    Nice, that's my goto ESC for stock here. Here on carpet with high turn motors, the setup is easy... blinky and set all the frequencies to their most aggressive setting (low). 😅 I could see how dialing it in on dirt is important. BTW, you can also lower the throttle neutral range to 4% for a smaller dead band, but it makes it more sensitive.

    I can definitely see the need for slicks running on that clay. My stadium truck was sliding around all over the place with treads and after I sanded them down I got all the grip I wanted :)

    Very nice ESC. Looks like you had it dialed in pretty well by the qualifier besides the brakes. Nice job on the 1st rd.

      Yeah next video will be my main race and while I got the brake programmed to a feel I like (1K frequency brake felt better to me, and 12K drive frequency I like).. something else ruined my run. DOH!

    Hi John, nice driving, check out Bruno Chuelo’s vid explaining the settings. I like the throttle rate adjustment and softening seems to have lots of potential for mod too. Thanks as always!

    Yokomo makes a really nice buggy, I went to tlr because I couldn’t get yokomo parts locally

      Yup I get that worry. If I break anything I’ll be out for weeks waiting on parts. So far it’s been solid, nothing besides a few loose screws so far.

    Higher PWM frequencies lead to higher ESC temps. Just check them for your application.

    • @tmmtmm
      @tmmtmm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, higher frequency means the transistors are half-on more times a second at part throttle which heats them up more. That extra heat going into the ESC transistors during part throttle has to come from the battery, draining it a little bit faster. The only real advantage to higher switching frequencies is that the motor doesn't make an annoying whining sound at part throttle. For bashing I'd absolutely use the higher frequency as the motor sounds nicer. For racing, low frequency is the way to go.

      The noticeable effect of higher drive frequency for 2wd buggy is it seems to provide more throttle control, more fidelity, feels softer and easier to manage.. even though there is a softening setting too. And yeah higher feq generates more heat, I forgot to temp check it but if getting high I'll put on the fan or change some things. Thanks.

      @@netcruzer It'll change the throttle curve a bit (50% throttle might become 40% or 60% but 100% will still be 100% and 0% still 0%), but in terms of actual responsiveness there will be no difference. The 'low' frequency for most ESCs is 500Hz or 1000Hz, so not slow to respond by any means.

      @@netcruzer alexander Hagberg and Bruno Coelho do great videos on the Hobbywing Esc. You could also use petit rc setup page too for other pro setups on car and esc setup! Nice videos john, thanks.

    You can use the new app with the old Wi-Fi adapter

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can.. I'm doing that now after other racers asked why I was still using the OLD APP. I thought I had to. It's a bit faster with the new app even on the old wifi adapter.

    Do you think this ESC would be enough for 2wd mod running a 8.5T as well?

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I don’t think you can run a motor that low of turn on a pro stock spec esc

    • @netcruzer

      No. It can do that but if you need no timing advance blinky mode then get the Justock ESC instead. It’s a lot cheaper.

      I do want to try that eventually, I don’t think I’ll like it, but will test out different steering expo and slower speed settings.
