I agree as an OG fan who watch the animated one you can’t compare the two really yeah they have the same characters but they are completely different shows this one is for more adult people so of course it’s going to have that adult feel too it’s going to have the darkness gonna have the mystery the other one the original is going to be more colorful and lively because it’s for a little kids you wouldn’t show a little kid. Netflix made this show for the adult audience teenage audience not for a little kids so they had to change stuff to keep the older kids and adults interested.
