personally, not a Korean nor American, i think the problem here is the cultural difference... some Koreans are not getting used to American slang word so what Ryujin did was okay. It is not a big deal to tell your "fan" to watch their words in public and also wearing another group shirt 8s not being rude, maybe thats his 1st other group concert he attended, so Chaeryeong handled it in a sweet way. They both handled the situation professionally.

  • @musicman2846

The shirt is not a big deal... the same company. However, his drunken rude behavior is a no-no. Apparently, he is an Itzy fan because he had stage-side seating which is normally the most expensive ticket. Good job Itzy for being professionals! Just wanted to add that I have seen people from other fandoms use their lightsticks at other Kpop concerts to show support. Not everyone can afford to get extra merch, especially after getting a ticket.

I agree with you, i just read some tweets about kpop stans complaining about other merchandise used in their favorite concert.. That's so overdramatic.. Reading all the comments about the shirt being worn being questionable is true, but I have been to so many concerts (KPOP and Non-KPOP) in the US and it is done everywhere. You see people wearing Metallica shirts at other rock concerts or other fandom shirts at another kpop group concert. Not a big deal. The more supporters we have for our favorite groups, the better. I just tend not to judge people's choices because I don't know them personally or their situation in life.

I don’t see the problem with bringing a different group lightstick as long as it doesn’t stand out either! like carat bong, or army bomb, ateez lightstick, straykids, they all look like a ball of light from a distance. but that doesn’t work with itzy because the light ring is so distinct that any other light stick would stand out!

facts: drunk dude said "lets f***ing go" doesnt mean that itzy should literally go away, but instead it meant that itzy should sing more, dance more, and party more. its just an expression by humans that are so hyped to the point that they wanted MORE. and thats what we all yell "LETS GOOO!!!". drunk dude just put the f word bec he is really that hyped. and its kinda normal for americans, even some asians has that hyped personality, its just cute that even if its an expression, ryujin doesnt tolerate yelling f words that many can hear. like its a christian loving community lol. even ryeonchae when she pointed out the shirt and some fans booed the drunken man, ryeong indirectly stated that we shouldnt tolerate fan wars. and its beautiful. all thanks to that one drunk guy that we learn new lessons. and all thanks to itzy for being that nice.

Understandable, that's exactly how drunk guys behave at concerts here, especially at open ground concert ( outdoor ). Outdoor could be somewhat brutal at time with festival, there be massive crowds tossing people in the air and around, if you among the front crowds you must lift your hand up and bare some of the weight.
Indoor they behave very well though, the drunk guy kind of out of his mind so he be saying that "let's go", meaning why is it stopping, he wants to music to keep going so he could be drowning in it.

Because at the previous show, there were people that brought in BTS lightsticks and things like that. Really ruins the feeling of everybody there being Midzy. Which then ruins the show a bit because they will address the crowd as Midzy and if you're waving a BTS lightstick you're putting yourself out of that group of people and it doesn't make sense to change it to "Midzy and everybody else make some noise!" And they want to create an overall environment of Mitzys enjoying time together with other Midzy and Itzy. Not to mention that the company that runs BTS and JYP are in competition with each other for fans. Not to mention going to an Itzy concert and waving a BTS lightstick is kinda like promoting BTS at an Itzy show...

@@hepteropterix Well there is more to the lightsticks. The Twice ones are specifically made with the colors of the Twice members so you set it to your favorite twice member's color using bluetooth on your phone to cheer for them and they see it and come over to your area. Especially if you are relatively close to the stage it really matters because they will specifically spot people out in the crowd with their color and wave to you, pose for you, or come over and say Hi. . I don't know if Itzy has a similar thing as I didn't buy their lightstick, and I don't know their colors, but I might on the next tour.

Holy shit, I get to explain something to kPop instead of the other way around for once.
"LETS FUCKIN GOOOO!!" Is actually a good thing, it means that the person was excited and wanted more of what was happening. For example, if at a baseball game a home run is scored, someone in the crowd could very well yell "LETS FUCKIN GOOOOOOO" and all the rest of the fans will understand that they are excited and simply asking for more. Another example, your at an itzy concert, when all of a sudden they drop an extended remix that is new... A "let's fuckin gooooo!" Would be appropriate.

I think the issue was the guy being a jerk rather than wearing a different group's shirt, especially a fellow JYP group. Had he been wearing an Itzy shirt and dropping F-bombs/being belligerent, then it still would've been an issue - Chaeryoung was quick enough to think on the fly to bring it up and along with Ryujin help diffuse/bring humor into the awkward situation ✊
I went to the Dallas concert wearing my Twice shirt, as did other Midzys. It actually was a nice icebreaker with the fellow Midzy next to my group, since we got to chat about how awesome the Twice show was, as well as how excited we were to see Itzy. Others wore Blackpink, Monsta X, and other group shirts along with Itzy's, so it was a chill Kpop love fest in general. There is kind of an amusing/half-joking stigma in some circles, saying you shouldn't wear the merch of the artist or band you're seeing perform, but good luck ever applying that to Kpop 😄
