This was a pleasant surprise. I feel like I didn't see much hype for Samplifire's Soul EP at all, which I really don't get. I feel like in that EP we saw Samplifire ascend from a respectable but relatively forgettable producer with a dirty style to something more unique and a name I would actually get excited to see on tracks. Soul sounded much 'cleaner' than most of his tracks, but still kept all the power of his sound design, making for a very high quality track. Invasion is an absolute gem that seamlessly mixes basses that make a lot of harmonic sense with basses that are so percussive they hardly even have a real pitch anymore, combined with an amazing atmosphere and a lot of voice lines that fit very well into the track. Phasing was the only one I didn't like, I thought while the main bass was interesting, it wasn't very effective at carrying a track; and I thought the decision to have the non-drop parts be rap was questionable, because I really don't think it fits well with this sort of experimental dubstep. Still, I have to admit that as far as experimental stuff I don't like goes, I still feel I can listen to it occassionally - which is good, because most of the time experimental stuff that doesn't stick ends up a trainwreck. It did have some very nice sci-fi-y sound effects in it too. and Duality has an extremely satisfying lower bass that comes on each hit that feels like it burns, those massive and complex wubs at the start of every few bars, as well as some very unique and squelchy sounds on the higher end. The squelchy stuff admittedly goes a little too far off pitch sometimes, and it can sound really annoying at points, but it still gives the track a lot of personality and I feel its lowpoints are salvaged by how good everything else is - especially the ending, I love the way the end sounds.
It was a dope EP. Duality was my fav because of the vocal chops and the final drop/ending piece was absolutely beyond genius. It was filthy, had great drums and also had this really melodic sound to it that made my brain explode. I still blast it on the regular

Wut is better in ur opinion remix or original?
remix
The og is god tierr
This is not 100% remix, I think this is VIP.
Edit* VIP is when original creator is remixing a tune
@Jose Alfredo Larrea Rojas Yes, I know. But here sounds are similar with original, but in another chain.
@Jose Alfredo Larrea Rojas there are cases where The original creators have decided to just say OG Artist - Title (OG Artist Remix) instead of doing (VIP)
VIP also could suggest a slight change (like the VR and BA vip ep last month) but sometimes vips aren't as subtle as that
