28:57 The problem is that football is a full time job which comes with far greater scrutiny because of its far greater exposure compared to normal jobs. Obviously, players need time to get accustomed to their new surroundings, teammates and tactics but as with any job, they need to start performing to the required level. Its early but if you went into a new, high paying, highly specialized and highly scrutinized job, you'd need to perform from the start. The scrutiny is part and parcel of that job. For these players, some of the scrutiny is harsh but the reality is that the expectations placed on their shoulders is massive.
Klopp greatest strength and possibly his greatest weakness is that he treats all players as family. He genuinely cares for his players. Those hugs are not just for show. When he says they won't force a player out of the club if they don't want to go , he means it. That's why he ends up ultimately hoarding players for too long.
44:38 Both VVD and Hendo's deals were going to expire in 2023 but they both signed a two year extension until 2025. They each had 2 years left at the time.
Liverpool squad management can be seen as inadequate because its all we seem to talk about regarding Liverpool. Klopps tenure at Liverpool has been roller coaster ride. Intense highs and depressing lows. But generally it's been the greatest period of sustained success that liverpool has had for 40 years. Its going to result in a fascinating book years down the line but I doubt even then we will have all the answers.
@Star Dazing Having a good team is an ongoing process. People come and go all the time. We're not just going to give up when klopp goes. It's not impossible we will do better when he leaves.
@@redmed10 you having a laugh? The only reason we've seen success under fsg is klopp, we had the same model under Rodgers, we've got mid table teams outspending us when were at record revenue overtaking utd who spend 100s of millions every window. When klopp leaves were dead with 10m net a window
@@jozz9989 Well what suggestions do you have for fsg? What players would you have bought and what salaries would you have paid them. How much debt are you happy for the club to carry. There are plenty of players I would have liked liverpool to buy and they have not proven to very as good as they first appeared. Any player acquisition is a crap shoot. If you get 7 out of right you are doing well. And we did well for a while but that luck seems to have run out and our squad looks shaky at the moment. Our fortunes have gone up and down during Jurgens tenure. It hasn't been all plain sailing. But we keep on coming back and will this season again.
Drifty agree with your points 💯... I also a bit concerned 5hat we are discussing Mane when he has left and is only 1 month in... No-one can look at Mane and say he's going to score as many goals as Lewondaski... The comparison is apples and pears... Another big elephant in the room that needs to be added to the conversation 8s that klopp + Edwards always working to a tight budget that they can't get rid of we players... because they would not have the budget fees + wages... To adequately replace the deadwood and basement players... Like Naby k Ox... and they have just provacated... It's not wether you sold at the right time it's do you have plan strategy alternative to replace the person... That's one of the main crux 9f the issue... Up the reds keep up the good work 👏. The guys we were good at selling had never really bothered the first team or forced themselves into Klopp's plans. The likes of Ings, Solanke, Ibe, Benteke, Brewster and so on were always surplus to requirements hence why they left with little hassle. The problem has always been with players that have played a substantial part in the team's success. The club just won't let them go even if the price seems right
Jamaica making 98 world cup surely has to be up there as a great world cup memories? I remember being able to watch the world 02 in school day's, great times.

Just 10 mins in, but I gotta correct you Matt. Mané didn' play as a 9 for us. At any time. He played Bobby's role aka the False 9 we so loved under Klopp's reign. Two diff type of position other than them being forwards ofc. Yeah I do think Mané is done as a winger at the top. But he reinvented himself as a great false 9 last year. Couldn't have learned it better from the best. Bobby Firmino.
13:40 Problem is that Origi had gotten so many injuries with us in his final season. Ofcourse Milan need to give him time but its hardly surprising that he'd be getting injuries with them too. I say we did well to cut ties with him but, with the benefit of hindsight, i say we kept him 3 seasons too long. He should have left a cult hero at the end of 18/19 with a relatively substantial value. Without that hindsight, he should have left after 20/21 for a fee when his output had effectively been diminished.
Drift Bellingham is DEFO a wonder kid man. I don't know how much you watch Dortmund but I do quite frequently and man ... this guys WALKS into not just our Midfield but almost any midfield in the world. You have no idea man. Watch Dortmunds next 3-4 games and then let's speak about it again yeah? There's a reason the dude is 100M+ and Real, City and Chelsea are after him you know?
