nikkit, Sukhoi's are the most beautiful aircraft in the world. Yes, they don't have stealth(yet)but purely as a flying machine they are unsurpassed. These planes have rewritten the books on flying! And still there are people calling them crap! Wich is so wrong. Everytime i look at them i still fall in love all over again. Keep up posting video's of these beautiful and one of a kind aircraft! Thank you!
Su 27 and its variations are simply amazing. I am sure, that the Last Flanker (Su 27BM or Su 35) can stand up to both the F-35 and the F-22. Pak-Fa is going to be a great fighter. But nothing will ever be as beautiful and maneuverable as the Flanker, which even without canards and TVC can perform maneuvers, others only can dream of.
franky..Your points are very intelligent and thought out...you do know your facts. I would have to admit that the Su's are very capable combat aircraft, and unmatched in aero-maneuverability. Unless the F22 and SU's ever hold simulation combat scenarios, the outcome will always just be a point for everyone to argue. Too bad that our countrys can't become ultimate freinds against a common enemy without questioning each others ulterior motives....
I am always amazed when ever I see Russian technology.Soviet war apparatus was kept behind iron curtains,so the world didnt know what soviets had at that time. Now we know how technologically advanced Russians are.Really I am surpirised about thier jets, submarines which have swimming pools, aircraft carriers, tanks.wow
shelldawv, What i also find typical is this: When i post something first many Americans don't agree and call names and insults. When they do research about it and find that it's true this happens: 1.They don't react anymore. 2.When they react they try to make it insignificant by downsizing it! But if it were in U.S favor they would brag about it! And that's not being open minded at all.
just came back from watching US airshow videos, and holy crap, Su planes are intimidating. Look at the paint scheme: it is mostly ground-camouflage; so what it says is "once this gets in the air, it doesnt matter if you see it or not".
For those still doesn't know yet this vid contain kapitan igor tkachenko piloting legacy,he perish in mishaps in one of the fighter Cy acrobatic traning day before MAKS 2009. RIP in Piece Kapitan...
NUMBER OF TOMAHAWK WAS over 20, unit of my father shot down 1, and he was MAJOR located near the BELGRADE on mountain AVALA. I personaly saw how, two cruise misiles are shot down. I dont't know for shoting down of F 15, but remains of F 16 and F 117 are in Serbia and Russia!
Sorry about the earlier comment, I did not mean to get emotional. My sources were from Indian newspapers who quoted from American sources. You can try to dig some up form google, and I believe the exercise was called "Cope India 2004." The aircraft flown by the Indians were actually the Su 30 MK, a step down from the MKI, plus the fact that IAF outnumbered the Americans is true, probably trying to simulate numerical superiority when America faces a real threat like Iran or China (god forbid).
racerx11080, A F-15 was hit but made it back to base. Just like the second F-117 did after it was hit. This F-117 never flew again. It was damaged beyond repair.
racerx11080, ""I dont't know for shoting down of F 15,"" I reacted to your doubt about a F-15 being shot down. To my conformation about the F-15 that was shot i added what happened with a second F-117 that was shot. There for i do not understand your reaction to my post because i know there were more planes downed. If you read correctly you see that i say "second" F-117.
the Russians actually laid down two carriers, but only commissioned one (the Admiral Kuznetzov). She operates SU-33s and is based in the Northern Fleet.
this video proves again that russia owns the most beatiful jets on earth...nice video! Only once I've seen a MiG-29 IRL but that was in the nineties when the Bundeswehr used to have them after the fall of the SU.
shelldawv, I'm a great fan of Russian aircraft. I love them! And the SU-47 would be the ultimate close combat fighter if it went in to service. Wich it doesn't. It's a technology demonstrator. But the F-22 can't be touched at this moment. Especially in BVR. People should be realistic about that.
I love those Sukhois. They are beautiful, agile and deadly, especialy in close air combat. Though i do think the F/A-22 and maybe even the F-35 are the deadlier planes overall. However, even a Pilot of an F/A-22 should not underestimate one of those Sukhois and try to stay BVR or avoid the fight completely if possible. They're just to cool to try and shoot down anyway.
Although i have a perference for american planes (my favorite being the f-18) i do admire some russian jets such as mig-29 and su-family. I also have great respect for the russian corporations such as Mikoyan and Sukhoi that are able to build great planes even though their budget is way lower than american corporations such as lockheed martin.
SwissJustMe, You mean the Zvezda K-36D ejection seats. The U.S has bought the license to build them for the U.S airforce or use it's features in their own design.
shelldawv, I sometimes say that Cold War 2 has already started. Right here on You Tube! MAT really makes me laugh! I think that he's very colorful. He sure knows how to keep things alive.
The Su-27 (and its many variants) are amazing. The Russians are on par with the West composites and aerodynamic design. A fight between Su-37s and F-22s would be decided by BVR missiles. Fancy maneuvers by the Su-37 would only help in a close-range fight, one the F-22 would avoid. The Russians have superb pilots and equipment, but lack truly stealthy aircraft and a C3I that can match the USAF. I'm American, but I hold the Su-27 family high regard. Oh, and maverick4422, you can kiss my arse.
UnKn0wn86, I know what you mean! Some Americans bash Russian equipment all the time. It's called arrogance and underetimation of Russian equipment! They are brought up thinking that the U.S is everything! They are so wrong because Russia leads in many fields of military equipment! Russia does not have them in the numbers they had in the cold war but the quality is second to none!
2)Hornburg, speaking to reporters, called the results of the exercise "a wake-up call" in some respects, but he declined to provide details, other than to suggest the Indian air force scored several unexpected successes against the American planes.
Ok aren't interceptors like Mig-31 supposed to engage bombers mostly, then maybe fighters. I was writing this as the MiG-31 powerful radar can even distinguish the very slight signal the F-22 and/or B-2 produces, at least according to the producers.
russian carriers aren't lame. they actually have a many advantages over nimitz class carrier. ski jumps do not put stress on the aircraft which would cut down aircraft matainence hours and save money in the long run. also ski jumps give planes a positive Angle of attack which assists in take off.
@alexrj2 Sukhoyi called SU, there are were many of them - SU 27, SU 33, SU 34... you can always distinguish them from another - they are beutiest ever!
shelldawv, I know it's a long time ago but the U.S has no aircraft that can match the aerodynamics and symetrical airflow of the Sukhoi. If the Sukhoi would have 20 degrees nozzle movement like the f-22 it would turn faster then the F-22. The F-22's 5 degrees more just shows the Sukhoi's superiour areodynamics. It's superiour aerodynamics compensates the lack of the 5 degrees nozzle movement compared to the F-22.
frankyspeak..your first comment was about an airshow in 1989..how many tech advancements have there been since then..? The US experimented with thrust vectoring since the early 90's (X-31..F15 MTD..etc.) but found that the maint. involved limited aircraft air hours. They found that 3'D wasn't as advantageous as advanced avionics...easier to shoot down enemys from a distance with STEALTH, then close combat wasn't in the equation..so 5 deg difference doesn't even matter...
Is it me, or did shelldawvs comments were deleted?...Oh and by the way, shellgeek, all of the youtube comment email notifications from you ended in spam box. You really do know how to do that xD
(the ideal EM pulse has no carrier frequency) it would be nice if soviet engineers told us what frequencies they really use, but they won't. and since soviet radar has been more advanced than ours for the past few decades, it is logical to assume that if I can come up with a solution, they did too. much of this is in the DSP software anyways.
I love that BMW-Su27 comparison. I think everyone agrees (except some americans) that the Sukhoi family brought the avaiation world to a new age. Even the F-22 was designed to beat it. Get your facts right, the f-15 has a perfect record for sure, but the Su-27 has too, killed many Migs in Ethiopia and in exercises in India, killed the USAF F-15 hands down. The USAF would win agaisnt Russia in sheer numbers only, BTW at long-range the Mig-31 would give a hard time even to F-22 and B-2.
shelldawv, I know that the U.S is going for the BVR option with their aircraft. That's the idea behind stealth. Many people compare all aircraft with each other, wich isn't right because you can't compare a non stealth aircraft with a stealth aircraft. There is no match in BVR against a stealth aircraft.

