  • I wanted to create a European-inspired primary retreat. With minimal style and subtle hues, I paired curved and straight edges in furniture pieces for interest. The smooth lines of the upholstered bed contrast with the clean, straight lines of the console tables that I used for tall, oversized nightstands. Topping those with a large scale concrete pot lamp creates a look that feels intentional. I like the simplicity of this space.
Each piece was carefully selected to create drama with minimalism in mind, I wanted it to feel welcoming, but with a fresh, airy aesthetic. I love how the art adds that dreamy, European flair. And you’ve got to check out the indoor/outdoor flow when the slider doors are pushed open. The intimate patio off this room is one of my favorite details!
Check out the full tour to see each selection I made & where I splurged/saved in this space!

I like how you do things unconventionally with your designs. That’s what interior design is all about in my opinion. Breaking the silent rules. Everything looks GOOD!

I love the warmth and the simple elegance of this space. It looks very cozy. And yes to curtains. They would add a soft finishing touch. Well done!

    Def yes on the curtains.

Yes to curtains. I know whatever you pick will be tasteful. As far as the nightstands, they only have to be functional for you and of course they're beautiful. I'm so glad to see you more confident and stating that on the first space you showed in this house. Designing is all about trying different things, taking risks, going against the grain. Sometimes people forget that. You didn't get here by playing it save. It seems like yesterday you were picking out lots!

Absolutely love your design and your home is just amazing. Just one thing I noticed and only because I had the same "setup"- the console tables as nightstands are genius except they seem too tall to be functional while actually in bed. But please, this is just my opinion because I had the same setup before increasing the height of the bed/mattress. Love your videos and thank you for continuing to share!!!

Agreed looks like she forgot the mattress on top of the box spring. The bed is way too small.

All opinions welcome! If you’ve been here long you know that I’m going to do what I want and what I like without regard for and specific rules.😊 Maybe we’re odd but neither of us ever use lamps so that doesn’t factor in for us. I may add a box spring but likely it’ll stay just like this! 😊

Yes on the curtains to warm up the space even more and add coziness. You got amazing tall ceilings and the curtains will not take away the esthetic of the doors. Fabric is also a sound bufferer

Looks beautiful! I would say yes to curtains to “cozy it up” even more than it already is. You did such a great job 👏 already!
You do you, (and your husband) boo! Don’t worry about what anyone’s opinion is. If y’all love it that’s all that matters!
Love the side “night stands”, however, if the height bothers you or gets frustrating when you go to turn your lights off, you have plenty of room to cut off a few inches ❤🎉 but if it don’t bother you, leave it be 😂🎉😂❤ still beautiful either way.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home ❤🎉

I absolutely love the simplicity of the bedroom. At some point in our lives we realize that too much design especially in a bedroom is quite chaotic. I would add some sort of curtains though, even if it's the see through ones.

Wow!!! Gorgeous!!! Love the indoor/outdoor transition! I would definitely add drapes because you are on ground level and there may be times when you do want the privacy or the light blocking. But if you go as far to the edges as you can at least most the time you could just leave them open, but at least they would be there if you need them!

Hi Mollie! I absolutely love the huge sliders! I may have to steal that idea. If you don't want to do window treatment you could look into at least adding some privacy film/tint so you can see out but no one can see in? Just a thought. Love your home!

Just my own opinion but the TV's on the walls like that now are dated looking.Kinda like the ugly recliners all men love LOL. Kinda ruins the vibe of the room. Frame tvs require the hole in the wall, but are so worth the elevated look they give, plus you can change the frame and the art if you get bored. Best investment I ever did for my home and yes the hole scared me but its really no biggie. Looks soooo much better. Hubby didn't want to do it, but when we did he even asked me to order a second one for our den. Its always better to hide the tv in plain site and this is a great way to do it. He even likes changing the art....go figure.
