So sad my Chinese family left Jamaica years ago . Why the Hakka people has to leave Jamaica. Being with family and sticking with family is so much more important than leaving
I'm not Chinese and don't understand the words but this is a great song. My in laws are Chinese and watch these videos on tv a lot. I remember how beautiful this song sounded.
Beautiful village song, it is about migration leaving behind love ones to the south of China = malaysia & indonesia, ameh = means mother in hakka, a bit hard to explain the whole song, a sad song + well sung.
@@samroad3such a beautiful song, resonates with all Chinese living and working overseas in foreign lands...looking at the moon, it looks the same where ever you are in the world...reminds them of their homeland.
Check the chinese character translation, it is quite accurate. But sometimes it is not the same words , as hakka and mandarin do not use the same word and expression!
On the 8th Moon 15 night, Moon is very bright Mother and I pray to the Moon I asked Mom where my ancestral land A Kong went to South Seas as a small kid Mother told me China is my ancestral land Bright Moonlight shines in 4 directions Bright Moonlight shines on my ancestral land Moon
