It's weird that people are critical of how Terra lives. You can tell she's relaxed and happy. But, yes, we'd love to know more about how you have created that life for her.
Feeding Tara.... I've had 4 chronically ill pets, 3 cats and 1 dog, for years. Thousands of dollars spent on specialty foods, vet bills and medications. As a last resort, I decided to go raw food. Within ONE WEEK, my critters were healthier, chronic illness GONE.... Just like that! I like how you add vegetables to Taras' food, I'll try that because I know they need more fibre. I'm discovering, pure foods, that meaning non-processed, is less expensive in so many ways, but more importantly, my critters are healthy. Unfortunately, no support from veterinarians. 💔
We Love Terra & know she is very well cared for. We were so happy to see you & Terra again even though it was for just a few minutes😍Great video Alexandria🙌🏻
Good choice to move river looks high and cold. That little flat spot is nice but could easily flood if the river came up. You mention in some of your videos about the bugs. For many years I organized and led many wilderness canoe trips, and I was always on the lookout for a good all around bug tent. After several versions this is the one I have found to be the best so far. It's large enough, has a roof that acts like a shade and rain fly. It has no floor so any water that makes it inside simply goes into the ground. The lower lip is folded and can be weighted down in the wind. Others were too bulky and heavy or too small. This one will easily fit 4 people and your dog and when put away in its bag about 4 inches in diameter and 24 inches long. It weighs next to nothing. One other thing I noticed was your pup was sitting on the back seat. A good friend has removed that seat and built a just the right height plywood platform under which he has all kinds of extra storage. He covered the platform with outdoor carpet to give his pup traction and keeps the pup from sliding around. It also hides your stuff from prying eyes.
While I love the ocean and have always lived near it, there's something very special about rivers. So true what you say about living with little. I lost a bunch of stuff in a storm a few years back. Looking back, it was almost a blessing to have it gone. No decisions to make about keeping, selling, giving away, storing, etc., it was decided for me. I got over the material stuff. The only thing that really hurts is the old photos and sentimental things that cannot be replaced. C'est la vie! It makes one look at what is a want vs. what is a need; what is helpful vs. what is a hindrance. Of course, Tara gets to keep all her toys! 😉 It's funny, a friend of mine was just telling me earlier that for his dog he puts sweet and white potatoes, peas, beans, carrots (I might be forgetting something) in a blender and mashes them up. He puts that mixture in single serve containers, boils either chicken or ground beef, adds it and freezes them. He then microwaves to thaw before feeding. I just reserved "The Salt Path" on the library app. When you mentioned it, I recalled having once read something about it and wanting to read it. So thank you for reminding me. Good video! Safe travels!
I would love to know more about Terra. She seems so super chill! I live in Florida and wildfires can be a problem here too (not as bad, perhaps, as California and the West Coast) and they often do prescribed burns. I'd much rather see them mitigate than have to deal with a wildfire. It is so dangerous for those who have to fight those fires and it destroys so much of the wildlife when they rage out of control. Good to see y'all today!! 🥰🐶
You take such good care of Terra. I have had many dogs in my life thus far, and each and every dog has their own personality as well as their own health type and issues. And I have never found a vet that even wanted to talk about the best foods for dogs especially those with any type of digestive issues. So as with people, we often have to research, do some trial and error, and just keep learning about different type foods and how well they work with our own systems. You are the best, and I think whatever content you like, or what ever moves you, I will be happy to watch! Have an awesome week!
I would love to know more about Terra. Goldens are my absolute favorite dog. I had three that have now left this world. I gave one of them away because she had too much energy for me to handle. I miss them all so much! Please show us more! 😊😊
It's so humid hot here in SC, I was envious when I saw you splashing the water on your face. I can imagine it was cold and refreshing. Sorry you couldn't get you mountain spot but the control burns are so necessary. As you probably know Redwoods are fire dependent. Mosquitoes are such a nuisance. I make a wonderful essential oil blend that absolutely repels them and its safe for dogs. It also repels ticks and flies. Let me know if you want the recipe. Have an awesome week.
