I'm from Dayton and still live in Ohio. This style of build is definitely very common, especially in suburban areas. Outside of the larger cities there are a lot of older farm houses. A lot of Ohio is farmland. Ohio is also home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Museum of the United States Air Force. I loved all your fun facts!
I live in Queensland, Australia. I've always wanted an attic, or a basement, but neither are really much of a thing here. Suddenly, sooo glad there's no basements. :D :O
As an european i find this serie really intresting , maybe for the next one you could do a home for a first responder in minnesota or a loft in california
Native Ohioan here, born and bred. You nailed this house. This is absolutely correct. I chuckled at your "proper" sounding pronunciation of Akron. We say ak-RIN not ak-RON even tho it's spelled Akron 😂 there's a lot of that around here where local pronunciations outweigh what may be the "correct" pronunciation.
As an Ohio State student, it would've been so cool if the sports bedroom was red! the Ohio state football fanbase is the most intense thing I've ever seen and I primarily live in Connecticut so I grew up during the Patriots dynasty and it STILL doesn't compare to Buckeye Nation!!
OH-IO!!! GO BUCKS! I'm from Ohio and there definitely isn't anything like it when it comes to college ball. 😊 and we don't talk about those from the north... lol
Hey! Southeastern Ohio resident! You nailed this one! A lot of towns have houses like this! As other people have mentioned, the rural areas have more farmhouses and older sears style homes. Also, locals pronounce Akron as Ak-rin. Ohio is also known for having lots of state parks! The largest of which, Salt Fork State Park, is right here in my home county of Guernsey! The lake, Salt Fork Lake, was actually man made, and was built using eminent domain, forcing farmers that had lived in the area where the lake sits now to move. Some say that the roads that used to run through there are still underneath the water, and that the area around Salt Fork is haunted by the farmers who used to farm the land. Ohio actually moved its state capital 3 times! The first capital was Chillicothe and was the state capital from 1803-1810, when the capital was moved to Zanesville for two years, only to be moved back to Chillicothe, before moving Columbus in 1816. Last fact that I know of: Despite being the largest city, Columbus does not have the tallest building in the state. That honor belongs to Cleveland! Key Bank Tower in Cleveland is the tallest building in the state of Ohio, but it may be passed up by the Sherman Williams HQ (also in Cleveland), once it is completed! I think it’d be really cool if you done Iowa next! It’s a very neat state and I’m actually looking to move there in a couple years!
this is super late, but i had to comment when i saw that you’re from Guernsey county! i was born in Cambridge, still have family there, and have been to Salt Fork many times! 😆 it’s a beautiful area and i still miss it. i loved reading the facts you shared… i even learned something new about my home state. 😁
As someone who knows nothing about the US states, this has been super fascinating! The build looks really cool and the facts are super fun. It's be cool to see California or Texas next
I was born and spent my early years in Ohio. I moved back a few years ago to an area outside Akron, Ohio. I see many houses like the one you built. I also see ones that are duplexes of the one you built, you know, the same house side-by-side. This is mainly an industrial area around here and I think these houses were originally built by the company’s to house their employees. I often see people sitting on their front porches in the evenings in the summertime.
I have a lot of family from the Ohio/Kentucky area and my grandma's house looks just like this!! Would love to see a North Carolina home at some point, I'm a NC native and all the old southern homes makes me feel so cozy ♡
If you do North Carolina you should do a house that looks like the homes from the historic neighborhoods in Charlotte and Raleigh. They are super pretty and unique
I'm originally from Michigan, but I currently live in NC. I swear you either see mobile homes, crazy big mansions, or just a cute cottage style home. I've seen all different kinds of homes in this beautiful state. But those are the most common. I think North Carolina would be a super interesting build!
