I love watching but don’t have the patience to learn all that’s required to make videos. Some of them would be at my hangar and I don’t need the Uncle Sam looking over my shoulder. Yeah he is noisy ,with lots of crap around. But would be happy to fix your washing machine. It would do a 60 minute wash in 45 minutes and the brightest whites you ever seen.

I could have used that chassis back in about 1982, when I had a wrecked 1962 Chevy C-10 step side that had that same setup. I ended up selling the bed, the motor, gearbox, wheels and tires and scrapping the rest.
Made good money on it. Drank it all, but I made good money.

I am 73 years old and when I was a teenager, they used to run those 292 engines at the dirt track and they would scream. I am thinking I have one of them in an old service truck in the barn.
I never lost the bug for buying stuff.
Just no room where I live in Oregon.
Going to the bunker this spring to check on my stuff and maybe sell some of my toy's.

Merlin this reminds me of a story. A friend of mine who i met at work in the early 2000 had a Wife who used to watch the Home Shopping Network. She would stay up at night while he was at work and watch the Network . What He did NOT know is she was buying EVERYTHING on the Channel. Somehow she Managed to spend OVEr $100,000 dollars of his money . Needless to say they are NOW DIVORCED!!

I put a 292 with a Carter 1-barrel, a 54 3/4 ton 4-speed, and a 57 Cadillac rear end in that 42 Chevy pickup I got from your Dad. I got clocked on radar doing over 125 racing, and beating, a Monte Carlo on my way home from Vegas. The cop let me go when he saw I only had a 6-cylinder. I told him he must have clocked the Monte Carlo that didn't stop. 292s rock!

Great video ! Similar story, my mom got mad at me and sold my first hotrod too when I was 16yo. I had a 74 Olds Omega 2 door with 350 motor and a turbo 350 trans.

What a grand lookin pickup, I might not be as old as it is, but I would look cool driving around Fairbanks in it, or that old diamond you drug home not so long ago. Love them old trucks..

My dad had a 66 chev pickup with that motor. Started driving it when I was 15
I need a 41 Ford pickup truck.My father had one for several years and would drive us to the drive-in with slicks on the back and t-bird engine in the front it's been so long I forget the size of the engine. I think it was a 408 if I'm not mistaken,but it was pretty massive and he had stacks coming out of the sides.By the time we got to the drive-in we were sick of smelling smoke from the tires burning. He wound up flipping it upside down into a tree doing a little bit of high-speed traveling when he was under the influence. Fortunately he survived but the truck didn't. And I think the police took it as evidence. To be honest I think the only thing that was majorly damaged was the top of the tree in someone's front yard right by my junior high in Midwest City Oklahoma. At the time we didn't have modern suspension so he hit a bump going probably only 50 mi an hour in a residential area. Unfortunately the truck took flight and it was front heavy to say the least. Anyway if anyone knows of a 41 they are very rare I would like to find my father's that's probably pretty much impossible but anyway I can dream. I love what you, it reminds me of me.ciao for now.

Got a 292 lonh block that was running but smoking a little and it was the last motor I change out. About 14 years ago and it's is setting outside on a pallet in the sand here in high desert. Not sure what rain and snow has rusted up. I can load it. It's free. A good anchor

I had to laugh when you described the spilt green coolant, "Looks like Lake Elsinore", yep, it does. I lived there 8-1/2 years in the late 80's and 90's. I had more fun on that lake. Except when the water would get that disgusting blue green algae on the surface that would stink to high heaven. It gave us a great excuse to drive 5 hours to Lake Havasu for clear water.
LOVE the old Chevy pickup! The only thing that would make it better would be if it was a Ford…

I’m hoping in 20 years my garage n shop will look like this. That’s if I’m able to buy the land and they don’t screw me on my lease. If so, I don’t know what I’ll do. Tear this house down and try to rebuild it on another plot of land? Idk. Worst case scenario.

hi do you not presure wash the truck to get rid of the dirt etc and then treat with some protection oil over the bare metal?
