This to me still doesn’t explain how shao overpowered Onaga. Because theoretically Onaga would have been empowered as well and shao never wanted to go 1v1 with him because he knew better… and a super powered Onaga???? Nah I can’t by that guy losing . It sucks that we got the reboot we did because it logically doesn’t make sense
@@Tyrineal yea it literally said in his ending that a 3rd outcome an unforeseen outcome happened making them more powerful which the quest did nothing to save the realms.
If this is true then the timing doesn’t make any sense. At what point did Taven defeat Blaze? Why is it that we didn’t see him whatsoever on the battlefield or Pyramid in the intro?
Here's a little theory I have: Every character that isn't seen in both intros at all, died before the battle of Armageddon. There isn't too much explanation to this honestly. I also thought Sektor died during Konquest mode, because after he fights Taven and he is defeated, the ship explodes and Taven escapes just in time, causing Sektor to die in the explosion. I initially believed this was true, until I saw your video on how many times each character died in Mortal Kombat. When you got to Sektor, you pointed him out to be dead in the pyramid. Now that I think about it, I feel like Sektor escaped as well, by teleporting. We know he can teleport since he did that in MK11.
At this point you were a little mistaken... you probably said that because at that moment in the story Shinnok was without the amulet but it is not said that Shinnok needs the amulet to travel through the other realms... it is said that in addition to the amulet greatly increasing his powers, especially outside of the Neatherrealm, the amulet allows him to move freely between the worlds "WITHOUT BEING NOTICED BY OTHER ELDER GODS"
@@TheAbominableDrFaustus Yes, he didn't have the amulet so when he left Neatherrealm he was noticed by the Elder Gods... he can leave without the amulet... but he will be noticed
He didn’t leave though. He made a clone to keep an eye on Daegon. I mean, if you’re right and all the amulet does is hide where he is (it does much more, otherwise the elder gods could immediately stop him when Raiden told them he escaped in MK4) why would Shinnok manipulate everyone into being there and then *go himself?* Wouldn’t that draw all the attention of the Elder Gods exactly where he *doesn’t* want them to be? That’s why he sent a copy.
15:43 I feel like there's a joke somewhere, because Hotaru is a lesser known character and isn't given enough attention to this day. Missed opportunity to introduce him in Khaos Reigns, or even have mkx be about Chaos realm and Seido. He's one of my favourite villains.

Dude, subzero was straight beasting to the end, he took out 3 fighters almost one right after the other and only got killed because he had just one too many come at him at once
38:30 my theory is that Liu Kang corporeal body died after his soul ascended into the afterlife. I’m the time of Armageddon, Liu Kang’s soul was struggling to stay on the physical plain so much, he had to tether himself to someone who he had a close relationship with, at first it was Kitana but later traded the place for Nightwolf. When Nightwolf died the connection was severed so Liu Kang moved on and ascended into the afterlife and when that happened his corporeal body just fell to the ground after killing Shang Tsung. Edit: Also Deagon’s arcade ending confirms that he was the one who killed Taven on the took of the pyramid right before Taven could finish Blaze, not Shao Kahn. Though I do believe that Shao Kahn was the one to kill Daegon.
Honestly I think Shao probably poisoned Onaga in the battle. Remember in his deception ending he had daggers made with poison when he had goro use them so Shao could’ve carried a poison dagger or a weapon on him to weaken Onaga. Plus keep in mind Shao winning Armageddon and killing Onaga is result of a retcon. Keep in mind MK Armageddon was supposed to be the last MK game. Characters were supposed to die and when Onaga grabbed and attacked Shao, Shao can be heard screaming and then it fades and if you look closely seems to be trying to fight back as you can see his arms moving around. That scene was supposed to imply that Shao was being dragged off to die or least implies this is his last battle. Plus as you mentioned of the multiverse stuff then technically you could argue that Shao was dragged by Onaga was most likely killed and securing Tavens victory and in MK 9 (originally a retcon) is actually a alter timeline where either Shao did manage to escape from Onaga (as John Vogel said on twitter from the past) or Onaga was killed some other way. Keep in mind it was confirmed that all games from MK vs DC to MK 11 with the whole timeline stuff we see are separate so yeah I think Shao was killed by Onaga least in the actual original timeline where Taven wins.
