It makes me feel like waking up after tripping all night, and your room is a mess. You can't stop coughing stuff up, your head hurts, and you're a total fucking mess. You kick aside the trash on your floor and stumble over to your pipe, the remnants of your last smoke still charred to the edges. You take a drag on the pipe, and taste the ashes in your mouth. You search for your half full McDonald's Coffee from last night, and sip it intermittently with the resiny remnants of your herb.
this song feels like waking up at noon a month into summer break when the excitement has worn off and you have absolutely nothing to do, so you’re just rotting at home. sweat-damp sheets, trying to fix dehydration with glasses of water that have been left out for too long, unwashed baggy t shirts, the groggy feeling that wont go away until late night, reheated pizza and melting sticky popsicles, the drone of tv as an attempt for distraction, limp yellowing houseplants, and hot, hot sun.
This song feels like when you notice the monotony of your life. The repetitions get more and more tedious and painful but you don't understand how you could change your situation to feel at least comfortable. Everyday gets worse and worse for your psyche, then you notice how much you can't stand it. You're just so consumed by the repetitions that when your mind has time to rest, you only begin to process your frustrations. No solace from the next day, only defeat when you realize it's time to go back to work.
The lyrics are transcribed here: genius.com/Sun-araw-deep-cover-lyrics I think he is actually singing words, for the most part. He definitely repeats the title for the last half of the song at least.
This is still the best track off the album. The whole thing brings a listless paranoia to it, like you're sitting in a cheap, grimy motel with broken air conditioning waiting for the landline to ring. The Miller tallboy is full of Morley menthols you've chain-smoked out the poolside window, trying your best to lower your heart rate and look natural while the blow works its magic. You could swear the room catty-corner to yours is getting a visitor every other hour on the dot, urging a shaky hand to clutch the grip on the worn snub-nose you have tucked in the side pocket of your pants. Somewhere on the third floor, a domestic dispute spills out onto the catwalk. _Any minute now,_ you think to yourself, ignoring the knots in your stomach. _Any minute now._

It sounds like that moment in life when such an extreme event happens and you realize that nothing will ever be the same again. The feeling of anguish that comes with thinking "there's no going back now" mixed with a kind of relief in knowing that now you have no choice but to move on.
The first time I played Hotline I thought those background noises sounded just like a nuke alarm, then I finished Hotline 2 and wow that hits different.
Man, every time Jacket visits Beard in a store i get so sad knowing that Jacket is only imagining his best friend as a way to cope with the idea of him being gone forever.
I might be reaching but I feel like "deep cover" really conveys how anonymous 50 Blessings is and the otherworldly but unassuming tone of the track also creates a narrative in itself of how the organization ignites calamity from behind the scenes. It's brilliant how the game allows the players to believe that the person in deep cover the whole time is Jacket, when in reality, there are much bigger things at play. If anything, Jacket's actions further obfuscate the truth of the organization. I guess what I'm saying is that given everything that happens in the series, this track is far more menacing than it appears on the surface.
I would argue that this track is more reminiscent of Jacket's mental state than 50 Blessings as an organisation. The track is psychedelic in nature with waves of sounds that lack structure - a representation of Jacket's thoughts and feelings that rush through his mind on a daily basis.
Your in a dystopian world flooded with thick brown smog. a world with no signs of advancement only dragging along day by day at your 12 hour shift at the plant. Its very industrial, very depraved, very depressing. Everything moves in slow motion in a brown haze. You lungs fill with smog by the day. You stay awake at night hearing the noises of the people working the night shift and you toss and turn but cannot seem to fall asleep until you wake up on your way to the plant for your next 12 hour shift. This song is my favorite song of all time. When I listen to this song, all I think of is rot. Rot of the mind and spirit. A hangover after trying to drown your sorrows, taking a nap in the late afternoon or evening and waking up disoriented, waking up for another day of monotony and despair. Deep Cover is such an oppressive and murky song, and I couldn't love it more.
I don't know how to feel, it's like vibing while everything else is ruined, like having a party by yourself in a delapitated city, but it's still a bop

