- Mirko Filipović, better known by his ring name Mirko Cro Cop, is a retired Croatian professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer, having fought in PRIDE, K-1, RIZIN, UFC and Bellator. Mirko's signature move was his lightning-quick left high-kick, once famously described as "Right Leg, Hospital; Left Leg, Cemetery." His nickname, Cro Cop, short for "Croatian Cop", comes from his time in the Lučko Anti-Terrorist Unit, Croatia's elite Police Special Forces tactical unit.
He is the 2006 Pride Open-Weight GP Champion, the 2012 K-1 World GP Champion and the 2016 Rizin Openweight GP Champion. He is also a former IGF Champion, and is widely considered one of the finest Heavyweight Kickboxers/MMA fighters of all time.
In March 2019, he announced his retirement due to pressing health reasons.

The rules in Pride, the time the fight took, the ring instead of the cage and the overall brutality of the event makes it a thousand times better than the ufc
The “vale tudo” era portrayed way better what combat is. I don’t give a shit if They call it a Sport or not. Fighting is way above a sport its spiritual in its nature. If most people want to Watch soccer, football or anything I get it. What warriors like cro cop used to do is not for the averege joe.
