Probably living off the bitcoin they didnt seize. I think its highly unlikely he didnt hide at least some bitcoin on harddrives away from the house that weren't found
Jimmy isn't that smart. He could have offered certain countries 1/3 of the bitcoin once he was safely there and lived with immunity from prosecution for the rest of his days with 2 bill still in his pocket. He made the mistake of staying in the same yard he had also taken a massive dump in.
Not just that. He could have gone to those countries and cashed out. Then came back to the US if he wanted and no one would have known a thing. If someone cashes out Bitcoin in Russia, the U.S. Government is going to go, "Ah shit." They wouldn't know who they are. He also made the mistake of having accessible wallets. Make those wallets like the Harry Potter Horcruxes and hide them all over the world.

I hope he gets a job programming or doing legit work as a computer genius and learns that real friends would not only hang out with him bc of how much money he has/spends.
It wasn't all that much money when he stole it and it was a white collar crime with no real victims from someone with an otherwise clean record. So, yeah, not really surprising.
you got it wrong. the money he spent was from his legit bitcoin investments. he was caught as he touched the stolen funds but he did not spent them. thats why the sentence is so low.

Well thats disappointing. Thought Jimmy would actually "hack" Silk Road. This is the equivalent to that Chase bank tik-tok glitch lol. I just gotta say: Whenever I think you can't possibly outdo yourself, you keep outdoing yourself with both the script and the editing. I'm in awe.
It's not really money laundering, just because you unlink the bitcoin from the initial account doesn't mean it's now clean and useable, money laundering is mixing illegal money with legal money most commonly through a business
you don't know what money laundering is
Love your stuff! Glad to see your channel really growing.
Perhaps the worst part is that he admitted he only got laid one time during all this and that was when he paid the women. Imagine spending so much cash and living the ‘high’ life and not even be able to get laid without paying a couple times.
I love all your Dark Web videos 😊
Only a year in prison?! He must have sang like a canary. He's got to be working for the federal government now...
Eh, he stole from a criminal
@@OrgaNik_Music Yeah its BS thats even a crime. When the gov does it, its a seizure and they are hero's. A civilian does it, goes to jail, and has 3 billion "seized" now from them. Brutal.
He didn't spend the money.
@@DavidKen878 That didn't matter. He could have been sentenced to up to 20 years for wire fraud, but the judge decided to be lenient. Zhong got incredibly lucky.
@@XBluDiamondX It does matter. What are you talking about? It makes a huge difference. Also just because you are facing up to 20 years doesn't mean the judge is being lenient if you don't get the full 20. Federal guidelines play a big part in determining someone's sentence.
Was just searching to pass 30min you're a god Kira, now if you excuse me i have to watch this masterpiece
deja vu? i thought for sure kira already made a video on this guy
Great video again 👍🏻
Jimmy messed up big time 😂
Your Ashley Madison video is used for an example in my cyber security college course on insider threats.
Only a year in prison? And got to live a rich person's life for longer than that? That might be worth it
I don't know if this one got taken down or if I've just seen this story from another creator but always glad to see a Kira upload regardless.
probably reupload thought the same.
I met Jimmy looking like an asian scarface from the scene where pacino headbanged himself into the powder....this was in a club in NYC, at a table that cost $50,000 for the night and surrounded by a sea of bobbleheads. I took one of them home that night. She been my wife for 11 years. Thanks again Jimmy! I had a great night!!
😭😭😭
Yea sure
Bullshit
Cap
Love your videos man!
I was sitting through this thinking this was going to end in Jimmy's assassination from a drug lord 😂
Do you think the story is over?
Luv ur storytelling bro💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Who thinks this guy had one real solid friend that didnt want access to his money?? Maybe his mom, b4 she demanded the benz
What a sad tale. In a variety of ways.
the thing Im most impressed with it that anatomy of the right guy in the red shirt at 13:29
his arm? haha fun illusion
There's another guy in red right behind him
@@darionbuck4614 Wow, seriously didn't realise that.
Like, how the f his shoulder like that
This guy needs a movie
27:25 I'd just like to draw attention to the fact that this guy who was mercilessly bullied as a kid has a "Trump: Fuck your feelings" banner taking up most of the space behind his couch.
Thank you for pointing it out.
I genuinely didn’t notice it.
who cares fam
How, do tell, does childhood trauma affect political biases in adulthood?
What's your point?
You're just desperate to have another useless conversation about politics that you don't even understand. Stop. Get a life
this guy needs a movie. what a fucking G.
Honey, put the kids to sleep. Kira just dropped😮
This is absolutely wild, and I am only half way through the video! I also wish I had got in early on Bitcoin 😢
Jimmy seems more of a simp than a party guy
I would say nice. You don't have to be fragile alpha dude to be a cool party guy. Sounds like was kind and generous but should have kept his $$$ a bit more secretive.