This video was very good you should do polls in the channel's community asking subscribers' opinions on things that were left open, or on "which of the alternative deaths do you think is most likely" (like... who killed reptile? Kai, Kitana, Khameleon?), or about corpses that you couldn't identify This is the most complete video I've ever seen on this topic... and I want it to be even more complete by trying to clear up some of these doubts 👍👍👍
Love this, so much effort put into it & you know your lore. A lot of the time when I watch videos like this, it can be quite frustrating when they get the lore wrong, but you didn't so props!
Because it was Kung Laos hat that killed baraka, i like to think that he saw baraka stab SZ and due to proximity, cut his arm and then made the throw that split him
14:10 fun fact: Kung Lao and Baraka has always kinda had this beef, as Kung Lao completely cut Baraka in half in one of the games (MK4 I believe. You can even see the giant stitches across his chest
25:09 Someone could've died but never met that person before because in this battle, it was basically everybody for themselves beside the good guys. I do agree that Scorpion wasn't the one though since he is more of an anti hero, and I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just saying a lot of the deaths could be by characters that had never even met them before. I love your channel, I always wanted someone to do a video about this.
Yeah this project wasn’t meant to be taken as a matter-of-fact, but more or less just fun speculation. We will likely never know what actually happened. Hope you enjoyed the video 🙂
Kinda wish we were able to see the whole battle from different camera angles to get a better look at it. Even though it’s not the in game engine and just an 3D animation.
Shoutout to your effort man, badass video I can’t believe it felt like a 20 minute video, that’s by far the best intro to a game and I would always turn on my ps2 and put on the game mainly to watch that intro… new sub
41:35 Another possibility for what happened to Blaze, and to an extension Taven, that Blaze was killed by Taven, but before Taven could use the power of Armageddon to end the battle, Shao Kahn snuck up behind the demigod, snapped his neck, and absorbed the the power of Armageddon for himself.
When showing the cause of death of each fighter, is that typewriter sound effect a reference to “1000 Ways to Die?” Made it thru a third of the video before that clicked in my mind.
Haha I’ll have to look that up, but no, it’s more of an homage to the Resident Evil save rooms paired with the music. Theres no real correlation apart from my love for that series!
I think Taven actually did win the Battle of Armageddon in the original timeline, and what we see at the beginning of MK9 is a different timeline entirely. Here's why: Raiden sent his memories to the past, right before the start of the tournament. So anything he changed would only affect what happens after the tournament starts... In the original timeline, Jax killed Tremor before the tournament. So if Raiden sent his visions to the past in the original timeline, no matter what he does it still wouldn't change Tremor's fate since he's already dead at that point... But Tremor is alive in the timeline that Raiden tried to fix, so it means that the whole thing we saw at the opening cutscene of MK9 actually takes place in a timeline where Taven didn't win the battle...
Great Video, my guy, I really loved your dedication to finding out how each character died in the original timeline since the devs seem to no longer care about it even though it is the reason we have Mortal Kombat in the first place. Again, great work, and what is your favorite Mortal Kombat timeline if you do not mind me asking? For me, it would be the original timeline with all its flaws and inconsistencies.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I put so much work into this and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. To answer your question, nothing beats the OG timeline!
Before getting the game, my first exposure to Armageddon was a music video of the intro of the game with "Immortal" by Adema playing. My 12 year old mind was blown by it all those years ago lol
Would be hilarious if Kung Lao didn't throw the hat to kill Baraka, but Shao Khan rocking him with the hammer made him fly into where the hat was stuck.
Jeez... I hope someone's messaged Boon about this... idk, maybe there was some bet made a long-ass time ago, saying "If someday, someone makes a video about how everyone died... we'll release an article showcasing who killed who, when, and how..." And it just took this long to fulfill the prophecy...