I agree with you 100% about having things that are not necessary I am in the process of moving and everything that I’m putting in my storage I feel that they are unnecessary for me to keep so once I move out I’m going through my storage and get rid ofHalf of my stuff
What a lucky Girl Tara is, a really good healthy diet. Really enjoyed this video, and the backing music. We do “elective burn-off” over here too, makes things much safer.
Mora blades are so right, sharp & stay sharp, light weight and stainless, and inexpensive, that's what I use. I read somewhere that dogs have been bred to eat more of a vegetarian diet vs raw meat. Top end dog foods include a lot of different grains, carrots and such. BTW, you're doing a good job on editing and content.
Beautiful spot by the river, good move when water is rising. I’m amazed that terra is allowed to in theatre Ed while travelling, here in Australia all animals travelling in vehicles must be harnessed and clipped into seat belt, safe for them as well as not being a distraction or missile if in a accident , just curious. Cheers Judy from Australia.
I'm curious which river you were at? Have you been to the Russian River area in Sonoma County? I recently visited there and it was so beautiful. Areas like Guerneville, a very small town that runs along the river, there is the Armstrong Redwoods State Park nearby which is serene and quiet. Nearby, is Jenner, CA as well as picturesque Bodega Bay located along the coast at Hwy 1, and driving the Bohemian Hwy through small towns like Occidental was so cool. I would recommend it, but I don't know the camping options there so it would have to be researched.
Bear river camp ground Nevada city keep to the right before the fork at the end get out and walk along the stream .... Watch out for black berry s .....
Hey! Was just curious how the weight affects the truck and if you have had any issues. I also have a first gen double cab and have been hoping to build out one of these BC fiberglass campers some day. With a payload of about 1600lbs, there isn't a ton of extra weight allowance before going over GVWR. All the weight adds up quick with metal bumpers, gear, batteries, water, and passengers. Curious what MPG you get and your general thoughts! Thanks!
Hey! I absolutely LOVE the setup, and with the suspension upgrades, it has performed great over nearly 5 months total now on the road :) I upgraded my suspension with coil-overs and beefed up leaf springs (to 1,800lbs), and am about to add airbags for extra security and to help with wear. I am somewhat of a minimalist in terms of my gear and 'stuff' but I know that I am close as well. It's really just been about weight management and not buying/adding much else to ensure that we stay safe! Over the last few months, fully loaded, I have averaged 13-14mpg depending on the elevation change during an outing. But overall, it has performed excellent and I couldn't be happier!
Beautiful site. When I saw you bring the river water up to your face, I thought "Nooooo.... don't drink it!" Then you didn't. Lol. I've been on a minimalist quest most of my life and I'm pretty good at it now. Love the line Palahniuk stole for his book.... "Stuff you own, ends up owning you." Good luck with the next site. Aloha.
Pre colonialism the native Americans used control burning to maintain the land, ecosystems and to prevent large scale catastrophic fires. There hasn’t been an ‘increase’ but the colonialists thought they knew better than the wardens of the land. Similar happened in Australia exacerbated by the introduction of European tree species. Only in recent years have they looked to the knowledge of indigenous peoples to help solve the problem.
i would love a "day in the life" for Terra, i think that would be cute.... her diet reminds me of how @go4x4media (a silent camper in AUS) feeds his dog Ted 🐶
It's weird that people are critical of how Terra lives. You can tell she's relaxed and happy. But, yes, we'd love to know more about how you have created that life for her.
Yes to the "Terra Diaries" 😆💕👍
PS- new table looks great, and the Salt Path sounds like a good read
What a meal Terra gets and people doubt your love for her and have no clue about her. You know best for her!

More "Terra time" is always nice but not to judge you or think that you are doing anything wrong. Terra is just so adorable.
Hey Alex yes definitely more of your fur baby Terra as she is a happy dog & is living her best life like her Mother! 🐶 Stay safe!! 💜🇦🇺🌞🍻😊

As someone who also travels full time with a large dog, I love hearing what others come up with to make the lifestyle work for their fur babies.
Same here!