@@aoh4905 found the simp
@aoh4905 yea most people who do drugs and get sucked into the "party" aren't daddy's little white boy who actually had the option to say no and face no consequences. The "party life" is full of crime, despair, loss, suffering, and death. Nothing to aspire to be. Smart people will apply themselves wherever they find themselves to survive, criminal or not.
Yeah but even a simp gets lots of girls when he is rich and willing to spend big in the club
Excellent quality documentary as usual
Intelligent? Yes. Smart? Nope.
he stole from darknet pirates and arguably, subconsciously turned him self in. digital robin hood with less donations. see him kinda as a hero : )
What’s Jimmy doing now? I doubt he’s sitting quietly at a desk job. Not with an ego like his.
Probably living off the bitcoin they didnt seize. I think its highly unlikely he didnt hide at least some bitcoin on harddrives away from the house that weren't found
Oh good, a Labor Day Kira deep-dive!
Damn Brody - this craaazzyyy
Jimmy isn't that smart. He could have offered certain countries 1/3 of the bitcoin once he was safely there and lived with immunity from prosecution for the rest of his days with 2 bill still in his pocket.
He made the mistake of staying in the same yard he had also taken a massive dump in.
They would have taken everything he had
Not just that. He could have gone to those countries and cashed out. Then came back to the US if he wanted and no one would have known a thing. If someone cashes out Bitcoin in Russia, the U.S. Government is going to go, "Ah shit." They wouldn't know who they are. He also made the mistake of having accessible wallets. Make those wallets like the Harry Potter Horcruxes and hide them all over the world.
1 year in prison is nothing.
Ross Ulbricht knowing your name is everything...
The glaze is real, but free Ross Ulbricht fr.
It's only been 11 years. It's too early for that lol
I don’t understand. I thought he made the money that he spent legitimately except for that one transaction at the end that was for a small amount linked to Silk Road. I hope he gets a job programming or doing legit work as a computer genius and learns that real friends would not only hang out with him bc of how much money he has/spends.
Hope he did hide some cash in diffrent locations.
Great video. Honest karma
Soooo dude got to be a millionaire and lived it up for 10 years and all he got was ONE year in prison for stealing all that money?!?
What?!
It wasn't all that much money when he stole it and it was a white collar crime with no real victims from someone with an otherwise clean record. So, yeah, not really surprising.
He stole from criminals so who cares
you got it wrong. the money he spent was from his legit bitcoin investments. he was caught as he touched the stolen funds but he did not spent them. thats why the sentence is so low.
Because politicians are THIEVES too so the laws are softy, softy, soft for thieves!.
@@xCyal No, his sentence was so low because he handed over 3.4 billion dollars worth of Bitcoin. He may have not been able to sell it but the US government will. Probably buy a hammer or a toilet seat with it.
But not our Jimmy! Couldn't be precious Jimmy!
He stole money from drug dealers? Why the fuck is this even prosecuted
What are you talking about, “Money He Couldn’t Spend”!?!?!?!?!?
*HE SPENT A SHlT TON OF IT!!!!!*
He he rented a Private Jet and traveled all over the world, going to the most exclusive places. And he paid a bunch of strangers Thousands Of Dollars every single day just to go with him, and he bought them Cars and and took them Shopping to Expensive Brand Stores, all on His Dime!!!!!
Couldn’t spend the “stolen” Btc. Remember he was already mining/collecting legitimate Btc before and after the thievery, and that’s what he was using to fund his lifestyle.
Well thats disappointing. Thought Jimmy would actually "hack" Silk Road. This is the equivalent to that Chase bank tik-tok glitch lol.
I literally did what Jimmy did to Taco Bell back when their app was just released. They had a glitch where if you removed a item that was discounted, the discount would persist.
Add item, add coupon, remove item, balance is now negative. Repeat until you have enough negative balance to get free Taco Bell.
The only difference was I just wanted free tacos, I wasn't stupid enough to mess with criminals and the IRS.
He may have received only one year in jail, but everyone knows who he is now. Including the people he stole from.
DPR, the person he stole the money from, is currently serving life in prison.
@@aronvarga7018he didn’t even steal it technically, DPR didn’t care that he had the money, he even gave him more money on top of it
Just makes you facepalm. He could have taken the money he made legit on bitcoin, invested it and never had to work again. What a waste.
heard this story like 4 times now ty
Never call the cops. Wonder how Jimmy is going now?
He should write a book about bitcoin :)
Jimmy just wanted what we all want even as a kid. A friend, good upbringing. If he had those simple things he might not have been the way he was, I actually like Jimmy, seems like a likable, decent guy with a few problems he made for himself along the way.
I think Jimmy wanted a little more than that.
Great preso Kira!
