Through out the video, Jimin is portraying emotional struggles of inner lights & darknesses of each member as an artist, an idol as well as a human being! That is why when each member’s solo part of scene, Jimin would dance as their shadow at the back ground to show each member’s emotional changes, expressing their inner struggles & pain through his dance movements as their shadow!
This is a beautiful MV & all the BTS members did amazing job!!! They truly are remarkable harmonized group of young artists!
It would have been more wonderful if their outfits of dancing scenes were not the suits but something more suitable for dancers outfit to easy their movements & show their beautiful outlines of the dance movements! Because with these spectacular artistic lighting effects they were using, it would have been wonderfully emphasized each member’s beautiful outlines of their dance movements so perfectly!!!

If it helps you Jimin is the dancing shadow, when Yoongi is singing, you didn’t noticed but when Namjoon is singing there’s also a dancing shadow in the roof that’s Jimin too... and he’s the shadow in the end too, if you noticed at the end the Black Swan (aka Jimin) is injured, tired, unhappy and he falls on the ground, that’s JK watching the Black Swan fall (death kinda). If you know about that black and white swans fight you know what I mean...

The shadow dancing is Jimin. The shadow off to the right is Suga. The shadow above RM is also of Jimin dancing.

Jimin is the black swan, the shadow. BTS came to terms with their black swan/shadow and so it disappears. What we see now are BTS that both artists and human beings in one.

Jimin as the black swan represents the shadow, that's why he's been singled out (and he's the only contemporary dancer anyway) and has the wings, this video is an homage to the movie black swan and jimin literally represents nina, the main character of the movie, you can see the journey of him going from the white swan to the black swan. Also the shadow behind yoongi and jungkook (at the end) is jimin.

they are focusing on jimin because he is the only one who can dance in this style, I think they are telling story about the 7 of them being black swan, because we saw in the past that V was the closest one to be the black swan, so all of them representing the black swan✌️

It was fake love and not Blood sweat and tears. The part with Hobi and Suga. In fake love, Suga goes down the line as he raps and they are fighting, when he meets the end of the line it is Hobi and pulled away from him even then. And Jimin is the Black Swan. Back when they watched the first version of Black Swan, you heard Suga say, that they need Jimin. What Yoongi wants, Yoongi gets.

I think the shadow leaving at the end of the mv has something to do with the person & shadow becoming one (represented by JK). So BTS has come to terms with their shadows and what we see are complete persons with all the strengths, weakness, greatness, faults, joy & sadness. BTS members as superstars and as human beings are just the same persons.

3:03 I think that is Jungkook’s shadow dancing. In all their live versions Jungkook is right beside Suga, representing his shadow I believe. As for the shadow on the right it’s definitely Suga’s, you can see it aligns with him.

If you have watched Black Swan the movie you'll see how there are things similar to that of the music video like for example, the stage, its really similar to the one in the movie and the mirror reference; a mirror reveals the hidden identities, in the movie when the girl(Nina) looks at herself in the mirror, it reflected the illusion of an evil, it presented to her the darkness within herself that metaphorically depicted the evolution into the black swan. It speculates the power of the mirror as our source of definition or its reflection that reveals a true identity from our subconscious that we often conceal. Nina is an innocent, fragile girl and she dances the white swan really well, but she always gets stuck at the black swan as its character is of lust, guile and sensuality. The wings on the girls arms meant she and the black swan were one, contending for perfection, it was attained through anger, seduction and aggression. Although her plight contributed to insanity by the hardships of competition and pressure, she lost herself to "perfection" on the stage as the Black Swan, not by practice and technique but by passion derived from the reserved darkness within. The girl contended with the attempt to dance both roles(white swan and black swan) of opposite ability, style and personality which forced her to insanity to see illusions of her double or Lily(a girl she personified as the black swan, she was a reflection of Nina's concealed wickedness), hwr insanity derived from the impossibility of darkness and light to coincide at her will to dance both roles. Darkness was a cost from the plight of perfection that concluded with a suicidal death. Nina, the whire swan was eventually set free.
In the BS&T japanese version in the beginning there is a scene that shows jungkook getting up from a mattress, turning and lookimg down at the blood stain of the wings on the mattress, in the movie it showed that Nina often lost control and scratched herself on her back where the wings come out and she usually did it in her sleep and would wake up to see blood..
This is getting very long so I'll just cut it short..
In my opinion in the mv, Jimin dancing shows how he is trying to be perfect in his role of the black swan, and the part where his wings come out shows how the black swan is in control of him now, Yoongi's part where there is a shadow behind him dancing, I feel that its Jungkook's shadow, I've talked about the mirror part already, the last part with Jungkook tho I guess it represents how he thought he killed the black swan but killed himself and met freedom like in the movie Nina stabs what she thinks is her dark self with a broken mirror but actually stabs herself/the white swan...
im gonna stop now as its 4am and I have lost many braincells by now...
In Blood Sweat and Tears, it was only the statue but no wings. In Black Swan, the statue is not there, but the wings are present.

The building is a historical theater in LA. BTS filmed Black Swan MV and ON MV (maybe both ON videos) , and practiced/performed for the Grammys in just a few really busy days.

Thank you so much, Aaron, for noticing, and pointing it out, that JIMIN appears to be the only BTS member who doesn't have a closeup!! There have even been some reactors who didn't even know it was Jimin dancing since he's usually dancing in the shadows with not much light on him!! Or he is the actual shadow!! Haha! What a shame, that we're denied closeups of only Jimin, because Jimin has such a beautiful face, and I kept waiting to see it!!! Also, being that Jimin is known for his so expressive face & eyes during performances, his eyes & facial expression might indeed have revealed or conveyed certain feelings that would have possibly added to his dance characters role!! Similar situation in the BTS "On" MV where if you blink you might miss his closeup or even seeing him on screen!! Both this time, and for the "On" MV, Jimin's face is mainly shown, if at all in side profile!! How utterly sad & disappointing!! Most strange!!

For random ppl who will see this video they can't even tell that it was Jimin dancing those solo part. Will it be ruin the MV if they showed at least Jimin's front profile even on that part when all the members has given each close up shots. Being Jimin is our bias we also love to see his beautiful visual so do not come to ppl who are complaining for not seeing his close ups on this MV. And call them hilarious!

@@Zay-cv3sg no one actually knows what exactly Jimin is representing here about the "shadow" coz in most part he was wearing white, but still the filming didn't showed his face which is such a shame as we all know Jimin has an ability to show an emotion to the role he is being portrayed. So sad that we missed that part! How we love to see his beautiful facial expression while dancing emotionally. Though as I've said it must be part of the concept. I believe the OP was particularly talking about the part when each member are being close up individually & but they only showed his side profile which you can't even recognized him as Aaron pointed out you can't clearly see his face unlike the rest of the members. Besides expressing opinions isn't bad. This is how we felt after watching the MV but that doesn't mean that we don't appreciate it and of course we'll still support it! At least so glad that all of them has a shining moment. Please let me clarify this isn't similar to those ppl who constantly complaints about the "screentime" which I find more hilarious.