I never knew they maintained that level of consistency between Armageddon and 9. I still can't stand the direction of the story, but I can commend them for their eerie attention to detail. Keep filing those mental health claims, netherrealm!
i remember going to walmart with my dad one year and seeing MKA in the game case for $30 on ps2. my dad said "its the MK with all the characters in it" we were impressed a game could hold all those characters at the time, that we didnt even notice the shared fatalities and downgraded graphics. my dad loved the quest mode. one day i came to his house and he showd me he collected almost every item. he didnt even have internet too, so he had to find them by himself
Just bought a PS2. I'm getting Armageddon, Shaolin Monks and deception some time this week as well as God of war and some sports games. This merry holidays are going to be full of nostalgia. Happy Holidays everyone

Ah it's nice seeing someone cover MK Armageddon. Imo one of the best MK games, not a big fan of how the characters look now or how the storyline is going but that just my opinion.
12:25 in my school vr game during the Check the dead mission theres some unique evidence of certain deaths (Kitana was killed by Mileena which there were offscreen sies in her back, Hotaru was killed by Sonya Blade through gun shots, Scorpion death was unexpectedly done by Frost, Hsu Hao died from Impact from Shang Tsung fire skull, Johnny Cage might have been decapitated by Noob Saibot, Sonya was by Goro, Reptile was by Kano, Noob was definitely by Scorpion in the form of burn marks on his back, Sindel was by Kenchi, Jax was unexpectedly by Onaga, Bo Rai Cho was by Onaga who stepped on him, Syrax was by Onaga, Night wolf much like Bo Rai Cho was used as a step by Onaga, Kabal by Sektor, Sektor was by Onaga, Mileena by Onaga who stepped on her, Quan Chi was by Blaze, Zombie Liu Kang was by Blaze again, Ashrah ascended to heaven mid fight, Ermac was by Shinnok,)
this exists?? the biggest mortal kombat fans dont even know about this + i’ve searched the internet years ago to find research on how much evidence is shown of the cause of deaths for each character in armageddon and have only managed to find very little but what even is this vr check the dead mission thing
@anwenlokier2292 apparently youtube censors a certain s word, since I replied as soon as this popped up. Who ever is reading this, op is mentally unwell or a troll lmao
Wait, now I have a question. After seeing Noob's clips: in which team was he fighting? Because he is human in the Armageddon intro, unlike the Konquest in which he is a spectre like Scorpion. After defeating him Sub Zero claims to know how to restore him, and the intro seems to show he succeeded but, is he still evil, then? Did the mind remain unchanged or what?
Yeah that’s a weird one because his alternate costume and appearance in MK Deception is the dark wraith version whereas the Armageddon intro has him in the human version (his primary Deception costume). I just figured because he’s fighting Ashrah that means he’s on the Forces of Darkness, but I’m not sure if there are storyline implications there.
@FAiRWAYx Yeah, although Ashrah is not tha morally good with all the Datusha plot she is certainly siding with the good guys. Noob Saiboy being a mystery on what the duck is going on with him is because he has no motivations on Midway era 'till Deception, and even then it was vague. It was just a random who helped the bad guys and that's all. Even Drahmin and Molloch had one, and those duckers where literally random demons.
Quick theory: The intros of MKA and MK9 are different timelines as is the MK9 plot. Taven won, but that left things unbalanced and Kronica restarted time. Then Shao Khan won, bat that also unbalanced things and Kronica restarted time, but Raiden's message somehow went to this new timeline.
What I gathered from this list. Be ut canon or just presumably, Shao Kahn was on a field day with his hammer during Armageddon. Even scoring kills by accident. (Khameleon)
I feel like this HEAVILY relies everyone is going for their rival(s), it was a full on brawl where the only alliances that didn't devolve were the heroes and tight knit groups of villains. Besides a select few, cheap shots from randoms turned fatal should've been a solid chunk at least.
A fun breakdown for sure. I Shao Khan is a great answer for many deaths. I say after Onaga snatched him into the air a brief exchange if words happen and Khan hits Onaga point black in tge face with his eye beams. Onaga is stunned and along with Khan starts to go into free fall. Khan breaks free of his grip and starts to pummel Onaga in mid and they hit the ground Onaga first with Khan on top. Followed by Khan crushing Onaga with his hammer. The fall doesn't occur to far from the battle once back on the scene Khan goes for broke and says to hell with you all. He then grabs Sonya and rips her in half as that is his fatality. Khan then starts making weapon constructs and throws a spear through Jax, uses a sword or Sindel, possibly another on Subzero, probably cuts off or rips Johnny Cages head off. And so it goes on anyone you can't really tell how they died probably did at Khan's hands. I agree Shinoka and anyone else we can't see their fates probably fled the battle realizing all is lost and Khan has won.
