I personally think it is once your classes start! Especially if you're in a dorm, too. Just the first 2 weeks of orientation are a little slow with meeting people, but don't be discouraged!
Hi, sorry for the late reply! No, they are not the same school. Parsons is part of The New School, which is completely separate from New York School of Design. Hope this clarifies some confusion!
Yes, I'm pretty sure if you sign up for student housing, then you are guaranteed it it. It's not really a hard process! When you apply you write down your top 3 dorm choices, with #1 being your top choice and #3 being your last choice. I would recommend having you roomates picked out before applying, just because it's easier (I found my roommates on the new students Facebook page). Hope this helps!
