I played paigow last weekend at Rio. There were two tables open around 2 am, I sat at one with an older man, and the other table was occupied by two friends. The progressive sat at $1.1 mln, around 2:30 am the other tables dealer yelled out “omg, this guy has 7 card straight flush”. But he didn’t bet progressive nor fortune nor his friend did. Too bad it didn’t happen on our table because we could have gotten the envy, it was painful to witness that the guy didn’t get any piece of it.

Question on the last hand why would you have separated the fives and fours if you were playing face down? You have an ace up. House rules is to keep them together because they are small. Just curious of your thought process on that.
As far as I know, there are different house rules for different casinos, but I don't ever play traditional PaiGow so i honestly wouldn't even know. If I said that (I would have to rewatch it), I was probably just making a point that in this game hands are often played differently to win.
@@BeyondBlackjack no completely understand. But keeping those two pair together because they are small and keeping an ace up is going to give you a better chance to win the hand overall then splitting up two pairs. If you have a low pair down and that's it chances are it's just going to be a push unless you're lucky. Again was just curious on your thought process.
She didn’t have an ace to put on top. Her highest card to put on top if she kept her pairs together was a king.
I’m trying to learn this game, but when you had Qs and 6s and a joker, would it not have been better to put the 6s on L and do 3 Qs on bottom? Been paid better? Also last you said you couldn’t win, but if you would have moved the Ace up and used the joker to make a pair better, you would have won?
I have to know what hand you were looking at, but it's possible that the dealer had an Ace high Pai Gow which is a push no matter what. Also, remember a joker can be used to complete a flush or straight only, if not, it's an ace. It is not a wild card like some think. Also, how you set your hand only determines whether you win or lose. It doesn't change the pay for any bonuses.
Although I prefer the traditional Pai Gow I do enjoy watching the face up version. Enjoyed you chatting with your hubby during the session. It made me feel like I was also at the table. Better luck on your next video.

Nope. Flush or straight only. if not, it's an ace.