For some reason this almost reminds me of a place that acts as an uneasy shelter of sorts. You know, you should feel safe and at home there, but it feels so dingey and uneasy/ uncomfortable that you simply can't have a relax there
I just heard this song for the first time in a while. I've never played Hotline Miami, I just found this album one day and immediately fell in love with it.
This song is the feeling of being on a barren desert road. No civilization for the next 50 miles, either direction. Only the radio to keep company. It feels so alone, so distant, it's music played not from a band, but a soulless machine. You wish you could be around someone real, and not distant voices from wherever beyond, but it's still a long way ahead to the next stop. Nothing to do but drive on.
Jacket always felt like shit. After mindlessly killing he throws up and hallucinates half of the game. That's the way I think of him, some one who wants to cry but can only kill.
This feels like you work in the night shift in a big city and are seeing the sunrise through a bus windom going back home. Your life is monotonous and repetitive, but in these moments... feels good.
This feels like a song that would play when you give up and just lose your grip, in my opinion. When you just permanently disassociate and the days blur together. Like Jacket, killing day after day with no goal or objective to work towards.

this song just pops into my head sometimes and reminds me of those lazy days in the past biking around abandoned parking lots and parks as the sun set.
I remember how I fell asleep at midnight and woke up at 6 am (usually I sleep 8-9 hours). At that moment I felt normal and thought what the hell was this.

“It's 'Dave' from Miami Pest Control. We need you. A client at sw 104th street is having vermin problems. Try to handle it as quick and swift as you can. Someone else will clean up for you after you leave. Make sure not to bother any of the neighbors.”
This song to me feels like waking up on a Saturday morning, or any morning without a care in the world. Maybe slightly hungover, maybe broke, but hey, you’re just making it and enjoying life 🤟
Hi there, it's Nexen from Sanfran Real Estate. We got a wonderful apartment to show you today at West 21st street, apt. 123. This is an open house event, so expect many potential customers to show up as well. Like all of our events, dress well and be discreet!
An electronic version of what sounds like an otherwise normal/average acoustic song someone would hear in passing, adds such a level of disconnected/disjointed familiarity to it. I see a lot "waking up from a mid-day nap and now it's night" analogy and I hate how I couldn't pin point why that was the best one for this.

So I need you to take care of it instead. Wear your uniform and get to NE 6th Street in 5 minutes, we don't want to keep the customers waiting. And as always, be discreet."

TriZ Best part is, thats a real place.
I bet they get Jacket wannabies every other day.
Thanks Hotline Miami.
Check Hotline Miami 2,Music more expanded as ever bro
AceItX I was just playing through hard mode on Hotline Miami 2.
AceItX I'm not pointing any fingers but. Dead Ahead was near impossible.
Opinion Onion I beat it on the vita,so fucking hard,I hate the VIPs in that level
AceItX Those are the fat guys, right?
This song is my favorite song of all time. When I listen to this song, all I think of is rot. Rot of the mind and spirit. A hangover after trying to drown your sorrows, taking a nap in the late afternoon or evening and waking up disoriented, waking up for another day of monotony and despair. Deep Cover is such an oppressive and murky song, and I couldn't love it more.
I don't know how to feel, it's like vibing while everything else is ruined, like having a party by yourself in a delapitated city, but it's still a bop
It's so good😭
Когда ты проснулся утром после болезни и пытаешься ходить
This song feels like being the last one on the bus after a long day just sitting, thinking, waiting. You don’t remember when you got on, how many stops there were, and you swear you’ve seen the same guy get off 3 different times
I love that people share what they think this song sounds like. In my opinion this song sounds like you are laying on an elevated surface (Hill,Roof of a car, Any kind of roof) in the peak of summer with the sun baking on your skin its the middle of the day its either weekend or you are on vacation you are completely alone while this song is blasting in your ears

Had this song stuck in my head the entire time I was in prison...
Why you were in prison bro?