I think for South Carolina you could definitely do a neoclassical/french colonial style country/plantation house, a colorful charleston style townhouse (generally a tall long narrow rectangle with the short side facing the street), or a little contemporary beach bungalow (also can be colorful as down here on the coast the houses are colorful and attract tourists). I will say, if you go beachy, i see a lot of houses here that are elevated off the ground and generally only the garage is on the ground floor with a stair case leading up to the front door on the second story. Very minimalist designs with tall windows and coastal decor (the southern moms love their fish net curtains and beach life pillows)😂 And pretty much for any style of house we love a good amount of balconies, columns, palms, and flower bushes.
I was born and raised on the East side of Toledo. You are bringing back my childhood with this house. I kinda wished you would have used growing together wallpaper, there's this one that looks like assault and most houses in the area are over 100 yrs old and that's what they used. Also Toledo is known as The Glass City. Ohio became the main industrial hub for the burgeoning glass industry in the late 19th century. They made everything from ketchup bottles to astronaut suits. Thank you for all of your builds but this one is close to my heart ❤️
Twenty One Pilots originated in Ohio and both members have homes in the state! If you plan on doing Missouri, St. Louis has a bunch of unique architecture like Tudor style homes in the Holly Hills neighborhood and beautiful homes near the Washington University Campus.
As a STL native I agree!! Even if you don’t pick that exact style Missouri is so eclectic! The town with the burning coal mine is what Silent Hill is based on and I feel like if you research Missouri we’re gonna end up with a creepy build thanks to all our horror and gore!
I cannot wait to see a New Jersey one! There are so many different styles to choose from in the state. From Ocean view mansions to North Jersey apartments and townhouses, ranch styles along the shore, and a lot of farmland and horse ranches! I cannot wait to see NJ 👀
I would really love to see Illinois. Specifically Chicago. I think when most people think of Chicago it's just the big city and down town, but there are so many unique neighborhoods that are still in the city but not down town or in the suburbs. Like single family homes all very densely packed together. I think of long and skinny homes with small back yards with a garage going out into an ally.
the new straitsville coal miners strike fire burning for 140 years is probably the craziest cool thing ive ever heard. furthermore, i googled it and they say it may continue on for another 250 years!
pretty specific request, but when you do indiana, can you put in some board games/tabletop game themed stuff? it's the home of gencon, the biggest tabletop gaming convention in the whole u.s., and it'd be a really fun easter egg :]
so many houses in detroit/pontiac look just like this too -- you did such a beautiful job!! it's making me homesick even though i'm already home. :') in my neighborhood there are a ton of craftsmen style houses that were built in the 1920s, ranches from the 70s, and 90s family homes. excited to see what you choose for michigan!
Ohio has the flavour of a water chestnut. (Relient K reference) I lived in Cbus for about 15 years, and there's a lot of box houses and craftman houses. I miss it! You're making me homesick for Ohio!
I love the state series and am glad it's continuing ❤ so hoping for Alabama next 😍 I lived there for a year and can't wait to see what you come up with for that state. ❤❤❤
From Tennessee here, not much I can think of that stands out, however there is a recreated castle on I840 where the yearly renn fair is taken place. It’s called “Castle Gwynn”. It has a super interesting history to it and is actually where Taylor swifts love story video was recorded. It’s a recreation of a 12th century welsh castle and its construction started in 1980, it has a heap of antiques and 16th century swords in the home. Definitely not common architecture or homes in TN, but could be an interesting thing to play with and try and do a nod too in the build!
I feel like I’m actually seen this house when driving through Ohio. Some Ohio fun facts: - One of their rivers caught on fire - Camp Perry, an army base (I think) holds these really big shooting competitions for Air Rifle and Smallbore. I believe it’s also where the Army Marksmanship Team practices. - It’s home to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and has a ring from every Super Bowl - Cincinnati’s quarterback, Joe Burrow, is considered the most attractive quarterback in the NFL - The Cleveland Browns have never even appeared in a Super Bowl - It’s where I got my dog, Riot, a chocolate lab that I love
“I never really thought about where Ohio was.” As a native, I try not think about it. 😆 Great build btw and totally accurate. It’s very similar to my place.
