Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that my new book, Things That Matter, is finally here. I put my heart into it, and I can’t wait to share it with you. You can pick up a copy at www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/676394/things-that-matter-by-joshua-becker/
1. The three item to-do list 2. Exercise 3. Turn off your television 4. Practice gratitude daily 5. Write down something 6. Reset your kitchen every night 7. Eat together Inspiring content as always, Joshua.
1. Three item to do list - three most important task for the day 2. Exercise - physical activity is important 3. Turn off the television 4. Practice gratitude daily - a journal...a prayer...talking about what you're thankful for over dinner 5. Write something down - helps you become more observant - in a blog...on instagram, etc. 6. Reset your kitchen at night - i think it means clean your kitchen 7. Eat dinner together
Even if you live alone, make it a habit to set the table for yourself and not eat in front of the TV, or with an electronic device by your side. Use your best china. I eat all my meals at the dining room table set as if the Queen herself was coming over for lunch/dinner.
I eat alone in my room in an independant living facility, not through choice, but it just happened by unfortunate circumstances, l eat alone, in my room, due to a scolliosis problem l have. ( The chairs in the diningroom where most of the other residents in my building eat, are uncomfortable, abd cause ne pain, hence having to eat alone. Against your advice, l do watch T.V. while eating my " room service ' meal served once daily, at suppertime. Often l don't order from the menu, as l try to eat healthily, and the meal sometimes isn't heart healthy, so l try to keep my ( too tiny) fridge supplied with food . Suzi Q.
That's great. It took me a very long time to discover this,as I lived most of my life trying to please people. Now I am on my own I have to look after myself.
I always keep my kitchen clean, but I'd add resetting your bedroom every morning to it too. Make your bed and pick up clothes so your bedroom is clean and ready for the night.
You are so right Joshua! I started cleaning the garage 20 minutes a day (it was awful) now I can walk through it and be proud of all my work! I am so grateful for you!
The habit of writing daily can be through reading few lines from the Bible then choose the word that touches you then write a letter to God.. I started to write 1 sentence.. then 2 sentences .. then it became by time a conversation from heart. . where you can receive also God's loving response in your heart. . I've never thought to reach this when I started. . and even did not know it can happen. . But everyone on this earth can start just like this and find the endless God love waiting for him .. a way that no one of us can ever imagin. . Just start and keep going .. whenever missed a day never get upset.. just continue and you will see the results yourself and see how much God is very near.. Lastly, when you accidentally read an old letter to God years ago.. you will be astonished that realize that you already became living many of the spritual things you prayed for & God has responded very smoothly and no single prayer has passed without being listened to with great care by our father the Holy God. .
All the benefits you mentioned when you quit TV also began for me when I (the mom) completely quit alcohol. I used to wait all day for that first glass of wine. 4 years ago I stopped (very difficult) and my entire life changed and our family life. We do still watch TV as a family but I'm not downing wine now and to bed after, tired. We might play a board game after a show! Also, no hangovers.
Bathroom shower tip habit : Many years ago I became a bit frustrated by my shower growing mildew. Even with a vent fan on a timer it still needed more. After researching on youtube I found a tip about squeegeeing the walls off every day after your shower. The video said that at 1st this would be a chore but with time would become a habit. I purchased squeegee and gave it a shot. I had to think about it at 1st every time but many years later I simply can not step out of the shower now without doing my squeegee routine. ( When I travel it's a bit weird not doing it ) The 1st. steps of starting a new positive habit payed off completely. I know this idea of starting a new habit works. Try it in your shower. You'll see if you give it a chance.
I have a tub and shower combo with shower curtain. Squeege can't do the curved corners and ledges. Instead, I spray the surfaces, sink, and toilet bowl with a citric acid cleaner a few minutes before I start the shower, shower, and then wipe down the surfaces with a microfiber towel, wipe out the sink, the toilet seat and floor in front of the toilet, and give the bowl a brushing. I've got the whole job - prep, shower and grooming myself, and wiping the surfaces - down to 25 minutes or less.
I wasn't good at squeegeeing my shower nor were guests/roommates with other shower and cost me $$$$$ to have them redone. NOW it's a definite daily routine and all guests must do the same. The squeegees are hanging there along with the daily natural cleaner that you spray on. Now n then I use bottle of vinegar mixed with water for another natural non-chemical cleaner. They both look as new as when they were installed.
