@@cpb7115 do tell please. Not sure how you can be a fraud playing music. It is what it is. People dig it or not. Bob had no shortage of folks who enjoy his work
@@cpb7115Fraud to what? He's a founding member of the Dead, probably the oldest current touring band alive right now. He's been jamming and touring since the 60s... thats 6 decades, man. What possibly is he a fraud about?
Very nice guy 👌😍☮️ Bob weir at Kings castle he was in kingfish for the first time I met him what a great band my brother s band opend for them in Reno we s Sacramento boys Tesla's town too Bob is a amazing person and guitar player still sounds good and going strong like Willie 💪😷 ok Bob iis it Willie s secret I must start again if I make it out that break govt reg in Chicago nursing home briarplace help us somone
Wow this recording is amazing! I was not far away from the stage and couldn't hear anything out of Bob. Guitar comes through sooo much better on this. Thank you!!!
Bobby is singing a high falsetto harmony which you have to really pay attention to to hear. It's actually a really smart choice to accompany Dave's voice. But yeah, could be a bit louder still.
My girlfriend and I were the ones on acid at this show. We found this cool group of people around us and felt so connected and almost lost each other and then…Bob Weir shows up to play The Maker…it seems Bobby can always smell the acid in the air. And I could just feel how Bobby was the one we were all singing about “burning in the eyes of the maker”. Such a God figure. I love this man from the bottom of my heart. And Grateful Dead isn’t even top 5 bands in my list but DMB is.
I guess my question is for ChesterCopperpot5. Thanks for all these great shows. I've been a subsciber for about a minute and a half, so please forgive me for any rookie mistakes. In the opening credits the show is listed as 08/30/16 from Berkeley, CA. However, on your transcript page it's it's listed 18 years earlier at the United Center in Chicago, IL in '98. I'm pretty sure this show is less than six years old, rather than more than 23 years old. I'm assuming it's just a typographical error - or maybe I've misunderstood or misconstrued something; hence the disclaimer in an effort at self-inoculation. Afterall, I'm a neophyte here, but I 💘 love your stuff and have been attending shows si since before Apollo 11. BTW : Neil Armstrong (RIP) later admitted that he was a bit (understandably) nervous. What he said to most of 🌎 world that had television was : "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." It always bothered me bit, but I wasn't sure why (I'd just graduated - from elementary school 🏫!). Much later he said he regretted it, but besides all the other mission stuff, etc., he was speaking to people on every continent/in every country. What he intended to was : "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." It's amazing how much o one letter, the shortest word in the English language, and what one little indefinite arcticle means.
Kyle Kishbaugh yeah he motions for them to turn it up but it's hard to hear. He is singing in falsetto to harmonize, which matches great with Dave. That guitar solo though.. Nice, simple and melodic. Just nailed it! He does a great job throughout, singing a song that the Jerry Garcia Band used to cover as well. Check out Bob and Phil Lesh March 7th playing the song on their string of shows as a duo. You can hear Bob sing it himself, with a little back up from Teresa Williams. Bob always shines playing acoustic, and Larry Cambell steps in to play a wonderful solo. Can't wait to see Bob play Nov. 12th in DC :)
Bob is a cool old guy with the crazy mountain man snow-white mustache, but I don't think he knows the words to the song - that is why he is so timid a the mic- but is very good on the guitar
Speaking as someone who dont know dick about Bob Weir, he looks like he's having a rough time up there. Is he normally a good guitar player? Or just the GD singer?
Derek Valukis just got into him, monster on chords and inversions. Not saying he could hang with Joe Pass, but he's unlikely to struggle with anything in this style.
Watching in 2024 when time passes by like the wind enjoying the moment
Dave is the best! He believes in mentorship and gives so much respect and acknowledgement to those who paved the way and influenced music.
Couldn't believe my eyes when they brought Bob Weir out. Feel so lucky to have been there for this gem!
Wow.
would of fallen out of my chair
love to see the joy on Dave's face when playing with a legend
Watching in 2022 when the world is on fire.
Love seeing Dave so happy when he has guests with him up there..Bob is amazing, & sounds great!!
You are literally the fucking best, man. Thanks for bringing this stuff into our homes!
Bobby’s guitar on this is one of a kind masterful. Gosh it evokes so many emotions and memories deep in my heart

Absolutely legendary and amazing performance. Thank you!
Arguably the best lyrics ever written, real masterpiece!
I was there. Beautiful
That Jam could have just kept on going and going, loved every groove to it!! Think they could have played it all night, pretty special.
markuscooney found this song in 2019 such a good one , dave is the perfect guest for this song
Amazing! Thank God for good people and a good music family. Bless 🙏
Saw Dave open for the Dead in Vegas UNLV Stadium early 90's cant remember the year...exactly...lol
Is it just me, or is Bob look'n more and more like The Lorax? ....which is cool, cuz I've heard him speak for the trees before :)
Lol!!! :0)
I'm a teacher who has just written a school unit on the Lorax! Too funny...he does!!!!
Phillip G. That's so funny....now that's all I'll see when I look at Bobby!😝

Dave should do a all star tour next summer. Get all of the best artists who have joined them on stage through the years.
any reason given?
Wow this recording is amazing! I was not far away from the stage and couldn't hear anything out of Bob. Guitar comes through sooo much better on this. Thank you!!!
Bob's still chasing the music hard
Wonderful!!! Thanks always for all you do.

guy just keeps on going. amazing.

Beautiful
Carter often adds these high harmonies too. Absolute pleasure :)
When Jerry played this, falsetto was played by Gloria and Jackie. Good point mentioned above
I agree. Bobby thought so too. He tried to signal the sound guy at 1:17
i had to listen hard but good call on the falsetto. still a great injustice to Weir
I love the work you do copperpot! now you have Bob Weir on the maker. holy shit. anything is possible
OMFG!!!!! MY FAV OF ALL TIME!!!!
Thank you sir!

Dave was like a kid in a candy shop with him up there.

@@THPoppeJr Because he knows Bobby's volume was down and bearing it.

When you're a guest so you just go over and put yourself high up in the mix because you're Bob Weir.
ok we all know bobs still got his pipes so whats up was his mic having trouble or???

so sad you can't hear Bobby. Just like him not to hog the mic. Sign of a true musician who can harmonize. Love them both
Bob really sounds on lead here...
Really sounds good on lead...
Hey Chesty - do you have any footage from the night before 8.29 in Berkley? It was my first Dave concert, I would love to relive some of it! Much love

Lucky Dave
Nice...
What does Dave say at the very end?
Bob Weir..
is bobs mic even plugged in?
no way~!
to my buddy Alan, ain't this beautiful?
Tim's underwhelmed face @4:12
Carter 2:49 - 3:01 =(. Rarely makes these kinds of mistakes - awkward fill and then overplaying the fill
.

No Boyd.....seems so empty and void.