I would love to see south carolina!! I grew up in Charleston but there's a lot of interesting homes in SC! A big cabin for north carolina would be awesome as well!
For Illinois, what about a build that you see a lot of in and around the Chicagoland area? It's a brick bungalow, usually with an attic second floor and always with a basement. Typically, the front of the house has a bowed window and it's common they are stained glass at the top. There are thousands of homes built this way in and around where I live. It's very common in residential areas of Chicago, also common in the west and south suburbs.
I'm Canadian but I still really love this series!!! Your videos are so fun!!! I don't think I heard Florida in your "done list", and I think that would be a really cool state to see you build. From my understanding, there's lots of different lots of architecture there so it might be fun for you to research, too!
Nc & Sc are sister states and it might be cool to do two coastal beach homes, but they have different personalities. Plus since the wright brothers took flight in kitty hawk, nc (on the beach) it would fit! ❤
You should do Illinois! And probably look into Chicago houses would be most popular! Bigger houses could probably be found in Oakbrook or Naperville area.
Although not technically a state, Washington DC would be fun to see! There’s some interesting architecture here from Victorian or Federal style row houses to the larger Renaissance Revival Homes, would love to see your spin on it :) You could also try tackling the McMansions of northern Virginia if you’re up for it lol
Just looking at the outside, I could place it the neighborhoods in the Cleveland area! Love it. I also thought it was so funny how you were pronouncing Akron. We pronounce city names so silly here! It’s actually pronounced ACK-RIN 😂
i hope when california comes around, you do a build inspired by the bay area or san joaquin valley! the center our the state often gets forgotten, especially the central valley, even though we feed the majority of the country and a lot of the world too. if you did take inspo from the bay area, i would love to see Not a san fransisco townhouse, rather something more along the lines of an average seaside home! something you'd see in santa cruz :]
Woahhh idk why but it surprises me you haven’t done Cali yet (probably cus I’m from there) butttt I definitely think you should do a California house built!! I’m looking forward to see what type of housing you do since I feel like there’s quite a few different housing styles
i love the way you make roofs! they’re put together in a way i never think of, very innovative. do you look at references or does it come from your head?
I like the Michigan idea, although I am from California. To look at houses from the country for Michigan, you can watch "The Incredible Dr. Pol"! I would have suggested California, but, but, but! There are a few styles in this state. The Frank Lloyd Wright house would be Iconic, but not many homes look like that, businesses, not homes. Then there are the 'Fairy tale homes' in Monterey, LA, and San Diego. And you have the 'Painted Ladies' in San Francisco. The Ranch houses in the Central Valley, and the Beach-vacation home look up North. We are insane here! >.
Please please pleaseeeee do Maryland next!!!✨✨✨✨ there’s so many fun facts about my state, esp with 4th of July coming up. I would love to see something based on the Chesapeake Bay side homes they are so gorg ❤️❤️❤️❤️🦀
Whenever you do get to Michigan, don't forget the creepy Michigan Basement that a lot of our homes have!
I second this, concrete walls, half concrete floors, half dirt. Wooden columns randomly placed for structure. One light. 😅
@@brianakopicko1026ah, the classic horror game/movie basement 😂
I live in Queensland, Australia. I've always wanted an attic, or a basement, but neither are really much of a thing here.
Suddenly, sooo glad there's no basements. :D :O
As an european i find this serie really intresting , maybe for the next one you could do a home for a first responder in minnesota or a loft in california
Going into summer, Michigan would be a cool one to do with all the lakes surrounding it. The summer trips to the lakes are the best!
I was thinking MI also!
i’ve been trying for months to get MI! lol A cute little beach cottage would be adorable
Ohio Realtor here! You nailed it 👌🏼😊 I’ve lived here my whole life and you’ve taught me some stuff 🤣
Wow, thanks!

I love it when you make the basements also into underground living places!❤
As an Ohio Buckeye myself. You did great, Tonya!
I love seeing the comments of people from Ohio saying how accurate this is. I can’t wait for you to do Tennessee!!
