No need to apologise, self filming is a task in itself from what I have seen, great story the entire way through, and you got your muley, food for the family that is most important.
Congrats on achieving your goal! As a good friend who targets booners always tells me “any deer with a bow if a good one!” I took my first mulie (first big game animal) with a bow last year on only my third day out on my first season. Much different from yours but in those 3 days many many lessons were learned. Archery sure is a whole different world.
No need to apologize for not getting it on film. In fact I think we emphasize filming a kill way too much. We’re hunting majestic wildlife that deserve respect. If their life means nothing more than to glorify ourself, and to make sure that the taking of their life gets filmed, then we’ve crossed over into another dimension of hunting that I don’t want to be a part of. I’m not against filming, but we’re hunting and when our opportunity comes we owe to the game we pursue to seize that opportunity film or no film.
Thanks Craig. I want to be clear though, I don’t film in order to glorify the kill. Not at all. I film my hunts so that I can share them with everyone wanting to watch. I believe sharing them spot lights hunting in a positive manner. In this day and age that’s extremely important. We have a large percentage of our population opposed to hunting for no reason other than how it makes them feel. We even members of the hunting community looking down on other portions of the hunting community for practices they may take part in..baiting for example. It’s so important that we do everything we can to keep this way of life going. Sharing the hunts I hope does this. Good luck out there!