I do something similar with my bathroom sink. I’ve gotten in the habit of always wiping it down every single time I use it. It just takes a few seconds and now there’s no mineral deposits and every time I walk into the bathroom I’m greeted by a super clean and ✨ shiny ✨ faucet and sink. 😃
I'm an older person, I do most of these daily. I have outlived my family and have been single for decades. On Sundays I prepare a nice meal, sit at the table and stumble down memory lane. This meal usually gives me four or five additional meals that go into the freezer so I can pop them in the microwave and have a nice meal daily.
What a great idea! I too live alone now and will do more of this weekly prepping a big meal and dividing it up. And, no, it isn't particularly sad living alone. I have good friends and loving family and plenty of activities. Being in a crappy relationship with someone is much "lonelier" than being on ones own in a positive living situation.
I started a gratitude alarm in my phone, 4x/day. Whichever family members are with me, we all go around and say one thing we're grateful for. In two weeks I have noticed my heart and mind so much lighter and joyful.
This is awesome! Made me tear up 🥲 just thinking of who I might be with at the time and how I'll get to tell them on the spot what I'm grateful for--especially why I'm grateful for them! Resetting my heart and mind to a positive outlook throughout the day sounds so freeing! Thanks for sharing! 😊 Time to set some alarms!
I write a letter to my husband every day. He died in Feb and I find this helps.I also write a letter to God. It’s my way of praying. I’m bad at oral prayers. I make sure my sink is totally empty before bed. Drying it if I remember. Shiny sink in morn. I break down my chores into Days the way Mama did. Mon is dust and vac.Tue is laundry, Wednesday is windex, Thur is trash day and mopping. Friday is ironing or mending. I’m 79 so exercise always pulls something so I just move as much as I can. Never sitting for long.
Excellent advice! That is brilliant writing a letter to your husband and writing a letter to God. That is such an awesome way of being able to express yourself. I can imagine it brings you comfort doing that. I'm going to start doing the same! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Problem I have is not the television but the time I spend watching TH-cam videos; one after another one, after another one, after another one. It is ridiculous the amount of time I waste when I could be more productive in my life. Old habits are hard to break and I justify them by thinking, "well, I worked hard all my life so now that I'm retired, I can do anything I want." Wrong thinking 😩. Thank you, Mr. Becker, for your videos. They are an inspiration to me. Greetings from West Texas 🌞🌵🌻
What I do not to waste time, but still watch or hear videos: 1) watch video during running or biking session in the gym, 2) turn on video and do house chores, while listening to the video(^^♪
I don’t watch tv, so in my head I translated it to “scrolling your phone” which is what I do in my “dead time”. I need to find an activity for when I am tired/worn out that doesn’t make me feel worse but takes little effort. Any ideas?
I agree - I haven’t watched regular TV in years but I’m beginning to find You Tube much worse. Regular TV I might watch a few shows a night if that and a little news in the morning but You Tube sucks you in and it can also be way more toxic due to comments - I tell myself not to read the comments like on new blips but next thing I know I’m reading them and all worked up. Part of me wants to entirely filter out the news but the other part wants to stay somewhat informed. I liked when I’d just watch the morning or evening news and be done and I didn’t have access to every piece of news occurring in the world at my fingertips. I also don’t watch much streaming but when I do I spend way more time because you can just watch the next episode and the next and so on. With regular TV you had to wait until the next week or even Season!
simple habits that changed my life: - Eat breakfast. Always used to skip it. Now I don’t go without it, found it’s the ideal time for me to eat very healthy and get a lot of veggies in. Feel more energized for entire day and tend to eat healthier all day too! - Meditating daily after shower for at least 10-20 minutes. Made a world of difference in emotional regulation and self critical talk. It’s also made me more present in daily life. - Prayer. I am not religious but I find prayer is a great time to think of the ones you love and to say thanks. This is my gratitude practice I suppose. Feel a lot more appreciative of everything now.
Everytime we eat our evening meal, my husband + I click glasses + kiss + say thank you for this lovely dinner to whomever cooked it. We have been married 42 years + I'd marry him again tomorrow ❣️
Just watching this today and I realize I had already do some of these things and can attest to the benefits. One, I seriously cut down on my to do list and focus on my top three priorities. After I get that accomplished, everything else is just gravy. I stopped watching TV a few months ago. Really helped me do projects I had postponed, clean my house, and get more, better sleep. I prioritize exercise with my dog. I do write more but will text or email old friends just telling them I am thinking of them, and say something positive about them. This brightens my night and I hope theirs.
