8:27 Actually, you're right. She has been in the camp since she was 7 years old so this is her first time buying snacks again. Plus, she has dyslexia maybe that's why she's taking a long tine reading tha labels.
i think the reason we’re not seeing big fight scenes is because it’s unrealistic to the world. you have to consider that this season is the first part of a ten book series, so they aren’t going to be the most trained when the show first starts. they and all demigods are trying to end the fights as quickly as possible, because yes, monsters can come back to life repeatedly while the kids can’t. hope that clarified a bit!!
well that, but also that shooting fight scenes with kids takes so much more time than with adults. Stunt doubles can't really be used all that often and kids can''t work as long, so everything takes longer to film. (Pretty sure I read that the minotaur fight in ep1 took like 3 months to film)
the fight against medusa is also over pretty quickly in the book: "I slashed up with my sword, heard a sickening shlock!; then a hiss like wind rushing out of a cavern - the sound of a monster disintegrating. Something fell to the ground next to my foot." Most normal monsters go down pretty easily in the book. The fight scene in the bus was slightly longer in the book, but not that much, so it's fine.
The Oracle gives prophecies that's why the quest is structured like that. Also the reason why the Oracle chose Gabe to tell the prophecy is because it knows Gabe annoys Percy, it has a sense of humor! They are called Furies, the hag things.
in the movie they kill her easily too. grover drives a car into statues distracting her and then percy cuts off her head. so kinda similar but Annabeth actually helps in the book and show. also olympus is “in” the empire state building not a random new york building 😂.
i thought the same thing about how percy beheaded her but i realized annabeth put the cap on medusa and then pointed to where percy should swing, so thats how he knew where to cut
Yeah, Rick wanted to flesh out Medusa’s backstory. The Medusa fight is what it is. Not gunna repeat what everyone else is saying but Medusa really isn’t that powerful. She can turn people to stone and that’s it. Yeah some of these early monsters are weaker than ones we will see down the road. As adults we have to remember it’s a show geared towards kids so fine with some of the things. Little critiques are good. I kinda wish the fights were a bit better/longer but it is what it is. Hopefully this season does well and can get more of a budget for the following seasons. That could help with some of those things and CGI. Overall I’ve enjoyed the show so far and think this was the best episode yet. Will be interesting to see what happens the next 5.
I just want to add here that yes the story you will see here is different from the movie. But also, Grover's personality in here will be different too. I hated Grover's personality in the movies. So enjoy this Grover cause I love him here.
Monsters don't have souls, so when they're killed, they regenerate in Tartarus and reappear on earth. Sometimes it takes years, sometimes days. Alecto, as a servant of Hades, would regenerate quickly.
i read the books and i too feel like the fights are so quick. i dk what make the producers take that choice but i do belive that this story is make to be a book, no a series nor movie. it feel so quick without reading percy thoughts. Everything else is a 10/10 for me
The fight scenes in the books are far superior. I'll just say that. 😅 It's percy's quest he's the one that's supposed to be calling the shots. But they changed that i suppose. In the books it's explained on the bus scene, so I'm not sure if they're gonna explain it in the show, so SPOILER When monsters die, they regenerate and come back. It can be in a few hours, days, years maybe not in a demigod's lifetime.
They explained that on the bus, grover said that not even death could stop them. Thats why I wasn't shocked when Mrs Dodds came back but maybe now that shes stone she could be permanently gone but idk
@@JustGavinBennett being "permanently gone" is lowkey impossible. You can pray for them to regenerate slowly, but it's still a matter of luck. Also, Alecto was on a mission and sent by Hades himself, I'm sure he tried to speed up her comeback from death so that she could bring Percy to him.

I feel that they decided the fights are not that important with character or story development, considering the length of the episodes.

Most of the fights in this universe are solved with wits or core power rather than actual one-on-one combat.

The Intro & ending is sick I'm pumped Love it. 🕺🏻🕺🏻🤺

Yes grover can speak to basically every animal, percy can also speaks to horses because poseidon basically created a horse.
calling the empire state building a “random new york building” made me chuckle lmaooo. /gen
I didn’t see it from the outside if I saw the little spike antenna on top I woulda known for sure :(
@@JustGavinBennett haha its okay! i just thought it was funny

I could listen to medusa talk into my ear for days
She's on the cw flash show if you want more of her!
yeah, grover can talk to animals. percy can talk to horses & pegasi bc poseidon was also the god of horses
