A very late comment but at 2:45, that's a coin produced under Nazi occupation, you can tell as nearly all of the coins produced in Nazi-occupied territories all use the same coated zinc for the coinage.
High Paul when I worked on the ships in the London docks ,on board in the mess room was a shove halfpenny board with domed halfpennies like those in your video keep up the good work mate J.R.S
The €0.20 coin is German indeed, it depicts the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin! That tiny Dutch 10 cent coin is so small because it's the same size as the silver coins that preceded it. Although they made them from nickel since 1946 they kept the same size, so that 25 cent coin will probably be 2.5 times as large as the 10 cent. Back in the day they even made 5 cent silver coins which were half the size of the 10 cents of couse. I have one of those and it's super tiny! :D
@@CoinPatrol an interesting question! I think for now I'm fine with just consuming and not producing coin content, with occasional conversations in the comments. But I'll let you know when I change my mind ;)
I believe the domed coins are done to make jewellery. By drilling a hole in the middle of the coin before turning it into a dome it can be formed into a ring. Its called coin dapping.
Some interesting coins from Alison, a friend of mine makes things like Rings 💍 Spoons 🥄 Bells 🔔 out of old coins (usually Silver but not entirely) could quite easily dome the coins. Fantastic video Paul Great stuff Coin Patrol 👍🏻
Nice selection of coins there Paul. The "ram" on the Cypriot coin is actually a "Moufflon" which is indiginous to Cyprus and lives mostly in the Forests of the Troodos mountains. The strange structure on the Belgian banknote at the end was the Atomium, built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair (Expo '58).
Love looking through these foreign coins. I’ve been going through various stacks of euro coins recently that I’ve accrued from my travels over the years. The fact that each country has their own standard version of each coin, coupled with the knowledge that they also have commemorative issues means the number of euro coins to collect is enormous. Wondering whether I should actively start collecting euro coins as it could become a huge collection.
Something a little bit different for your channel, but you still managed to sneak in a few pennies to please Dave 😁. Nice of Alison to let you loose with her domes 😂😂
The 20 euro cents from Greece seems to be minted in Greece. Most early Euro coins from Greece were minted in Finland (S for Suomi), France (F) or Spain (E for Espagna) as Greece was very late to be ready for the Euro changeover. This mint mark S, F or E could be found in the first star below the mintage year of this coin . The coin you are showing lacks that mint mark as far as I can see. The 5 Euro cents from Greece has a F (France) mint mark in the star above the year,

Great coins & notes from Alison. The domed coins are made using the ball end of a hammer.👍👌

Hope you and your family had a good Christmas. I have seen those domed shaped half pennies turned into earrings, necklace pendants and key rings.