We have a beautiful little breakfast table alcove in our very small kitchen. I have 100’s of pictures of my husband sitting around this tiny table with our grandchildren or children or friends. In order to have a better functioning kitchen I’ve been considering taking this table out and putting in a long counter with stools but I felt that the little table had too much value for bonding through conversations. When you mentioned sitting across from each other at a table this rung true in my own heart and mind. Thank you for reinforcing this principle!
I have watched this video several times over the last few months. Picking one to work on each time from the video and when I circle-back hearing the reinforcement of why it’s helpful before adding on another habit. All are simple and ones we probably think we do “most” days but taking the time to practice really helps.
The habit from this list that is very beneficial to me is to reset the kitchen at night for breakfast. When I do this a peaceful beginning of my day is certain. 🕕 6:00 or earlier just before sunrise 🌅 is magical. I just “be”. I light a candle 🕯 in the dark. So good.
When I was working (for others) I’d usually go out every morning and set my watch for 15 minutes. Then start walking, and when the timer sounded, I’d turn around and head home. I felt I needed the fresh air and would not have the energy (or the “bandwidth“) later to enjoy, which was usually true. In plain fact, for different reasons, this still holds true. Now, as “commercially retired”, I start the various days just puttering in the kitchen. That often goes nowhere. I’m rather pouty about the road I usually walked on being taken over by Private school moms barging into my life, driving their kids to the school, a recent addition to the neighborhood, and heavily impacting my formerly relaxing time outdoors. I believe I could, and should research the time frame, and make a point to either go earlier or later. I have good reason to prefer earlier, since photos of my walk, with beautiful, dramatic morning light, have often been inspirational to my artwork/paintings. It seems to me, there’s still plenty of lovely country walks to experience. My bandwidth these days is impacted by other people, so I might as well still take the protective stance. Thanks for the list. My mind always works best with Multi-Modal learning and processing, so both Hearing your discussion and jotting down the list are useful! Best wishes from coastal New Hampshire!
Ditto! I have been yearning to keep a daily journal again. I do write a small todo list every night and love checking off the items the next day. And, I bullet journal what I do, who I spoke with, and other activities I attend to during the day, but am missing the reflection of journaling. Now, to find the 'perfect' notebook and pen:)
Joshua, I can honestly say I adhere to all 7 daily habits. I'm very organized, detailed, minimalist and make living a well balanced, quality life all around my top priority. Once you commence as such it just plays out so easily with your day. Being a finance guy for a profession played a key role I feel in playing a part in my being how I am today..
"Where your writing ends up means far less than the impact it has on you, personally." This is so important for me to hear. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I tend to get frustrated that no one is reading what I wrote. This is what I needed to hear. Awesome words of wisdom.
Love these tips, simple yet attainable. I chuckled when yoi talked about the kitchen rest being easier with less stuff! You had this little smirk when you said it like."I had to sneak it in there" I definitely could do with less stuff. We're planning on moving this year, 4 kids, house full of stuff....what an opportunity to declutter before we go! We're also starting homeschooling and moving from the city to an acreage, so let the adventures begin!!
Good luck! Here is a great motivator for you. Take the monthly amount you spend on smoking and put it into a retirement/investment calculator (at 8% per year rate of return) like this one www.ramseysolutions.com/retirement/investment-calculator You’ll be amazed at the amount smoking really costs you!
Write things down! Write things down and send letters to loved ones as in 'the old days'. I have been re-reading letters sent to me in the past by friends & family, some accompanied by real hand held photographs of family members. They are such a joy to have and to hold and such treasures from family and friends who have passed on. No phone/computer can ever replace the seeds these have planted xx.
I could never, ever get myself to do the dishes at night, despite years upon years of trying. Last year I switched to making coffee with a French press, which takes about 10 minutes to brew. I realized I could just do the dishes in the morning while the coffee is brewing -- and after 30+ years of failure, my kitchen is now basically always neat, clean, and functional. Doing the dishes is an easy, almost meditative task that's quite pleasant when you're mindful and unhurried about it. So, while I agree that it's a great habit to reset the kitchen every day, I disagree quite strongly about the need to do it in the evening. Just find a time every day that works for you.
