When I learned the game I liked a lot, what push people away from this card game is that NPC's overlevel a lot when you battle against them after a second time and take a while for you to encounter other NPC's at your level.
It's okay, but nothing extraordinary. The digimon card battle game was much better if you want to play a full fledged card based game lol Plus yeah, the NPCs are stupidly op. Not so fun to fight against at times.
Most of the really good cards were on the amateurasu server or what ever near end game you gotta kick trees and find cardmon and defeat as many as possible

Basically you can get all the legendary cards (like Tidal Wave, Darkness Gale, Volcanic Cannon, Illegal Acces, Wield Aura, etc) near the end of the game before you battle with Galacticmon. You can get these cards in the two games (Digimon World 3 and Digimon World 2003) by battle with some of the tamers who didn't want to play with you, and from Black Agumon in the caves.
