Brother because of you, I bought a complete DS18 package speakers for my chrysler 300. Replaced all 9x speakers and added 4x bullet tweeters. I love the setup. Thank you sir.
Hertz 200sx on my Harley lasted 2 minutes crossed over @100hz, was running 300 rms. They couldn't handle it. 3 were fine. One fried. I have the DS18 cf 8inch and hanles 300 rms no problem! DS18 was 60 dollars each. Hertz was 275 each! DS18 rocks!
Different speakers for different applications. If you're throwing alot of power and going for spl, ds18. If you're looking for a daily and just want some good sound not playing at max all the time, go with the DB.

Infinity is around 55$ renewed in amazon whereas alpine arouns 100$.is it worth it buying alpine or the infinity which is best?
DB sounds def. fuller. The DS needs a tweeter. Prob don't need a tweet with the DB. What is higher quality DB the Apocalypse or Machete? What is the difference?
I think your misunderstanding how sensitivity ratings are supposed to work. You said because the DB m80's had a sensitivity rating of 92db and it would play louder than the ds18, until you reach a power level greater than the DB's can handle then the ds18's would start to play louder. Yes the ds18's should play louder with more power. But if the claimed sensitivity ratings are correct the ds18's with a rating of 97db at 1 watt should be almost three times louder than the DB m80's with a rating of 92db a 1 watt, at any watt level. If the ratings are correct the ds18's should be louder a 1watt, 100watts, or 1000watts. From what I heard assuming there was no microphone cut (and I'm not watching on a phone I've got a little over 30 grand in my home theater) the DB m80's would have to have the higher sensitivity rating atleast in real life.

Mm80’s were discontinued about 3 years ago)) Now DB has a lot better speakers