Thats amazing that you’ve found what works!! I’ve been in a years-long process of trying to figure out what works for me, and having ADHD that I’ve found to be much more difficult to live with in adulthood vs childhood had led to a lot of stress and frustration while attempting to use tips and tricks offered by the experts. But, like you experienced, one method won’t work universally for us all-so thank you for giving me the reminder to explore different ways until I find what “clicks” for me! Also great motivation to not give up until you find a way!! Thank you for sharinh
@@Hmy8799 ah, yes, Club ADHD! I think that's why I struggled for so long -- by the end of the day I just don't have any gas in the tank to make myself do something that I have even a subtle resistance to doing, like the dishes. Another ADHD-friendly key to my current success is that it relies on timers: first, the beep of the kettle (not a specific time but about 3-4 minutes) when the hot water is ready; then 4 minutes for the initial brew; then 6 minutes for the post-stirring final brew. So even if I get off track, I'm constantly drawn back to the task. What I'm curious about now -- now that the habit is firmly established and the entire 15-minute behavior pattern is entrenched -- is whether I can MOVE the dishes habit to the evening and perhaps establish another habit during the coffee-making time. Is the friction for this task low enough now that I could put it in a low-energy time of day?? I don't know, but I'd like to try it.
The 3-item to do list is very attractive to me. I would like to feel that I accomplished enough by the end of the day, but when I look at the long list of things which need to be done, I usually feel that I haven't done enough to shorten the list. Three things is much more manageable. Many thanks for another great video!
Wow ! Surprised to see that I actually practice 6 of the 7 habits you suggested daily.... I'm still in the de-clutterng stage though.... with the end goal being to embrace minimalism. Your videos are simple, helpful and inspirational while I'm on the journey. Thank you Joshua.
Bless your sweet heart! What you suggest is so simple and constructive. Some of your suggestions-especially about tv, are spot on. My tv hasn’t really been on for 3yrs. I occasionally check it out but get so annoyed! We need to get back to a healthy basic life. We won’t be plowing fields most of us. But we can have an amazing herb garden-even on a windowsill. I especially am eliminating plastic-in my food purchases, shampoo, dish soap, laundry soap; my shampoo is from Foamie and comes in a delightful bar that hangs; laundry soap from TruEarth, dish soap I make from a recipe from Niamh from Fairyland Cottage (TH-cam). Choose your battles but strive each day to get rid of things that cause trash. Even in your relationships. 💕
Definitely great ideas! I think the first one is my worst! I always have a To-Do list a mile long. The others I am confident with. Eating together as a family, is crucial... my kids are 21 and 22 now and SO thankful we did this while we could!!!
I already do all of them. My to do-list can have fewer or more than three items, depending on the situation, but three is a pretty good goal and ends up being the overall average. I use my body every day, despite, or maybe because of, not planning any deliberate exercise. I don't have a TV, but I can become better at turning off the computer, and read, or play music, or something. I practice gratitude daily, and I write incessantly. I wipe down the counter and tidy up the kitchen at least every night. I'm in a one-person household, but my meals are my designated "me"-time, so I think it counts as "together as a family". Great speech, Joshua, one of your best (and they are already top notch).
These are great suggestions for anyone looking to live a better life. I am now adding them to my "new and improved" daily routine! Thank you for this video 😊❤️
Great tips Joshua! I exercise daily, never watch television because I hate ads. I don't have a family because I'm single so I can't 'eat together' with anybody. I've been living alone for decades. I don't actually eat dinner so I reset the kitchen by washing all the dishes from the day. 😁
Yes ! I do 15-20min exercise daily! No matter wat! It’s such a boost for my physical and mental health! Bonus I have bags of energy without feeling so tired either!! No 6 was spot on!
In listening to a number of your podcasts I am surprised at how much my wife & I have already embraced. We do use our best china, best cutlery and crystal on a daily basis even changing it up on a regular basis as we feel in the mood to do. We got rid of our TV 15 or so years ago and now spend quality time with each other playing board games and puzzles etc. every night. This has afforded us opportunities to enrich our lives with great conversations that would not have taken place otherwise! I have been in the habit for some time now of making a list of every little thing that needs repairing, painting or repurposing & checking it off when completed! Now to start giving away the STUFF to those who may have more need of it or can enjoy it as much or even more than we have. THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENTS AND GREAT SUGGESTIONS. JMG
Though I am unable to do the daily meal with family (my family is in another state and I am alone at the moment) I can occasionally "video dinner" with them. If there is a will there is usually a way.