Sonya also could’ve fallen hard on one of the edges of the pyramid and that split her in half. Some characters were confirmed killed after falling in MK9’s intro (Mileena and Cyrax are two of them). CV Nightwolf could’ve gotten his neck snapped by Sheeva too. Sektor likely lost the fight before Cyrax encountered Sheeva
I'm convinced Bo'Rai'Cho died of not only Alcohol poisoning, but i also believed he my have had a heart attack. As he was forced to ascend the Pyramid a second time over. If we look at how slow he was walking up the stairs the first time, he was somewhat struggling. As someone who has a fat uncle, i could tell he was having a hard time. Couple that with the stress of the chaos happening around him, and his unhealthy lifestyle. Caused his heart to gave out, and he collapsed near half way a top the pyramid in his 2nd climb. He probably also shat out blood the moment he died, as that explains the pool of blood around him.
What alternate theories would you propose for the many many deaths of MK Armageddon? 💀⬇️

"Kenshi saw more than any of us could."
Yeah, about that
Yeah....nah lol Mileena defeats let alone kill Kitana...nah
Yeah it’s just weird we didn’t see him in the Armageddon Intro 😂
There’s lot of characters that didn’t show up. Even Shinnok. He sent a clone of himself. He’s still alive
Show Khans Armageddon run is like Brock Lesnar in the 2020 Royal rumble. Just destroying everyone
Unstoppable!
Dominating!
Shinnok was canonically trapped in the Neatherrealm. It’s why he teamed up with Daegon in the first place. Shinnok was never at the pyramid at all.
At this point you were a little mistaken... you probably said that because at that moment in the story Shinnok was without the amulet
but it is not said that Shinnok needs the amulet to travel through the other realms... it is said that in addition to the amulet greatly increasing his powers, especially outside of the Neatherrealm, the amulet allows him to move freely between the worlds "WITHOUT BEING NOTICED BY OTHER ELDER GODS"
I get what you mean, but he doesn’t have the amulet. This is post MK4 and Shinnok specifically mentions to Daegon that he can’t leave.
@@TheAbominableDrFaustus Yes, he didn't have the amulet
so when he left Neatherrealm he was noticed by the Elder Gods... he can leave without the amulet... but he will be noticed
I just think the REAL fallen Elder God would either be much more powerful, or, if he’s still weakened, he’d be smart enough to not go.
15:43 I feel like there's a joke somewhere, because Hotaru is a lesser known character and isn't given enough attention to this day. Missed opportunity to introduce him in Khaos Reigns, or even have mkx be about Chaos realm and Seido. He's one of my favourite villains.
I feel like it was mainly Mileena who killed Kitana given her Armageddon (as you mentioned) bio. Not to mention their bitter hatred for one another.
6:14 Where are my Next Friday fans??? Lui Kang came out the shadows like Deebo saying "This is the rematch!" 😂
Looooong time no see man 😂 how ya been?
@Gameboi93_4HM Man I'm alive and breathing so it's good on my end. How's life treating you?
@@IamMichael365 life's been better but I'm fine mostly. You still stay in TN?
@Gameboi93_4HM How you know that? You watching me? 😅
@@IamMichael365 nah bud but as one of your best friends from high school that hasn't seen you since graduation I'd hope you still stay here so we could catch up sometime 😂😂
Dude, subzero was straight beasting to the end, he took out 3 fighters almost one right after the other and only got killed because he had just one too many come at him at once
Ice in his veins 🥶
Some of the pauses on the "remastered" footage are so funny
You deserve get way more likes
I appreciate that!
@FAiRWAYx thank you! much love
This video was a gem bro you literally answered questions that I as a child had locked in inside my heart for like 15 years
Love the theory video! Hopefully one day they will make a remaster of this, deception or deadly alliance. Either way Awesome video and HAMMER TIME!
