YT always remove my comments as soon as I posted them with a link 😢 Which is really a problem when I want to give more details on a feature we have. Anyway, 4th time writing this, without a link this time: A pro tip: you can even check your app inside the VM during an auto backup restore check, with the "advanced" feature. In short, you write a small script in your VM (bash, Python, whatever) that will do the app check, ie a database check, and then write in the xenstore that's OK. XO will wait for this key/value to be set on success or failure and will give the result accordingly. Since I can't post the link, check "Advanced backup restore check" paragraph in the XO 5.82 release blog post :)
Would be curious to see how you get PCIe Passthrough (more specifically GPU passthrough) to work with XCP-NG compared to the likes or proxmox / VMware etc. I do a lot of model scaling and design work and pass through the GPU on proxmox to a windows VM. Have been thinking about migrating to XCP-NG for a few months and this latest series is making me seriously consider it (so i can manage my little homelab in the same interface as my prod network at home)
Can you do a test of GPU passthrough to the VM for XCP, Prox, KVM, Etc. I have been looking for the perfect gaming distro VM but they will all suck unless you get access to the GPU in the VM.
Hello vm leaks feature error I have 2 pool and 2 host with 4 vms. In one of my host every thing is well but in my host 2 when I want to reboot or shutdown the vm an error occurs ( vm leaks feature). could you please help me?
xcp/xoa dev is too slow. I've implemented it sereval years ago, contributed on github etc. but for some of my ideas (which were obvious funcitons) it tooks 4 years to be implemented. As you said: it ITHC boots vm and detects the mgmt tools, years ago I've suggested to add a WorkFlow functionality to xoa, it will take years before it will be there. I need to test if backup vm with database have proper data on sql. For that I need to fully boot vm after backup, run some script in vm, and send output to xoa. For now it's impossible without intermediary server.

@@LAWRENCESYSTEMS Thanks!
It's a great new series, I'm looking forward to the next episode. Thank you for all your work.
Nice video & love your T-shirt ^^

It's covered in their documentation, maybe I will do a video on it at some point.
So can you setup a smaller XCP-ng box and just use that as a backup device? can you also map the destination to a NAS?
Yes th-cam.com/video/weVoKm8kDb4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iUC9QDIAZGvJIhSX
Cloudstack with just plain kvm would also be a great thing. Even better. May be opennebula too.

Watch the Craft Computing channel as Jeff already has videos on that.
Hello
vm leaks feature error
I have 2 pool and 2 host with 4 vms. In one of my host every thing is well but in my host 2 when I want to reboot or shutdown the vm an error occurs ( vm leaks feature). could you please help me?
you need to load the xen management tools on that VM so it can shutdown via XO
@@LAWRENCESYSTEMS Thank you! Solved
Can you do local ZFS storage on XCP-ng?
Yes
