At 12:00:09 The City of Plano conducted a test of its emergency warning system. Regularly the siren units specialize in both wail and voice however this unit at Parker and Midway failed to do so. Also a Papa John's employee asked me what I was doing. I replied and we both talked and then said "Have a nice day"

This siren will be replaced in March 2017 due to lightning strikes

In just over a year, he films this siren again with a 2030 control board and the back cover fallen off due to lightning strikes. You can compare that wail to this one.

How much louder are these in Plano than the ones in McKinney? If I'm not mistaken SafetyCom maintains these and are the company that has been doing the replacements, so this one's drivers are all more than likely intact. Not too sure if McKinney keeps up with theirs as well, and they should with the low pitch of that tone they use or else they'll all go up in smoke.
McKinney doesn't care about broken drivers. The only two criteria for replacing the siren is A. Broken rotator or B. Does not work at all. Even if 1 speaker is in tact and the rest are blown, they most likely will keep it.
I don't know. But when I emailed the emergency management saying the speakers are blown and it was very quiet they said "The sirens are working as designed"
DJ2226 this siren is scheduled to be replaced in 2017. It got struck by lightning.
That siren hasn't sounded in a long time. They must've reactivated it.
Really? Its hard to tell though since the rotational sirens always rotate back to their starting position. This one was LOUD!

I'm sorry I can't I had different plans. And I have had several experiences where the old siren is disconnected and the new sirens are not hooked up yet. I am doing GP T-135ACDCs at 1:00PM

You should record a Farmers Branch Siren. They changed their sirens. They're Whelen Vortex R4 still but with Federal Signal Ultravoice Control Box.

I noticed they also changed DTMF/FSK antennas too.
Also I recorded a Fin Vortex R3 back in November in Farmers Branch.
The Whelen activation equipment was aging to the point where it was becoming unreliable, but the sirens themselves were fine. Instead of replacing everything they saved the heads and replaced everything else with Federal Signal equipment. The company that did it is very reputable, they'll take good care of them.

OMG WHAMY I DROVE BY IT YESTERDAY AND THE SPEAKER DRIVER COVER FELL OFF THE DRIVERS R EXPOSED!!!! I'm thinking that they might replace it I called it in but they didn't fix it yet I suggest you also call in siren 11 call the city of Plano go to www.plano.gov and go to the bottom and you will see a number call that and tell them to fix it , or don't do it until u see it first your choice.