Am a follower of yours and appreciate your videos so much. But...I have to remind myself that some days its hard just to survive for some people. Horrid fires in our area of California, homes being lost, unbelievable stress.
Just found your channel and enjoy it.As a widow, I miss my husband's perspective on things coming from a guy. Two of our 3 daughters and their husband's live far away and so I rarely get to talk to the men. Even my son in law who lives only 7 miles away with my 3rd daughter and their family they are extremely busy with their 4 kids and activities. My daughter and I get together each week, but Tim works odd hours etc so I miss talking to him.
Thank you Joshua. If on some days i fail to keep/fulfill my 7 daily habits, i shall keep trying and start over . I know that someday, i will become better at it. Have a great weekend!🙋♀️💞
Thanks for the great simple yet powerful life changing reminders 🙏💗 I start today. Give thanks and offer gratitude in bed as soon as I open my eyes Make up my bed Coffee n write my 3 to do list start day w some Exercise 1. 2. 3. Whisper a prayer of thanksgiving n gratitude for today. Shut eye.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. The habits certainly were not what I expected but I loved this. Very powerful. Meals together is a must and one we practice in our home..
I wish I had do overs with my kids. I loved fixing meals for them. I still love fixing meals for them. I long for them to come over and eat together with my grandkids 🙏🏻
I will forever appreciate this channel You've helped my family a lot, since the pandemic till now your advices and lessons are inspirational and helpful to us. My husband and I have been able to be minimal, conscious in spending, saving and lnve, sting wisely. We have able to earn on a weekly basis and it helps the family a lot. You're such a blessing to this generation. We all love♥️😊. I'm so happy to join you today too
Since my colleague introduced me to this channel, I've never missed a content and I'm happy and I'm proud of myself because I've learnt and taught my kids a lot. I'm happy for you dear keep it up👍
I too do most of these the most difficult is the kitchen.During this covoid season a gratitude journal daily and encouraging other nurses has been a game changer.
I have done this for a few years now as it is so lovely to come down in the morning to a tidy kitchen and start a new day rather than have to start clearing up yesterdays mess!
Wow! I’ve been doing most of these but the kitchen and journaling though am a list and a daily To Do maker. Gotta work on the kitchen and eating junk at night!!
I have to make myself realize that TH-cam is the same as watching TV. Sometimes I feel elite - like - "No, I hardly ever watch TV." Yet, I spent a fair amount of time on here. Thanks for these wonderful reminders!
Thank you very much for this thoughtful video that I enjoyed before I go on my crisp walk. Your wisdom is profound and far reaching to help the listener to care about ourselves and loved ones holistically, thanks again.
1. The 3 item to do list 2. Exercise 3. Turn off the TV 📺 4. Practice gratitude 5. Write something down 6. Reset (clean) your kitchen 7. Eat together ❤
Loved these tips. Thank you Joshua. I was aware and inconsistently (I am inspired to make them daily habits) doing many of these things however your video is motivating and very helpful, as are all of your videos.
I live alone, and I make it a point to cook and eat dinner on zoom with a friend at least once/week. I have several friends who do this with me, so if one person can't make it, I can set it up with someone else. It's easy to schedule - no travel time, figuring out which restaurant would meet our various covid concerns, can "eat with" friends who live far away, etc. It helps me and the other person prepare a healthy meal - we can ask each other things like what vegetable are you making, is that enough protein for you? And it's nice to be together while alone. It sounds contradictory, but it's actually a really nice experience, and we all feel our lives are enriched.
