    My family raises Wagyu/Angus cross in the Western US and we’ve visited Wagyu cattle farms in Japan. Full blood Wagyu steers take up to 36 months to finish to A5. US non-Wagyu feedlots take 18 months for prime. Japanese Wagyu are confined in 12x12 or so pens but are not usually feed beer. They do feed top quality imported alfalfa from places in US like Colorado and Utah, as well as many fed grains. Our F1 steers are both affordable and delicious.

      How do the breeding practices and feeding regimens between US-raised Wagyu/Angus cross steers and traditional full-blood Wagyu in Japan impact the flavor and quality of the beef? What are the key differences in taste and marbling that enthusiasts and chefs look for when choosing between these varieties?

  • @bonnitaclaus2286

    There you go….. stress-free is the word. Our feedlot are anything but stress-free. The way in the America that we raise our beef is to crowd them together, stress is important, even though stress cattle are more likely to get sick. in fact, most of our meat is raised in a situation where stress is the highest. in pigs, because they are overcrowded, we have to cut their tails off otherwise, through nerve and stress other cat pigs will eat the tails.
    I’ve always felt that an animal that raised without stress is going to have better meat. Being raised without stress, they have the best life possible, and no suffering.

    • @GoDiscovery
      @GoDiscovery 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Longer Feeding Time:
      Wagyu cattle are typically raised for a longer period than other cattle breeds. This extended feeding time allows for more fat to be deposited within the muscle fibers, resulting in the renowned marbling that contributes to Wagyu's unique texture and flavor.

      Wagyu cattle are often raised with special attention to their diet. Labor-Intensive Care:
      Providing proper care for Wagyu cattle can be labor-intensive. Some farmers go to great lengths to ensure the well-being of their animals, which can include massages, beer-fed diets, and other practices believed to enhance meat quality.

    I consider this inhumane due to the fact they say the Japanese keep them in pens and never let them out of cages.

      On another note, the cows have free roam, they’re played classical music and they get daily massages.

    The two countries producing the best beef in the world are New Zealand and Argentina. Not a single beast raised spends a single day in a barn or grain fed. They live on farms in all weathers, eating good grass full of goodness....with suplementary winter feed of hay and baylage/silage.....
    They are slaughtered humanely, and are hung for weeks at minus 5 degrees....with many cuts of the good steaks being matured and vacuum packed whole. The fat is a natural yellow....not white.
