I think FA-18 is suitable for INS VIKRANT as bcz the wings are designed for folding on an aircraft carrier whereas rafale can't fold its wings, it's a delta wing design which might cause shortage of space on the lift of INS VIKRANT.

Another very very important fact not to be neglected is the terms under which fighters will be offered for sale. If spare parts will be a problem because our foreign policy does not agree with the supplier country, a ban is likely etc. Both fighters are good and capable, more important at this point would be price and terms of conditions and use and freedom of use and spare parts, maintenance support without ANY strings attached. In light if these points Rafale would be the better options. France is proven to be a reliable defence partner, especially for fighter jets!

Rafael M & FA18 both are capable enough...Navy should not compromise with quality if they purchase any one of them. with Super Hornet we will get better connectivity with US platform like P8i, MH 60R Romeo....and with Rafael we get better availability because of the previously set up maintenance facilities & expertise by the IAF. To fill the capability gap untill TEDBF's induction Navy should consider any one of them.. both has their advantages.

Rafale M is much better, if only they can make few more changes according to India it will be best suited. The Only problem is cost of rafale is more than FA 18 but we should not negotiate over quality

@@koushikbhowmik02 But if quality comes at a very high cost, like with strings attached. Than one needs to weigh the options carefully. Geopolitics is a very dynamic field. One day a friend the next day an enemy! History shows that US geopolitics are very volatile. If you don't agree with them, then....you never know what they do! France in that respect is more stable and reliable in its geopolitics! I am sure the current government will consider all this. Jai Hind!
