RIP, Max. You will be greatly missed but the legacy of the greatest musical group ever heard, the Heritage Singers, will forever live on.
This is such a beautiful song, and a blessing to see and hear Max Mace singing in this quartet. It's possibly one of the last recorded songs of him singing with these talented musicians.

One of the greatest faith songs of all time. For me, really ranks up there. Maybe the best, and the best one Bill Gaither ever scripted. Is so because it summarizes what is far and away, the core message of the Bible, God's Word, in passionate song. ..............It really IS FINISHED (John 19:30), because Jesus really DID pay it ALL. All the sins of ALL mankind for ALL time. When He went to that cross, He transacted an INFINITE payment for an INFINITE offense against an INFINITELY holy God. Something we could NEVER do for ourselves; human merit could add not one particle of contribution to our salvation. Could not move one millimeter closer to Heaven by any meritorious thought or deed of our own. When He made that payment 2000 years ago, it was complete, not a single offense unaccounted for, not a single one. All of them: past, present AND FUTURE were blotted out, entirely atoned for. He suffered OUR hell so that we wouldn't have to. And THAT'S love folks. That's love. There is a lot of confusion out there today concerning the most important life issue any of us could ever face. A lot of voices claiming to speak for the Lord, but God's Word speaks for itself. God's FREE gift is indeed eternal life. Ours for the claiming as the song says. Thru faith alone in His shed blood, in Him and Him alone, apart from anything we could add. .......The vilest sinner will receive eternal life if they would but in a single moment rest their faith in His Work on Calvary. Simply believe God's promise, which is irrevocable. " Verily, verily I (Jesus) say unto you, He that believeth on Me HATH everlasting life " (John 6:47). God meant what He said and said what He meant........ John 1:12, 3:16, 5:24, 6:37; Romans 5:18; Hebrews 10: 10-14; Acts 4:12, 16:31, etc. God bless you all, and keep looking up because He's coming soon - the day of the Blessed Hope is drawing near (I Thes. 4:13 - 5:11).
