Coldplay produced the song and Jin composed and wrote most of the lyrics. The guy you are hearing in the background vocals is Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of Coldplay. They performed this song live recently in Argentina.
Thanks for your reaction. Jin will be enlisting in the South Korean military for two years by the end of this year as it is mandatory of every South Korean male to do so. He made this song with Coldplay for the BTS fans (called the ARMY) and to let them know that he loves them and they will always be in his heart even if he has to be away for a while. The girl which is probably around 10 years old, represents the fandom which is also the length of time BTS have been in existence. I hope to see you react to more BTS soon.
Chris Martin from Coldplay Co wrote this song for Jin its basically a goodbye for now song telling the army how much he loves us. Army is bts fan base. Jin as apart of bts just letting you know.
@@UNCLEMOMO Chris Martin is one of the best people in music bis! He and Coldplay formed such friendship with BTS that is pure and warm, because they have same values.
This song is very emotional to the fans since jin is leaving for military for two years. He cowrote it with coldplay. The mv was shot both in the US and SKorea. bts are taking this time inbetween to release solo albums and music before their turn to leave for the military as well. BTS members are so diverse in their musical tastes. Only jin in bts could have pulled off a song from coldplay like this. Jin was also a long time fan of coldplay. RM, the leader, right now is working with pharrell, who he was a long time fan of. Rest of the members also have vastly different tastes. It brings so much to their team when the members are so different. Each bts song is a collaboration and teamwork of the members. Jhope has a pure 90s hiphop sound. You can easily tell when jhope has worked on a bts song because of the record scratching sounds he adds. He was the first member to release a solo album Jack in the box. Suga sounds underground. He has his own production style as well, which uses electronic guitars and pianos. V has a jazz vibe. Jk has strong rnb vocals, jimin sounds like alternate rnb. When bts reunites in 2025 after releasing their solo works, I can only assume they are going to sound more like bts. So that's really exciting
If you watch the live performance with Coldplay please play the small speech by Chris Martin first. Its less than 3 minutes. Then watch Jin's performance. It explains a lot.
Bts is the biggest group in the world, the have 6 nr 1 songs at Billboard 100 and 6 nr 1 Albums at Billboard 200, the have won Billboard Awards, Ama, Mtv, Vma. In 2919 the had 2 sold out concert at wembleys. The are 3 rappers and 4 vocalist and all dance, the write and produced there songs the sing in Korean/english but he have 3 all english songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission to dance, the was made during pandemic to cheer us fans up
Thanks for reacting . I have just subscribed. It doesn’t matter not remembering the name BTS. That was funny. I am 48 year old ARMY. Great message sent out by them and as a lyricist and musician myself their ability to hide deep meaning into a catchy song with impressive choreography is a talent way beyond their years. I see you react to things across the world from looking at your history. I love that. These guys cannot be put in the same group as Western boy bands. I hope you react to more. As a vocal teacher you will certainly enjoy the talent if nothing else. I look forward to it. What kind of music would you like to hear ? They cover a wide range of genres. Thankyou for getting to the bottom.
Also if you like his vocal, I strongly suggest to check YOURS. It's on ast that he sang for a k-drama and so freaking underrated. His vocals are top tier there. And another song from jin that you shouldnt missed is Abyss. He wrote that when he experienced a huge burnout. Another song is epiphany and awake. Both has live version that you should check too. I hope to see your other jin reaction in the future. Have a nice day!
I absolutely love how cinematic this video is! The song is absolutely heavenly, and is really personal (goodbye to the fans before his 2-year compulsory South Korean military service) but the lyrics can also actually apply to a lot of different situations.. the longing feeling but gratitude one can have for a loved one you have to be separted from (moving out, regulations, life circumstances , loss..) and the hope to reunite one day... It resonates quite a lot and moved a lot of people even if they are not ARMY
It's filmed in USA. I think they are proving that they are more than just a "Boy band". RM (bts leader) just did a interview/conversation with Pharrell, it's really interesting.
@@UNCLEMOMO yeah! You should really check Rolling stone RM Pharrell conversation! BTS are true artists, they break stereotypes of the boyband and many other stereotypes too.
The outdoor stuff was filmed in Southern California. I know that the neighborhood and city street stuff was filmed at Golden Oak Ranch which is owned by Disney. I'm not sure where the other outdoor stuff was filmed, but I assume if it wasn't at Golden Oak Ranch, it was nearby to there. The interior stuff was filmed in South Korea.
Thanks for this reaction. :) As others have said, it's a solo song by Jin, a member of the South Korean boy band BTS. BTS is consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers. They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop. All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them. Please, watch The Astronaut's live performance. After watching the music video, it'll be very touching to whatch Coldplay and Jin's live performance in Argentina. :) If you want a little backstory about the music video, Jin is an astrounaut(or alien) from another planet who crashed on Earth. He still wanted to back to his home planet, but the little girl represents ARMY who found him and gave him a home. When he has a chance to go back to his planet, he remembers the life he has spent with the little girl on Earth, realizes how happy it was and how much he loved it, and decides to stay on Earth. He's found his home is HERE. This song reminds me Jin's speech in 2018 MAMA. Jin said in his acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA that BTS suddenly became famous worldwide and had a hard time for a year due to great pressure and fear. They even thought about disbanding. However, after a year of talking and contemplating with the members, they decided to stay in the industry only for the fans and members. They stayed for ARMY even though they had a chance to return to their normal lives. And at the last concert in Busan, BTS member SUGA told ARMY to grow old together because they will do music activities for another 20 or 30 years. BTS' love for ARMY is very deep, and they always show their love through their music. The Astrounaut is one such song. :) Oh btw, Jin's neck in the music video at 3:50 says "ARMY" in Braille and the crossword puzzle (the black squares) means "FOR ARMY" in Braille. :)
@@UNCLEMOMO ... although there is also The Bangtan Universe, an alternative reality which lives in many of the MVs for a number of mostly (I think) their earlier songs. It's a complex story in which members play the roles of young people, not themselves, facing issues that many young people face, including abuse, mental illness, disaffection, bullying, lack of employment etc, and involving time travel and attempts to change the future. All of BTS music is deep, and many are much deeper than they appear, particularly to western listeners. The MVs usually reflect this, and many also have "hidden messages". For these reasons there are many excellent fan-made "explanation" videos which are well-worth exploring.