UnKn0wn86, Lockheed Martin bought Yakovlev data in the 90's for buiding a Vertical Take Off and Landing aircraft. The F-35 JSF STOVL version is build from this Yakovlev data.
(RCS B2: .75m2, RCS F22: .01m2) increasing power a solution, but it is not the only one. changing frequency is another. To be "invisible", an object has to maintain a purely resistive impedance of 376.7 Ohms over all frequencies. This is impossible to achieve as long as the airplane exists. Radar technology is advancing faster than stealth technology. For example, pulsed radar, modulated in a pseudo-random sequence, can achieve almost any power levels, without being detected by the enemy
Other countries 'bought' your jets, that's perfect tense. Happened during the cold war, and after that the USA has kept political pressure on the countries in transition (ex-Varsav pact). That's why Poland bought F-16's (JAS-39 Gripen would be a far better choice). And that's all there is to it.
Hey man we should include the YF-23 Black Widow since Russians keep talking about their prototyes like the Su-47 Firkin. Doesnt matter only 2 were made we have them!

russian birds plus russian pilots = the best show ever thanks for the video
Couldn't care less where these planes came from. These are awesome aircraft!!

The best sukhoi vid i have seen on the web!Awesome!
whoever put this video I am really than you for that, it's a best I have seen so far. Thank you. keep doing good work. God bless RUSSIA.
this is the best video i ever saw thanks man
THE BEST VIDEO OF MAKS. SO FAR AWAY!!! IN 240P XD.

i would like to see new Su 35 on youtube, awesome radar awesome thrust vectoring, awesome speed, and AMAZING sunburn missiles just invincible!
One of the best video's i have ever seen ;-)

Браво Спасибо Вам Чистое Небо
the aerobatics of those planes are just fucking AMAZING!!! Gotta love 'em!!
Lo mejor ❤❤❤
awesome video
gotta love the russian thrust vectoring.
no loss of state from Indonesia to buy Russian Sukhoi aircraft, this plane is very great, especially when pilots are also great
I just enjoyed the flying.

such beautiful machines

absolut genial !!!!
Totally Agreed. Well Said.
This video and planes is fucking COOL,BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
Good clip.
beauty and the beast
beautifully
GREAT JUST GREAT
shellldawv,
There is something with your name....
You got hialeahkiko with it, wich was great!
Oh man, did he fell for it!
The Russian Swifts use the MiG-29 only.
The Test Pilots are another team that uses the Su-27.
I don't like russian so much...
but I love russian fighter ''Flanker'' series!
it's so marvelous design

What is the side-by-side seater? Never seen that one before. Big weapons payload, too.
Cool
Holy thrust vectoring batman!