If Noob Saibot killed Sareena in Armageddon then that's really tragic since he spared her in Mythologies Sub Zero
He changed a bit after Mythologies 😂
love your videos! iam waiting for everyone of them and i enjoy every single one. great job
Thank you my friend ❤️
Keep in mind it was confirmed that all games from MK vs DC to MK 11 with the whole timeline stuff we see are separate so yeah I think Shao was killed by Onaga least in the actual original timeline where Taven wins.
i love this format. the sheeva death sound killed me xD
Kenshi saw...
Let me stop you there 😂
😂😂
This video was very good
you should do polls in the channel's community asking subscribers' opinions on things that were left open, or on "which of the alternative deaths do you think is most likely" (like... who killed reptile? Kai, Kitana, Khameleon?), or about corpses that you couldn't identify
This is the most complete video I've ever seen on this topic... and I want it to be even more complete by trying to clear up some of these doubts 👍👍👍
U did a great job man thank you for making this always wanted to know how almost all my favorite mk characters died especially sub-zero 😢 RIP 🙏
Thanks for watching! Sub-Zero went down swinging for sure
Great video love your speculations on who killed who
Thanks for watching ❤️
My theory is shao was the last survivor in a barren wasteland with literally no life. He then would eventually die.
He just become emperor of nothing
Love this, so much effort put into it & you know your lore. A lot of the time when I watch videos like this, it can be quite frustrating when they get the lore wrong, but you didn't so props!
Yeah I may be wrong sometimes but I seriously put an insane amount of time into my research
Because it was Kung Laos hat that killed baraka, i like to think that he saw baraka stab SZ and due to proximity, cut his arm and then made the throw that split him
Funny when you consider that Kung Lao cut Baraka in half back in the original trilogy.
Oh that would be a dope sequence!
14:10 fun fact: Kung Lao and Baraka has always kinda had this beef, as Kung Lao completely cut Baraka in half in one of the games (MK4 I believe. You can even see the giant stitches across his chest
Lmao imagine being sawed in half twice in one timeline 😂
This video is amazing! As a huge MK fan this is something I’ve been waiting for 🔥
25:09 Someone could've died but never met that person before because in this battle, it was basically everybody for themselves beside the good guys.
I love how armageddon is still relevant man. Great job man👏
Thank you bro! I hope you enjoyed!
Nice touch with the resident evil save music While you're giving the epitaph Of the MK fighters. Stellar work!
Kinda wish we were able to see the whole battle from different camera angles to get a better look at it. Even though it’s not the in game engine and just an 3D animation.
Shoutout to your effort man, badass video
I can’t believe it felt like a 20 minute video, that’s by far the best intro to a game and I would always turn on my ps2 and put on the game mainly to watch that intro… new sub
Thanks for watching and I’m glad everyone enjoys and appreciates the intro as much as I do!
Li Mei was well deserved for abandoning the forces of light for Onaga in her deception ending
Great video!
Thanks bro!
Yeah I like that theory! Wish we could’ve seen it though
Theres no real correlation apart from my love for that series!
the leg at 51:48 is ermacs leg !! great video btw
The editing is hilarious and shows how much of an mk fan you are
I think Taven actually did win the Battle of Armageddon in the original timeline, and what we see at the beginning of MK9 is a different timeline entirely. Here's why:
Raiden sent his memories to the past, right before the start of the tournament.
Dude, all about Blind Witness during the Barraka and Kung Lao bit haha
😂😂
Died quicker than Chris Brown in Stomp The Yard
What was that gag from
You just unlocked a lost memory for me.
ToonRafiq right?
15:37 I like what you did there. Hotaru needs a bit of love.😄
Hotaru fans do not stay quiet. I’m just doing my part!
Johnny might have been protecting Sonya, the shouldering seems pretty gentle.
Either that or he was blinded by the potential becoming a god
One of my fav Mortal Kombat game, had everything we wanted just wish MK1 had some of their features

Would be hilarious if Kung Lao didn't throw the hat to kill Baraka, but Shao Khan rocking him with the hammer made him fly into where the hat was stuck.
