On this episode, Brian Lohnes pits two gasser-style drag racing cars against each other in a heads-up eighth-mile drag race. Built to the specs of the 1967 NHRA rule book, these cars are accurate representations of one of drag racing's most popular classes 50 years ago. With former Pro Mod world champion and legendary drag racer Quain Stott taking on up-and-comer Gabriel Burrell, it is a race between an upstart racer and an established veteran in unpredictable, historic cars.

I've seen these two racing in person, watched the falcon almost go into a wall but get straightened out and beat the guy beside him. Gassers are so fun to go watch.

Me too eh. I'm 12th generation Canadian. Cayuga Speedway (racing and dragging since 1966) is an hour away from my place here in Fort Erie. We have real horsepower here with a thoroughbred racetrack and we're getting a NASCAR Canadian Speedway soon here in Fort Erie as well. Keep an eye open for these. Peace brothers!

I hadn't watched any of this series yet - that is, until I saw the word "gasser".
That made me pay attention. Glad I did, too. It wouldn't bother me a bit if the entire series was like this episode.

This gasser madness has grown from a pair of cars match racing several years ago....
to the Southeast Gassers club of today. They now have a whole gasser show, with
3 classes and over 50 cars! A lot of us old folks remember the 50s and 60s and hoped
for a group that would recreate those days - the Southeast Gassers do that! WillyB

Love this show!!!! The explanation and breakdown of each run sets it apart from every other show on drag racing. I love it when I can learn something while watching wrinkle wall slicks work. Wish it was free though