As someone who knows nothing about the US states, this has been super fascinating! The build looks really cool and the facts are super fun. It's be cool to see California or Texas next

Great idea!
Good one! My favourite band (walk the moon) is from Ohio so I have a warming feeling towards this state
I cannot wait to see a New Jersey one! There are so many different styles to choose from in the state. From Ocean view mansions to North Jersey apartments and townhouses, ranch styles along the shore, and a lot of farmland and horse ranches! I cannot wait to see NJ 👀

Born and raised right outside of cleveland this build is super accurate and gorgeous!
Wow, thank you!
Clevelander here, you did a fantastic job! I’m a big fan of your state series in general, can’t wait to see more of them!
I would love to see Minnesota as we approach summer! There are so many lakes and outdoor activities!
the new straitsville coal miners strike fire burning for 140 years is probably the craziest cool thing ive ever heard. furthermore, i googled it and they say it may continue on for another 250 years!
I've been waiting for jersey!! Specifically older builds from the Princeton area are beautiful
I adore this series! I would like to see New Jersey with Cape May style architecture!
I was born in have lived in Ohio my entire life. I have lived both in Toledo and Cleveland and these could not be more spot on!

I lived in Cleveland Ohio for 6 years. This is so spot on ! Great build
Carpeted bathrooms are the worst 😅 Having been to Ohio, this house really nails the style. Such a fun video, enjoyed your facts as well! ☺
If you ever visit you should come to the Ohio Renaissance Festival! It’s one of the best in the country
I just want to say I LOVE your builds! I watch a lot of sims builders and you’re my favorite. I always put ur builds in my worlds!
Nailed it, more of the older style Ohio homes. From Columbus live in Cincinnati right near Kings Island.
As a native Ohioan, you did a great job! This looks like some houses around my area.
Ohio has the flavour of a water chestnut. (Relient K reference)
I lived in Cbus for about 15 years, and there's a lot of box houses and craftman houses. I miss it! You're making me homesick for Ohio!
This is so good! It definitely looks like houses I’ve seen in the Cleveland area when I was there!
As an Ohioan, I have seen these house thousands of times
I love this series! Perhaps Notable North Carolina? With possibly a colonial house or a beach house! ❤
I love the state series and am glad it's continuing ❤ so hoping for Alabama next 😍 I lived there for a year and can't wait to see what you come up with for that state. ❤❤❤
Now this is a classic Midwest home! Absolutely beautiful!!

I'd love you to do Hawaii next. I love this series so much
Love this! For Nevada, it would be really cool to see you do a rustic style build inspired by the old mining towns such as Virginia city.
Yay! My home state!! Whoop whoop! Love the build! I would love to see you tackle Hawaii!
“I never really thought about where Ohio was.” As a native, I try not think about it. 😆 Great build btw and totally accurate. It’s very similar to my place.
i'm from europe so it's very fun for me to see how different the houses are in the us!
i love these! i’m from the carolinas so a southeastern build would be cool!
I love this series. Hopefully Oklahoma comes soon
I’ve lived in Ohio all my life! You did a great job! Coming from a native that lives in Ohio!
Awesome! Thank you!
You’re very welcome!
Love this series so so much! Cannot wait for you to do New Jersey! ❤😊
Thank you for the playlist. I've missed a few of those.
Yes! I’m so happy you decided to do another state build again! Next one you should California or maybe even your home state!
I would really like to see you do the state of Georgia. It was my favorite place to live! I enjoy your state series, thank you so much!
such a lovely house, thank you for sharing it with us! 🤩
Maryland would be cool! There’s a lot of geographic variety in the state so it’d be interesting to see which style you go with
can’t wait to see NJ! curious what route you’ll go with style because we definitely have a lot of different ones 😅
im from northeast ohio and you nailed it
I would love to see south carolina!! I grew up in Charleston but there's a lot of interesting homes in SC!
A big cabin for north carolina would be awesome as well!
Excited for Tennessee!
