Roy was an amazing player. Remember a gig in Stockholm where Roys band went from straight ahead jazz into clubnight we wer astonished. The drummer looked kind of young and we where three guys heading up to him asking his age, poor guy….the RH factor was in my cd player for two years straight. Also remember transcribing BHG from th diamonds in the rough album somewhere in the 90s…..jazz was amazing in th 90s.

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I got into Roy's music about 3 weeks after he passed, so I never got to experience it while he was alive. If one musician was ever completely perfect, it was Roy Hargrove.

I found Roy Hargrove music just about 6 months ago. Very sad to hear he passed so young.

First time I heard Roy Hargrove play was at Blues Alley about 20 years ago. I am heartbroken. He was one of my favorites. Thank you for this tribute.
