an iTunes message pop up, saying the album I'd previously ordered (the week before) was now available for full download. Loving the new songs from MB20!

Yes thank you. My best friend and I had tickets in 2019. Then tragedy struck and she passed away in January. Love rob and matchbox and my friend Jeanne. 😢

I haven't seen Matchbox since they toured for their second album. We've got tickets to see them in a few weeks though. I'm excited.
Just saw them for the first time at Blossom music center in Cuyahoga falls Ohio. Absolutely the soundtrack of my life. I danced like no one was watching, cheered, cried and laughed all because my son knew what it would mean to me and bought me tickets for my mother's Day gift. It was everything!!!

My 23yr old daughter, who grew up listening to MB20... Very loudly, of course... 😂 got us tickets back at Xmas.
We always loved jamming out in the car and singing!

This is awesome. They are the epitome of "dad rock" and I love it. Also, never having heard of Bakersfield before, it sounds like a place for suburban dads too lol. The place was as diverse as the Friends cast back in 1995
Couldn’t help but laugh at “dad rock”! Heck, I’m a 62 y/o grandma so I guess there’s such a thing maybe as “grannie rock”?🤣🤣🤣🤣!!! I was a teenager in the 70’s so rock and roll is in my blood and I love love MB20’s version of rock. Music today just sucks so this is sooooo refreshing!!!!!

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at Bakersfield possibly being a place for "suburban dads." If you were to look it up it's frequently in the top 10 of lists for things like crime statistics, car thefts, drug problems, all kinds of terrible issues in California and even the rest of the US. I don't want to be negative really, I just found this kinda funny yet sad. I'm still glad people that live there did get to see such an awesome band though.

I saw them at The Holly Bowl 22 May (even though I live in Oceanside). I heard it rained for you. Man, I wish I had gone to both shows!
@@DarthSiGi yes! It started to rain halfway through,a first for me, and it somehow United the crowd it was so fun ❤️❤️highly recommend going to the open air venue if they come back it’s a beautiful spot for a concert

Missed this concert in WA - missed a lot of concerts during covid. :( Saw MB20 at their peak on early 2000s in San Jose. Very relaxed on this tour. 20 years will do that to you. So happy I saw them when I did - they were on fire!
How can I love a band as long as I've loved these guys and the intensity just gets stronger? I love them more than I ever did in the 90's and that's saying a lot. Thank you to whoever posted this.

Such beautiful music and song writing. Robert Thomas is truly a multi-talented individual. When he sings I just want to cry. It's too bad though with that Big Headed Man whose really blocking the view!! He stands out greatly from everyone else. I'm annoyed watching from my phone!! I'd really be annoyed had I been there behind him!! He knows too as he's looking and towering over everyone else!! GEEZE!!!😡
True but not many care about anyone around them anymore. In fact there was a group post about someone standing directly in front of someone for the entire show and the majority of the posters in the fan page group said it was all the guy's fault behind for sitting down.

What those folks really want is everything general admission and they can use their weight to dominate space and be a nuisance to everyone that's not them. But the venues don't do that. I don't go into a concert thinking I'm going to stand the entire time nor do I think I am going to sit the entire time. It's a happy medium. What I am saying is if everyone in the entire crowd or section for that matters is obliging by sitting down and you have 1 chump not willing to do so that is complete bs!

What row were you in? Great quality! This tour seems quite different than previous tours. I can't pinpoint exactly how though.

You’re welcome. I’ve listened to the new album and was a bit disappointed. It was too slow, songs are too short and didn’t showcase anything. It reminded me of a Rob Thomas show at a quiet Java House or an NPR lounge. Warm Blood is by far the best song.

I believe 4 are credited as original members "in" the band but a few are new or for whatever reason just don't choose to be credited. However, he introduces them all in the show as if they are in the band.