Oh my GOSH٫ even just from the thumbnail and the opening shot; the house is BEAUTIFUL!! 😍🥰 Iowa next PLEASE💖💖💖
Looking forward to seeing Indiana! ❤
I enjoy this series so much! Would love to see a California build, maybe inspired by the San Francisco homes 😊
Love, love, love the idea of this series!
I was going to comment about a Chicago Bungalow as well for IL. I think it would be a nice challenge
This is fantastic! I would love to see you tackle Virginia next! Another state who birthed 8 presidents!
I'm Canadian but I still really love this series!!! Your videos are so fun!!! I don't think I heard Florida in your "done list", and I think that would be a really cool state to see you build. From my understanding, there's lots of different lots of architecture there so it might be fun for you to research, too!
Aww thank you! Florida is actually one I have done already! ❤
Can't believe you did Ohio before Michigan! Our mortal enemy!! (just joking, please do Michigan soon)
When you do Michigan, do something on the west coast of the state! It’s the prettiest part by far!
Nc & Sc are sister states and it might be cool to do two coastal beach homes, but they have different personalities. Plus since the wright brothers took flight in kitty hawk, nc (on the beach) it would fit! ❤
Mississippi would be a good idea too!! i live here and we have some interesting architecture
From toledo and this was so sick to watch :D you did so good!
You should do Illinois! And probably look into Chicago houses would be most popular! Bigger houses could probably be found in Oakbrook or Naperville area.
Although not technically a state, Washington DC would be fun to see! There’s some interesting architecture here from Victorian or Federal style row houses to the larger Renaissance Revival Homes, would love to see your spin on it :)
You could also try tackling the McMansions of northern Virginia if you’re up for it lol
I grew up in Ohio! This house looks sooooooooo much like the house I grew up in as a child.
The first man on the moon is from Ohio! Neil Armstrong! Its one of the first things we learn in our ohio history class lol
I’d love to see some more southern states, Louisiana could be interesting!
Just looking at the outside, I could place it the neighborhoods in the Cleveland area! Love it. I also thought it was so funny how you were pronouncing Akron. We pronounce city names so silly here!
It’s actually pronounced ACK-RIN 😂
Magical Minnesota house when?
I LOVE this series lol. I look forward to Virginia! (Where I’m from) so good!
Wow its such a cute build. Im inspired now for sure ❤
You should definitely do my state 😌 Iowa . A lot of pretty houses here!
I would love to see your interpretation of a South Carolinian Home.. Love your videos and have a few of your builds in my current save file!!!!!!
i hope when california comes around, you do a build inspired by the bay area or san joaquin valley! the center our the state often gets forgotten, especially the central valley, even though we feed the majority of the country and a lot of the world too. if you did take inspo from the bay area, i would love to see Not a san fransisco townhouse, rather something more along the lines of an average seaside home! something you'd see in santa cruz :]
Love that the sports bedroom for Ohio is blue 😏 go blue!
Anyways love this and would love to see Georgia next!
I would love to see Nebraska! I grew up in Nebraska (currently living in IA) and would love to see your take on it 😊
Can you do Minnesota next?! The duluth area?! I'd love to see your vision of this area! It's where I'm from!
i would love to see new jersey! i feel like we don't have a typical style so i'd love to see what you do!!
Woahhh idk why but it surprises me you haven’t done Cali yet (probably cus I’m from there) butttt I definitely think you should do a California house built!! I’m looking forward to see what type of housing you do since I feel like there’s quite a few different housing styles
Requesting Minnesota, we have a ton of cabins here and lakes which would be great for summer.
i love the way you make roofs! they’re put together in a way i never think of, very innovative. do you look at references or does it come from
your head?
I love this build so much even though I don’t live in Ohio this is so cute! You should do Alaska next! ❤❤
I actually already did Alaska! You can find it in the playlist ❤
my new fave build from you!!
PLEASE DO CALIFORNIA OR INDIANA!!!!❤❤ All it needs is a basement for tornadoes!