One aspect that helped me is to write down the time I have. Means I took a day where I had late shift and start working 2p.m. and gotta there about ten minutes before. I live pretty close to my work so anyway I counted that, as everyone, I have 24hours a day and want to sleep 8hours a day independent from the time I actually go to bed finally, so that leaves me with 16hours. Now, since I don't want to be late or in a rush, I act as if I would have to work already 1p.m. instead 2p.m. so that I basically know in my mind I can't do anything from 1p.m. on and that I will be back at home around 9p.m. usually, so that I cut out 8hours in total only for my regular day job. So 16-8 and I am left with 8hours of time. Now of cause I need to shower, eat food, say my prayers, wash clothes or do chores and so on and I cut out another 2 hours for basic daily things, which leaves me with 6hours time left. Now I am a more of a procrastinating person usually and enjoy my time outs doing stuff without sense like watching tv and some shows have 40 to 45min. length so that if I would watch all day tv within 6 to 12 shows my day would be over. Anyway so I downsize usually to one show if I gonna meet friends or be mostly outside and if at home I make it up to three hours maximum for shows, TH-cam and or games etc. that are not of any value, so that out of 6hours three hours are for relaxing use and 3hours are purely focused on productivity and getting things done. If you are aware of the numbers you know how short the day really is, but after all 3 hours every single day in just five days time adds up to 15hours of productivity in a week at least which is far better then just procrastinating and not starting anything because you don't know where to start since it seems overwhelming much tasks and to little time, so that you might decide to surrender and procrastinate the whole day. Someone once said: "Even if you can't do everything, you always can do something." I like that saying so much that I stick with it. Now I get far more done and see it visible and still am able to have timeouts independent how I set up my daily schedule. I could for example relax three hours in a row or do mix of 1 hour relaxing one to two hours of productivity and so on. After all I check that I keep each side balanced three to three. For the future, depending how my life adjust, I might use my time for more productivity and less relaxing time and/or I relax different. Either way the 24hours will always be the same and I adjust my life accordingly to it. What sticks is my 8hour sleep rule, because I don't function without 8hours of sleep properly. That's how I am as individual person and everyone is different. However I don't necessarily need 8hours in a row. For example I can sleep 2 hours after my work once I came home and the rest of the six hours the time at night before I want to get up on point and usually I wake up before the alarm clock can hit or simultaneously the same minute naturally. The important thing is that I got my 8hours of sleep within that 24hour period. Generally said my daily schedule is flexible when it comes to when to do what, but the amount of time I have for different things is fixed.
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that my new book, Things That Matter, is finally here. I put my heart into it, and I can’t wait to share it with you. You can pick up a copy at www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/676394/things-that-matter-by-joshua-becker/
You never watch television? Like never, never?
The kitchen reset is truly a good thing to do. There is nothing better than turning on the kitchen light to a clean shiny sink.
1. The three item to-do list
2. Exercise
3. Turn off your television
4. Practice gratitude daily
5. Write down something
6. Reset your kitchen every night

It's possible to combine the 3rd and 4th tips, I think and write down what you are grateful for.
Thank you for the summarised points. It makes me more focussed.
Thankyou
Thanks! 💕
1. Three item to do list

You rock!!
Thank you! :)
And make your bed
Thank you! 👍⚘
Even if you live alone, make it a habit to set the table for yourself and not eat in front of the TV, or with an electronic device by your side. Use your best china. I eat all my meals at the dining room table set as if the Queen herself was coming over for lunch/dinner.
That’s lovely.
Very lovely actually. I'm impressed. I'm gonna try this

Do you work?
That's great. It took me a very long time to discover this,as I lived most of my life trying to please people. Now I am on my own I have to look after myself.
I always keep my kitchen clean, but I'd add resetting your bedroom every morning to it too. Make your bed and pick up clothes so your bedroom is clean and ready for the night.
this habit helps me to feel in a good mood when I get back to my room at night :)
I’ve been using FlyLady method of Morning Routine and Evening Routine
It’s been helpful to me and is now a habit.
And getting “dressed to shoes 👞 “.
You are so right Joshua! I started cleaning the garage 20 minutes a day (it was awful) now I can walk through it and be proud of all my work! I am so grateful for you!

Lastly, when you accidentally read an old letter to God years ago.. you will be astonished that realize that you already became living many of the spritual things you prayed for & God has responded very smoothly and no single prayer has passed without being listened to with great care by our father the Holy God. .
That is awesome. My desire is to hear from God. I will try that too.
Kudos to you! Did you just quit cold Turkey?
Excellent
I hear you! Great 👍 Really!!
I do this too. 😊
Great idea 💡.
No more icky showers 🚿
I live alone too, and I like a Sunday dinner, and this is a brilliant idea, thanks.
Thanks for sharing Neil
Must be sad
@@TruthTriumphs777 no not sad, I reminisce over the good and positive times. I do however Miss sharing my life day-to-day with someone.
I'm grateful for channels like yours on TH-cam: they've been a valuable source of insight and support this last 18 months.
I started a gratitude alarm in my phone, 4x/day. Whichever family members are with me, we all go around and say one thing we're grateful for. In two weeks I have noticed my heart and mind so much lighter and joyful.
That’s a great idea!
This is so much fun! Love it!!
@@Islandtyme it will be interesting to hear how it goes for you! Excited 🤩
Hugs to you...
