I looking to get a 2nd android box, after the 1st one I got (Minix Neo-U1), which I precisely bought after reviewing one of your videos. However after watching this video it wasn't clear: 1) If this box comes with its own power on/off button (one integrated into the box, like the Minix boxes does?, and 2) If this could be turned on just with the stock remote? I've seen other boxes that can be turned on/off ONLY with their own stock remotes, which is completely unacceptable as it just limits its use by using more complete remotes. Could you please clarify this doubt please? Watched some kind-of button located @ one of its corners, but not sure if that was the power on/off button. Thanks for your help. Greetings! :D
The only machine RK so far that passed most of my tests was the R99 😀 i havent tested all but frequently the RK is more risky than amlogic like Minix 👍 if you really want RK go for the R99 👍

Hello Roberto. I love your reviews especially on the android TV boxes. My question is, if a TV box has bluetooth support, does that mean you can play media from android phone to tv box via bluetooth? Or what is the main function of the bluetooth because i have noticed the boxes that have bluetooth are more expensive than the ones that don't. Hehe!! Hey Nuno, thanks for the feedback, you know that is a funny suggestion as i do that on purpose. At the beginning i would only take a static screenshot and then with time i started to record the screen with a HDMI recorder, and to give some motion to the image i move the mouse or it will look like a static screnshot and on benchmarks with motion like Epic Citadel i dont move it. It looks similar to R99 in appearance and specification. Is it worthy to buy. I saw you review on Yundoo Y8 having similar Soc , so is there any issue in this box too. I am getting around $115 on Gearbest .It has Bluetooth remote. I Need your advice for best TV Box under $100 . My main purpose is to record Amazon prime video and other streaming videos in 5.1 ch ac3 audio through SPDIF output. Though Netflix is in SD so it cant output 5.1 ch.. I liked Zidoo H6 Pro and X9S but doesn't seems to have a powerful chip and I fears that It will streams video not smoothly and will stutter..Kindly suggest me. Thank You
I cannot suggest a box that I haven’t tested like the csa because even the same hardware sometimes firmware sucks like the the y8. I would suggest Minix u9-h, mibox 3, R99. All of them with great performance. Regarding audio I can’t test because I don’t have a capable av receiver 👍😎

Hi Roberto, I just bought this box and I'm having an issue where when I put it in standby mode using the remote (both the stock remote and the S77) it won't come back on using the remote. The only way I get get the box to come back on is by removing the plug from the socket and plugging it back in again. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this and how I can solve it? Thanks.
Hey Mike, although i completely understand you, i believe that Android 7 has nothing major to offer to us. Android 5 had, Android 6 also was important but 7 mehh!! Im not sure if it can be upgraded yet 👍

Hello have you ever try to update the firmware on a similar device and get the issue that in recovery mode the device disconnect so you can't update it? A new firmware to Nougat is on the way soon in about a week or so (^.^)
Hey Nick, i only update when the firmwqre comes from the manufacturer and the only time that happened was when the update did not work trough 100% and then i had to do it all over again and got back to life!! 👍
Hi Ron, yes it has a dongle and transmits its signal over wifi and yes it will work with the Xiaomi box without problems. Actally all wireless remotes will work with Mibox, and on my review of the Mibox i did show it with a A3 remote 👍

Roberto Jorge it's actually on the settings for TV. I fixed that in setup so it wasn't set up for the small Android screen. If that's not what you were referring to, then what exactly (steps)? I have Google earth set up in Kodi that works fine. Some apps like terrarium have ads that pop on after a show ends that seem to hold it open. Other than that I've only been able to get it to dim, but no screensaver.

I got this one but I love the firestick interface from Amazon other than that the WiFi is not strong enough as the regular fire stick the interface is not really good and the price are higher than the Amazon 2 generation fire stick box 4k..my honest comment..by the way great video.

Most import question - does it support automatic refresh change? Does it support 24p? System-wide? Netflix movies should be played at 24p not 50/60. If not - then just go buy Apple TV for that money.

Hey Vladimir, the U9-H is a bit faster, but the R99 is close to it and a bit more powerful on the CPU. i think its a matter of personal choice. I personally prefer Amlogic machines but this Rockchip impressed me 👍

4:04 It looks like the RK3066 spec sheet got mixed up with the spec sheet of the RK3399? Isn't the latter made on a 28nm process, and not 40nm? ;-)

BT is used to pair devices to the box like headphones and speakers. But we can stream from our phones to the box usin air play and similar aps

Dude if you want KODI only, you can pick almost anything, but if you start using APK's then that is when you need to get a little more selective. ;)

Why does Netflix movies run at only 480P SD quality?
Netflix demands special licensing this device lacks for better quality video. One hardware prerequisite is a DRM capable hdmi (2.0) port.
it is not hops Android 7.1.2 and it does not run Leanback Launcher Android TV. we're need 1 new firmware good run Launcher Android TV.

Price range is like Minix U9h ..But to me it seems Minix is beter buy ?
Hey Vladimir, the U9-H is a bit faster, but the R99 is close to it and a bit more powerful on the CPU. i think its a matter of personal choice. I personally prefer Amlogic machines but this Rockchip impressed me 👍
I read that its android 7.1.2 instilled but I read some more and it is android 6.0 so which is it. thanks J.R also you got 2017-2018 which one is the 2018:)
Roberto! its way too expensive £200!! I might as well get a Shield failing that a Minix U9_H which is almost the perfect Box! I trust your judgement Roberto but cannot trust the RK3399 its never worked well with any android product be it phone, tablet or Box. Its seems a lot of money for the chance we are taking! Could you tell us anything about the V99 which seems more competitively priced??? thanks
Its not 200 Dan, it costs 125 😀 I also am not a fan of RK because the bad experiences that i had in the past but this one i was surprised!! 👍 teh V99 i havent tested yet, i have a lot of devices here waiting for me but i only have 24 hours per day and between 2 jobs, family and a couple of hours to sleep theres a limited time for YT hehe!!!

If you want it for retail you should contact the supplier and buy in bulk for a better deal, just my opinion though 😀
