    Wonderful! A great video. And what a spectacular project! (I'd love to see it slope-soaring in the Alps.) Congratulations, and thanks for posting. Very impressed with the pilot's correct use of the airbrakes on that perfect landing; the response was exactly 'to scale'. I think I'll build a 100% Elfe P2 as a DLG. Ah, I may need to spend some time at the gym before I can throw it as high as your tow plane took it, though... ;-)

    Oh you Germans, always putting out the most beautiful fantastic Scale models, and flying them from beautiful fields, with announcers, and people clapping even. Very nice landing too!
    So here is your next model to build, Only this time you to climb inside of it your self.
    You do not need to rely on that dummy to do any flying, Although he did a very nice job!

      These guys have enough skills to build a man-carrying plane. But then it would no longer be an RC model. But that's what these people want ... flying RC planes. I know a lot of RC pilots who fly full size planes either professionally or as a hobby. The nice thing about this hobby is that you can spend nice weekends with friends.

    Is this RC aircraft built to the same specs as the original?

    • @RCScaleAirplanes
      @RCScaleAirplanes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is. The only difference from the original is its weight ...
      - weight of the model: 80 kg / 176 pounds with dummy
      - weight of original plane: 65 kg / 143 pounds without pilot
      _The full size glider was the only one produced._

    • @Paiadakine
      @Paiadakine 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RCScaleAirplanes thanks for the info. I wonder if this aircraft can be configured for a pilot so you have the option for manned flight and for RC flight.

    • @RCScaleAirplanes
      @RCScaleAirplanes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably it can be converted to a manned aircraft. But there is a very BIG hurdle to jump. For manned aircraft it needs to have the authorization of the Ministry of Aviation and it have to be certified by a technical check, which relates to the construction and stability.
      _This is very complex and costly._

    Tres belle maquette mais ou est l'intérêt de faire à l'échelle 1/1 dans le sens où on sort du modélisme dans sa définition? A cette échelle le pilote pourrait monter dedans. En cas de perte de contrôle radio ou pilotage cela représente un réel danger et plus conséquent qu'un modèle plus petit.

      No because it is a trolley meant to drop off the only reason it is there is to stop friction whilst taking off that's why they dont need it on landing I personally dont use on on my RC glider cos it's not that big (4.5 meters) and the tow plane has enough grunt to take it up with no issues
