  • @donnar000
    @donnar000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    I remember the first one of your videos with this title it scared me so much it's only been rosewater or orange blossom water and castor oil or jojoba oil for my scalp and locs.
    Thank u for the advice because it was right when I started my locs myself.
    In that video "you said what you put in ur locs stays in ur locs" that stayed with me Yannie!

    The one thing I'll say is, while you wash your locs, don't wring them to get the water out of them. You squeeze them. Wringing can damage your scalp and locs.

    I started my loc journey about 5 months ago and I’m glad I learned that you’re not supposed to use product before it was too late. Main reason I got locs is so I don’t have much with it, plus it low maintenance compared to loose hair.

    First and foremost I just want to say, that you are awesome. A lot of what you say I have been telling people for years and they're just getting it I am a bongo dread and I have been from 30 years . I live in Virginia and Newport News and they are destroying their hair here. Most will not admit they have no clue of what to do with dreadlocks or sisterlocks or whatever you want to call him it's a shame!

    That lady from Cali is beautiful. I live and work in London, England UK and I wrap my hair in silk or satin scarves to avoid manipulating it and to stop the air conditioning and heating from drying it out! I think people also wrap their locs in the Caribbean to protect them from the sun, lint and dust. Invest in your face, neck, décolleté and hands (places that show the aging and what people look at besides your shoes when they first meet you) like you want us to invest in our hair. I have good genes like this lady. I have dry skin. My sister has oily skin and prone to break outs but we have both invested in our face (cheap cleansers and Spfs, expensive serums and moisturisers) She's 30 this year and I'm 40 next year and we are still getting asked for I. D. like we are between 17 and 24. If you know what to use, it isn't expensive at all considering for most of those years my sister and I were broke students or earning low incomes.

    Yannie, I am a loose natural and because I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks, I rinse my hair several times before shampooing to rinse out all the product (only leave-in conditioner and a lightweight cream). You would think I had applied shampoo! There is so much residue and dirt from the air it attracts that wind up in the tub. I can't imagine walking around for years with that in my hair if it was loc'd.

    Shalom, I could not find a video on your uploads and pardon me if you have already made a video but could you go over the fundamentals of washing/cleaning locs/afro and describe specifically the soaps/cleaning agents that are acceptable to use(no residue whatsoever). A basic cleaning schedule for a beginner and if possible to make own shampoo/cleaning agent at home to verify each ingredient. I have had trouble finding a way to wash my hair without using a shampoo to buy from the store that contains residue (eg. Pantene, Head and Shoulders, Shea Butter especially). Any constructive criticism will be applied and tested immediately. Thank you.

    My Girlfriend and I are located Stockbridge GA. What shampoo is good for removing "Pomades"/ I started my locs with a Taliah Waajid cream, wonderful process no build up, no white streaks. I started my girls locs, same way, after almost a year of having her locs, she didn't feel like it held. So she sees Murray's twist & Hold product;' thick white paste. Not only did she use it, but she retwisted mines as well. We both have white streaks in our hair now;'Hard, flaky, lint like substance, disappears when wet.. What shampoo and conditioner could we use for this "Pomade" component to be removed? I hear dawn is good for stripping grease, but that's just ridiculous. I already tried (Jamaican Tingle);all in all, it did help..my girl needs a few more rinse this week. I really want to just have jet black hair again, this is making me feel bad...and I want my girl to have a wonderful loc journey. After this gets removed, we're going back to coconut oil which was never a problem.