"Do you like hurting other people?" aaah song 🗣️
This song is the feeling of being on a barren desert road. No civilization for the next 50 miles, either direction. Only the radio to keep company. It feels so alone, so distant, it's music played not from a band, but a soulless machine. You wish you could be around someone real, and not distant voices from wherever beyond, but it's still a long way ahead to the next stop. Nothing to do but drive on.
Real "Bus stop in the middle of bumfuck Arizona at 5 PM in the middle of Summer" vibes
i listen to this on repeat when i write and the words flow 10x better. i swear this song is magic
This song make any dirty room become a aesthetic rather than a dysfunction.
When you wake up from a nap and don’t know what time is it:
I set this as my morning alarm sound. I wake up feeling badass like jacket
LOOL I did the same thing
hawt
Jacket always felt like shit. After mindlessly killing he throws up and hallucinates half of the game. That's the way I think of him, some one who wants to cry but can only kill.
Damn, I should really do that. (if only I knew how)
i checked out this song speciffically
its deppresing as shit and its good for shitty mornings
This song just captures so many different emotions, feelings, vibes, this is just a truly unique song.
This song feels like walking through the halls at highschool in the morning when you're barley able to comprehend anything
[insert hotline miami quote]
+Scum of internet its on the house
+Scum of internet You got one new messange
I need to acquire a grasp on reality
+Scum of internet I was born with thick skin
Anomalous I was born with foreskin
*"You have one new message!"*
Ah, shit. Here we go again.
Dude I be chilling and listening to this, this is one of the best soundtracks in gaming history
So trippy... I love it! I could literally listen to this all day.
This feels like you work in the night shift in a big city and are seeing the sunrise through a bus windom going back home. Your life is monotonous and repetitive, but in these moments... feels good.
Who else just stayed up the whole night to sunrise, looking at the sun listening to this song is great.
Made this my alarm clock
Keep getting weird voice messages ever since that
have you been also getting those weird phonecalls?
U know that summer vibe, when u fell asleep too early, and waking up in 4-5 hours wothout any thoughts who are u and where u are
mouth thirsty and all sweaty too💀
i feel that.
@@GlowosИ лицо как у рыбы капли)
This feels like a song that would play when you give up and just lose your grip, in my opinion. When you just permanently disassociate and the days blur together. Like Jacket, killing day after day with no goal or objective to work towards.
i love the way the beat of the music merges together with the seconds going by

April 3rd 1989 was on a Monday. First day of the week :D
Nothing hits harder than driving home at 1:30 am to this
this song just pops into my head sometimes and reminds me of those lazy days in the past biking around abandoned parking lots and parks as the sun set.
when i was at the lowest point in my entire life this song perfectly describes how that feels
I remember how I fell asleep at midnight and woke up at 6 am (usually I sleep 8-9 hours). At that moment I felt normal and thought what the hell was this.
This gives me the feeling of one of those days that’s so hot you can look at like, the hood of a car and see the air distorting from the heat
I have this as my alarm because the tone of the song accurately represents my mornings lol
"Hello?"
"This is Hotline Miami. There's a couple of foreigners that want to arrange a funeral. Can you attend? Press 1 to accept, Press 2 to decline."
*looks to new chainsaw from Hardware store, presses 1*
"Thank you for accepting the arrangement. We hope you have a wonderful night!"
What? Is this supposed to be a reference to Hotline Miami or something?
I see this speech in some good HM movie
Don't worry about paying, man! It's on the house!
How it feels to roll out of bed at six o'clock on a Monday with a hangover:
idk why but this feels so nostalgic...
and yes, hotline miami brought me here
It's weirdly psychedelic like that.
The track sounds like the perfect alarm clock that plays at 7 am on a weekday after a hard drinking session
*_Then you have school in 30 minutes_*
“It's 'Dave' from Miami Pest Control. We need you. A client at sw 104th street is having vermin problems. Try to handle it as quick and swift as you can. Someone else will clean up for you after you leave. Make sure not to bother any of the neighbors.”
This song to me feels like waking up on a Saturday morning, or any morning without a care in the world. Maybe slightly hungover, maybe broke, but hey, you’re just making it and enjoying life 🤟
Shit, this video is 10 years old as of today 18/03/2021 or 03/18/2021... remember first seeing this song back 2016, time sure flies fast.
Прикольно сидеть уставившись в потолок и думать о всяком под эту музыку
This song plays on a loop in purgatory
I used to use this as an alarm to wake me up. So hearing this now gives such a strange feeling to me now.

An electronic version of what sounds like an otherwise normal/average acoustic song someone would hear in passing, adds such a level of disconnected/disjointed familiarity to it.
I see a lot "waking up from a mid-day nap and now it's night" analogy and I hate how I couldn't pin point why that was the best one for this.
this song has a weird sorta sticky feeling to it, it just feels humid listening to this
THIS SONG GIVES ME CHILLS EVERYTIME I HEAR IT
Every time I think about the past this song plays in my head
if 3 hours of sleep were a song
it sounds like gettting either 3 or 13 hours of sleep, and not anything in between
