In my opinion. Notorious B.I.G. & JAY-Z just complemented each other so well. What one didn't say, the other did in that Mafioso era of rhyme. Their approach felt like orders from the top, to the bottom of the family. They sounded like 2 bosses on the same page respecting the rules, lyrically speaking. They sounded committed to the songs. No man more powerful than the other. No egos.
AZ & NAS were the Goodfellas. Heads of their own separate crews that got money together on tracks but worked alone preferably. "Deadly & unpredictable."
