Dartmouth Steam Railway steps into Christmas with the Christmas Train of Lights - 2023

A short trip to the English Riviera, for the Dartmouth Steam Railways ‘Christmas Train of Lights’. Hauled by resident Dart River Rail locos No. 75014 Braveheart & No. 4277 ‘Hercules’, the illuminations made 3 return trips from Paignton to Kingswear, stopping at an enchanted forest near Greenway Halt. The services looked full, with an equal amount of interest by the line side. Greenway Halt was suitable Christmassy, with reindeers and presents. There was no shortage of whistles in this film, as well as some good gradient bashing. Throughout the evening, shots were taken at:

Superb quality! Quite often I’ve seen films of these where the visuals have been distorted and terrible.
This was really sharp, well shot and the sounds from the engines are simply divine.

Thanks, it was a challenge to film, and overall I’m happy. There was a 6th shot, that didn’t feature (because a sudden gust of wind blew the tripod over!)
