So you used that sensor on the 2nd hole as your trigger wire for the relay? I am installing the AEM pump into my b6 I was curious about the wiring for a relay can I still use my factory harness with a relay?
@@steambuns2283 I turned the key to the on position and used a test light to verify. But before I did that, I looked up the wiring diagram for the fuel pump.
You could use the same gauge that comes with the pump but It wouldn’t hurt to go a size bigger. I purchased the same size for everything so that’s what i used for the pump. As long as the wire isn’t smaller than what’s supplied.
@@quickshiftmyk1695 gotcha.. ya, the more I asked around thats how most have done! I appreciate your responses! Just got my pump in now! Now to finish the wiring from the relay to the pump.. cant wait to load the base file and hear this baby sing again!! 🙌
Not unless you want your instrument cluster to melt down I tried wiring it to stock connections on my stk b5 s4 and melted down 3 $200 clusters so wire your 450 fuel pump the way this guy does it
@@domhammer1289 technically anything 340lph-525lph hellcat pumps should have the upgraded fuel pump wiring kit to give it all the power it could possibly need to provide you enough fuelling. Plus having new better fuel pump wiring is better than old fuel pump wiring unless it’s a newer vehicle than their fuel pump wiring is possibly sufficient for up too a 340 aem pump but on any car 15 years or older I’d definitely recommend it so you have the pump working at full operation not held back due to power and amperage draw as a big pump requires a better electrical system to deal with the higher amperage at higher duty cycle for the fuel system so the car has consistent fuelling without any pressure drop up top especially at wide open throttle

Miss u dude! What's up with a4
hey man, how would i know the wires for my ecu for that kind of pump?
You’re asking about the size (gauge) wires or power/trigger wire to activate the pump?

@@quickshiftmyk1695 thanks man. U got a new sub 🔥
How much amp of your relay?
40amp
Shouldn't the same gage wiring run all the way to the pump? Why bottle neck it? Sorry, just doesn't make sense to me

@@quickshiftmyk1695 Thanks for your reply! I get that.. but you have a bigger wire from the relay, spliced back to the factory wire..
@@bmorlok84 that’s not seeing much voltage to be an issue. It’s only getting it’s “key on” trigger signal to activate the relay/pump.
