There's only a few BMW's worth looking after, an M1, 507, 3.0 CSL, 2002 Turbo, some pre-war's, an Isetta, maybe an E9, maybe an E30 M3 and E28 M5, but the 335d ain't one of them. It's just basic mass-produced transportation. You may as well throw a party with the money you were going to use to restore the car, a tequila hangover is better than throwing your money into restoring any other BMW.

i bought a 2009 335d in hawaii that the owner let run out of oil because the turbo oil line broke. Engine was locked solid and a rod thru the block. I frankensteined a motor using 1 rod and piston, crankshaft and block i bought on ebay. Swapped everything else over from the blown engine and last time i checked the new owner had put 40k miles on it and its still running. Love the M57's. The twin turbo, timing chain in the front ones i mean. Wouldn't want a 2011 with the chain in the back
Howzit, loved seeing you in Tyler’s videos over the years, but some reason I’ve never taken a look. Now I’m subscribed and hooked. Keep it going. Much love & aloha from Kailua Oahu,Hawaii….sadly no snow here 83*
Did 202K on mine and sold it running fine. Bob, the key is to deal with the terrible emissions system parts that break and are expensive from BMW (but if you DIY not bad: the SCR tank heater is a $100 VW part vs. a 2K Tank replacement). EGR delete, minor tune and 500-ft lbs with 38 MPH on the HWY. Giddy up :D

Hey Bob. Didnt know you had a channel (seen you on hoovies and others channels for many years) but now I found you and subscribed. Funny it happens to be just one of the cars I got, but I got a euro version since I am in euroland. It seems you got a bit short changed with the power , our euro spec has a few ponies more. Enviromental and fuel differences reasons, no doubt. Mine Is a coupe though, and I am trying to turn it into the fastest street legal diesel around the nurburgring, without sacrificing any streetability. No ripped out interior, no wild camber etc. I am even hoping to still keep the factory tow hitch on (what good is a diesel if you cant tow?), so I can tow my 6000lb boat behind it as well.....Yes, really. Can all the above really be done at the same time? Well.. I am currently not *that* far from it. Hopefully this summer the verdict will arrive.
I have one that just rolled 200k miles. Best daily driver i have ever owned. With proper maintenance and some "emissions weight reduction," i dont think you can find a better blend of efficiency, reliability, and fast.
I've owned 4 of them and currently have 3. Best daily drivers with a few important mods to improve reliability. One has about 265k, one with almost 200k, and the newest with about 70k. Never had a chance to take them in the snow. This week will likely change that. Based on the video, I will take the Ram!
I wish you and Becky’s channel lots of success and subscribers. How much did the red Volvo go for? Although listening to the BMW it sounds a little too muted. The engine sounds a little off, perhaps it’s just the snow absorbing the noise. Cheers
BMW get a bad rep but anything of theirs with a straight 6 petrol or diesel have been the most reliable cars I have ever owned. Stuff like alternators and starters go but that happens on all cars. I've never been able to figure out what causes their insatiable appetite for window regulators....