I like the improvised arcade ladder at the end. Truly breaking the fourth wall of MK takes this much dedication no thanks to Boon and Tobias 😂
I think at 9:37 that might be Tanya? Only because I feel like I can see the overhang of her skirt.
Damn if that’s Tanya then I’m impressed because Shang exploded her with the skull projectile!
Jeez... I hope someone's messaged Boon about this... idk, maybe there was some bet made a long-ass time ago, saying "If someday, someone makes a video about how everyone died... we'll release an article showcasing who killed who, when, and how..." And it just took this long to fulfill the prophecy...
I have feeling you thought more into this then the Netherrealm Studios even did! 😂 I love vids like this! New to the channel.
Love it this is very entertaining 💎💎💎💎💎💎
Thanks for watching!
Finally. I’ve been wanting something like this for years!!!
When illustrating the source of death for each person, is that Resident Evil music in the background? lol if so I like the subtle touch pause 😂
8:42 Kung Lao actually knows how to swim because his revenant self was later shown to be alive.
Was gunna say the same thing lol thank you, but unfortunately he still does quite often
I never knew they maintained that level of consistency between Armageddon and 9. I still can't stand the direction of the story, but I can commend them for their eerie attention to detail. Keep filing those mental health claims, netherrealm!
i remember going to walmart with my dad one year and seeing MKA in the game case for $30 on ps2. my dad said "its the MK with all the characters in it"
we were impressed a game could hold all those characters at the time, that we didnt even notice the shared fatalities and downgraded graphics.
my dad loved the quest mode. one day i came to his house and he showd me he collected almost every item. he didnt even have internet too, so he had to find them by himself
Just bought a PS2. I'm getting Armageddon, Shaolin Monks and deception some time this week as well as God of war and some sports games.
This merry holidays are going to be full of nostalgia. Happy Holidays everyone
I see Shao Kahn and Onaga as the one removing a lot of the fighters that just don't appear or have no obvious way of death for 1. they failed him 2. getting to powerful or 3. they are enemies
Yeah it’s safe to say they are the two of the most powerful characters in the fight, if not THE most powerful.
the Kung Lao v Baraka is hilarious cause the staples Baraka has in MK Gold was revealed to be from Kung Lao's attempted fatality
Ah it's nice seeing someone cover MK Armageddon. Imo one of the best MK games, not a big fan of how the characters look now or how the storyline is going but that just my opinion.
Wait what about the best character ever. Your custom character how did they die
Lmao still lurking and waiting to strike
I’ve never heard of this before
this exists?? the biggest mortal kombat fans dont even know about this + i’ve searched the internet years ago to find research on how much evidence is shown of the cause of deaths for each character in armageddon and have only managed to find very little but what even is this vr check the dead mission thing
Certified schizo post.
Can you provide any details of the game itself?
@anwenlokier2292 apparently youtube censors a certain s word, since I replied as soon as this popped up. Who ever is reading this, op is mentally unwell or a troll lmao
that Shak Khan motivation hits different 🔥🔥💪🏾
Im pretty sure khameleon and chameleon are alive 💅🏻
I’m cool with that theory
Quick theory: The intros of MKA and MK9 are different timelines as is the MK9 plot.
Taven won, but that left things unbalanced and Kronica restarted time.
Then Shao Khan won, bat that also unbalanced things and Kronica restarted time, but Raiden's message somehow went to this new timeline.
"We are many, we are dead" 😂😂😂RIP Legend.
I love this video so much thank you for taking time to make this video I know it took a lot of effort it’s very good 👍
What I gathered from this list.
Be ut canon or just presumably, Shao Kahn was on a field day with his hammer during Armageddon.
Even scoring kills by accident. (Khameleon)
Haha I would never do such a disservice to Khameleon. She’s awesome.
What is the name of the piano music at 3:35 ? Thanks
Resident evil save music
Resident Evil 2 save room theme!
I thought Frost accidentally encased herself in ice after taking the medallion from Sub-Zero, unable to control her powers.
5:30 I hope that joke is intentional. The delivery was so dry. It was perfect.
Do a special force characters tier list
Good idea
Star wars: somehow.. palpatine returned
Fans: 🤬🤬🤬
Mk: somehow.. shao kahn returned
Fans:🤯 guys get theory cooking!