One of the few you-tubers who doesn’t try to convince you to buy something that will supposedly make you happier.
Thank you sir. I started going to bed with a clean sink years ago and it does WONDERS for my morning
i cant sleep unless my house is in order (for what i can do) - remember, i do live with others, who do not embrace my way of life
It's nice to get up to a house in order :)
The 7 habits:
3-item To-Do list
Exercise
Turn off the television
Practice gratitude
Write something down
Reset your kitchen
Eat together
Thank you.
Thank You
I'm working on a 11 day exercise streak. You're right; you feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's actually quite amazing!

I love you, Joshua. You did changed my life. I was already on my way to minimalism. You helped me. A lot. Thank you for what you doing.
simple habits that changed my life:
- Eat breakfast.
That’s beautiful ❤️
I hope to find that one day…
@@livelaughlove4635 You will . It comes when we least expect it
This is amazing . Bless you both
So sweet.
Lovely 😍 I'm happy for you both 😊
Just watching this today and I realize I had already do some of these things and can attest to the benefits.
‘I am a better person today because I started writing years ago’ love this. Just the inspiration I needed to start writing again.
I’m with you here! I need to start writing again too!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words Samantha. So glad the video resonated.
Wow that was good!!
Thanks, Samantha!
I agree. It hit a chord with me, too. Thanks!
Good luck with your new life! Enjoy 😊
You won’t regret decluttering!
This is awesome! May God continue to guide you❤️
I already do most of these, within my life but I'm giving up smoking next week, I am getting everything in place to help ....

As a budding speaker & hundreds of hrs studying, opening w/ a quote of J. Maxwell is a good one!
I'm not a morning person, so resetting the kitchen is a must for me. I won't turn off the TV! Sometimes it's just background noise.
If I don't do the dishes in the evening, I do have a pan of soapy water I drop them in so no odor or stuck on food crud to greet me in the morning! 👍
These tips are like mini masterclasses. My home is improving more and more. Thank you!
prayer is absolutely the first thing when i wake up! God first.
Also I make my bed daily makes me feel nice, clean and cozy.
I'm still in the
de-clutterng stage though.... with the end goal being to embrace minimalism. Your videos are simple, helpful and inspirational while I'm on the journey. Thank you Joshua.
It is wonderful to wake up to a clean kitchen as you prepare your coffee!
I have 4 of these make my bed as soon I leave it.Fix my kitchen clean at night, prayers and walking
Such an inspiring individual with so much wisdom. Thanks so much.
Wow, he is so precise and focused on his discussion...just love the presentation
Thank you.
Definitely great ideas! I think the first one is my worst! I always have a To-Do list a mile long. The others I am confident with. Eating together as a family, is crucial... my kids are 21 and 22 now and SO thankful we did this while we could!!!
Now they’ll want to do that for their children when the time comes. Good Mom!!!❤

Wow! That’s quite a streak! Good for you! 😄💪
I cant begin to tell you how GRATEFUL I am for having found you!!! Thank you!!!♥️
Thank you for sharing your advice. I surely needed this….your so right. I watch the news and become upset. I need to live my life and be happy..🙏
Journal? Yes! Thank you!
I listen to this video about once a week. Repetition helps.
Thank you Joshua, for showing us a simple way to enrich our everyday lives.
Thank you always for all these tips Mr. Becker . You are amazing
That smirk you had when you suggested to own less stuff if resetting your kitchen every evening is too difficult. Oh, yes 😀😀
Yes ! I do 15-20min exercise daily! No matter wat! It’s such a boost for my physical and mental health! Bonus I have bags of energy without feeling so tired either!! No 6 was spot on!
Thank you for another thought provoking video! Please never stop writing! I enjoy reading your books, blog posts, etc. ❤👍🤗
JMG
Every one of your videos inspires positive change in my days.
Have started doing this since 10th August. Especially like the three item to do list. Keeps me focussed. Very helpful video.
Joshua, thank you again, for showing me how to improve my quality of life, in simple and very effective ways.
Though I am unable to do the daily meal with family (my family is in another state and I am alone at the moment) I can occasionally "video dinner" with them. If there is a will there is usually a way.
Thank you Joshua. Your videos are awesome 👌
I like the three item to do list. I feel I have to get at least 20 things done in a day. This says do the three most important.
Good video and habits to do.
This is a very, very valuable vlog. Thank you.
