    I am part of the global harmonica community. I guess being interested and involved in the harmonica community over many years has lead me to be elected as Vice-President of HarmonicaUK, and that's quite an honour - the President is Paul Jones from the Manfreds/The Blues Band
    If you love harmonica lessons but don’t love me try Joe Filisko, David Barrett, Tomlin Leckie, Liam Ward, Adam Gussow, Ronnie Shellist and there are others!
    When I heard Elwood Blues playing blues harp in the Blues Brothers film from the 80s, I couldn't get over the crazy sound of the harmonica. I watched the film over and over - even watched it last night! Had to get me a harmonica...
    Seeing Paul Lamb playing the Station Tavern in London was the final straw - I started having lessons from him and became a Sonny Terry nut. From there Little Walter, Big Walter and gradually found out about all the greats.
    Brendan Power introduced me to other players such as Charlie McCoy, JJ Milteau, Howard Levy and then I was hooked.
    I started teaching professionally in 1995 while studying how to teach and began running workshops in London inherited from Brendan Power as he was joining Riverdance. The first lesson in school I taught in was Dulwich College in London and then in Bristol.
    I've had the luck to study personally with Howard Levy (one week residential), Paul Lamb, Brendan Power, Joe Filisko, Richard Sleigh, Carlos del Junco, Sonny Terry (recorded lesson) and in workshops with Charlie McCoy, Lee Oskar, Steve Baker, Keith Dunn, Rick Estrin, Rick Epping, Adam Gussow amongst lots others - and thanks to all of them for the help which I now pass on to other students.
    Performance wise, I have played in many blues bands, and different musical groups as well as performing solo and on cruise ships. I've played on the same bill as Larry Adler in 2000, jammed in concert with Jools Holland and had a long, hilarious and fascinating lunch with Billy Connolly showing him some harmonica techniques he wanted to know about.
    Fine players of the harmonica include Big Walter, Little Walter, Sonny Terry, Sonnyboy Williamson Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Jason Ricci, Adam Gussow, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Robert Plant, Steve Tyler, Taj Mahal, Kim Wilson, Charlie Musselwhite, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Reed, Larry Adler, Dave Gage, Furry Lewis, John Popper, John Sebastian, Neil Young, Bruce Willis, Sugar Blue, William Clarke, Paul Delay, Tom Ball, Mark Hummel, Jerry Portnoy, JJ Milteaux, Rod Piazza, Gary Primich, Rob Paparozzi, Joel Osborne, Shakira Starr, Alanis Morisette, Bono, David Bowie, Darth Vader, John Mayall, John Gindick, Jonny Mars, John Lennon, Allman Brothers, JP Allen.
    Types of music to play to play on the harmonica: Blues, jazz, country, rock, bluegrass, folk, funk, classical, rock, hiphop, rnb, r and b, reggae, r'n'b
    Makers: hohner, seydel, suzuki ,hering, sonnyboysmusicstore.co.uk
    Models: Marine band, crossharp proharp crossover, big river, marine band deluxe, special twenty, special 20, pro-master, blues bender, golden melody, mostly Richter tuned.

    The harmonica sounds pretty good to me... I'm just learning, but I do reallize how an instrument sounds all depends on who is playing it. Thank you for the demo, and stay well!

    I have a Swann chromatic harmonica. 16 holes. Quality piece for sure. This one here looks good, too.

    Web site I saw showed holes 9 and 10 are different than a standard chromatic. On a standard chrome, blow 8 and 9 are both C. This harp showed 9 is E. Also it said no valves. I have an Easttop T1248. It looks like this 10 hole, but it has 12 holes. It has valves and standard solo note arrangement. Very good for the price. This 10 might be a good introduction to chromatic if you just want to try it and not spend much.

    I just ordered 1 on wish same brand same model It will be here soon It sounds good the reason why I ordered it is because I'm a diatonic player I like how it sounds low tuned that makes me very happy because I like a Harmonica that sounds more like bass so Im happy knowing this Plus it sounds more like a accordion I like knowing this

    I have this one . Came this morning. It is on the table waiting to get warm . I have never played chromatic so do not have experience with different variety but will try it.

    I just bought one of these, the quality seems pretty excellent for the price (around $60 NZD) But when looking up info on chromatic harmonicas the smallest that seems to get mentioned it a 12 hole, which got me a little worried 😅

    I got the 12 hole on the strength of improving it with one Brendan Powers gasket valve sets but they’re now out of stock. No replies to whether they will be in stock again so I’m missing out on the supposedly dramatic improvement. Otherwise what can you say about Easttop products - really good for the cost.

    Hello, after several years of use, has this harmonica held up? Has it gone out of tune more quickly than a well-known brand harmonica (hohner, suzuki, seydel etc...)?

      I wouldn’t know, I’m just unboxing it here. Time will tell.

      I think this is the translation - 'As someone who is new to chromatic, I am confused because the treble sound arrangement is different from other 12-hole or 24-hole models.
      The bass and midrange are the same, but why are the treble arranged differently? Once you get used to this, other chromatic harmonica arrangements will likely become more difficult to play.
      Wouldn't it actually be a hindrance?
      Are other companies’ chromatic 10 holes arranged like this? I know'

      I can't tell you why manufacturers choose different note layouts, you would need to ask them yourself I think

  • @elwoodjacobs4353

    If I blow softly into the first hole, the C note sounds in tune, but if I blow a little harder into the first hole, the C note sounds flat. Is this normal?

    • @harmonicamastery
      @harmonicamastery  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It will go a little flat if you blow hard. Try breathing rather than blowing and see if that fixes it.

    is this harp bendable ?
    not meaning putting it at a vice and pulling it though :)

      Yes all chroms are bendable to some extent - more if the valves are removed I believe

    Do they include a chart showing the layout of notes?

    • @harmonicamastery

    • @Theslavedrivers
      @Theslavedrivers ปีที่แล้ว

      @@harmonicamastery I have ordered it, and can confirm there was a chart inside: C/d - E/f - G/a - C/b - C/d - E/f - G/a - C/b - C/d - E/f

      @Lenovo-vz7ln ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Theslavedrivers Mine arrived today and I'm absolutely delighted with it. I'm a total beginner, but it's much better than I expected - BUT the chart included in the case is completely wrong. The tuning for the ten hole, starting on middle C4, is C/d - E/f - G/a - C/b - C/d - E/f - G/a - C/b - E/d - G/f. You've probably discovered this by now!

    Can you play blues on this like a diatonic harmonica?

    • @harmonicamastery
      @harmonicamastery  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's different tuning on chrom so the answer to your question is no, but you CAN play blues on it in the 'blues chrom' style made famous firstly by George harmonica Smith

    Sad ! Came with the interior loose and cracked , as if dropped , could use better shipping than a plastic bag ...... Only 39 notes work ... Wound not recommend this ! Think it's going back ...