Could say exactly the same about Sancho who's one of the biggest flops in pl history after all the hype. It doesn't really matter though because he's never signing for us and fsg have never had any interest in signing him
44:57 Bobby hadn't played well consistently since 2020. The goals against Bournemouth were his first home goals since December 2020 if I'm not mistaken. He also currently on £180k. Massive wages. Where does he drop down to? Realistically, he wouldn't want to go below 100k but his recent output hasn't justified such a contract. The only transfer links we've seen were to Juve but who knows how much truth was in that. Hence why he's got a year left. Naby and Ox have been the most expensive flops of Klopp's tenure. Perhaps the likes of West Ham wanted Ox but if he and Naby didn't want to leave and Klopp didn't want to force them out then what more could have been done? They aren't worth new contracts anyway. I already spoke about Mane in separate comments.
Its like the last bit of toothpaste, the club loves to get the very last bit from each player before we sell. Mane should have been sold the season before, lallana, ox, milner, keita, origi, and some more should have all gone and then we focus on incomings but we are tight with money
Drifty around 1:05:58 is stating facts. Loads of people in our fanbase didn't want darwin so now everything little thing he does wrong they showing hate by already dismissing him. They look at haaland and be over their head without realising the service he gets and that city play better attacking patterns of football. All we do is hoof it to darwin even haaland will struggle with that. Give him 6 months after then judge even though to me we need creative mids still so really I wanna see formation or personel change to support darwin
i hear what's matts saying about we should of sold origi to wolves but by all accounts he didn't want to join them... its reported that he turned them down again in the summer its easier as fans to say we should sell ox as an example but when has ox asked to leave? it was the same as origi... when did he activity ask to leave?
I actually believe klopp will use jota more from the off and have Nunez come off the bench in most games for 30 mins and Nunez will only play vs the average teams. Also price tags dictate how a player plays for their club that season and contract length remaining. If a player has a big price tag it doesn’t mean they should be tekky all round or hit the ground running. Price tags have only inflated recently because clubs do that bs.
Fully agree with Drifty on the Nuñez thing. You guys were working too hard to try and steer his opinion to suit your narrative. Matt and Callum have been very harsh towards Darwin. We need to give him space.
That’s what I was thinking. How mane and Origi turn into bashing Nunez. Give him a chanc and se, as drifty said the team ain’t playing well and Nunez ain’t Steven Gerrard 🤷🏾♂️👍🏾👍💯
57:34 What a strange point to make. Salah is struggling at a time when most of our team is struggling. It's far harder to name a play that is playing well than it is to name one that isn't. Meanwhile, from my outside looking in perspective, Bayern have, on multiple occasions, scored more than 5 goals this season. Plus they have won both UCL matches against harder opponents than ours. They are in a better position than us. Seriously, look at the quality of the lineup for their Augsburg game. That's basically Bayern at full strength.
1:02:15 City fans likely didn't criticize Grealish too much because, at the time, the burden and expectations placed on him weren't that great. City still had guys like Foden and Sterling playing that left wing and banging in goals. So he didn't have as much pressure to come in and be the guy. Now that Sterling and Jesus have left, he needs to step up. Whereas with Nunez, we as a team are struggling. There are plenty of injuries and most of the players are underperforming. So, as a result, Darwin has more pressure to step up because things just aren't going well at the moment. When things aren't going well, each individual mistake that he makes will obviously get magnified because the stakes are quite high.
Sadio Mane had been performing well below his usual standards for a year with guys like Salah and Jota picking up more slack than him. His pick up in form coincided with a positional change but by then, he was asking for a new challenge. At the time, he just wasn't worth the £360k he currently earns at Bayern. He's their best paid player and he earns more than Salah does (atleast according to base pay). And the simple fact is that Liverpool aren't the type of club to have multiple players earning that type of money. Gini was asking for nearly £200k at the time which would have put him near VVD, Mane and Salah whilst being over Henderson (a POTY winner), Fabinho, Alisson, Trent, and Firmino. Thiago came in at that wage but he came with international recognition and guaranteed quality. Don't forget that Gini went on to sign a contract at PSG worth around 300k. The simple fact was that he wasn't worth that much to us. Origi had never shown the ability to outscore our more reliable forwards. He may have come up clutch on occasions but he was quite an average player and for a while, he coasted on his goals from 2019. It shouldn't be any wonder why he didn't start more. He wasn't on the level of a Salah, Mane, Diaz, Bobby, or Jota. Klopp knew that.
Lol Diaz needed no time to hit the ground running. Suarez needed no time to hit the ground running. Every one who is a new player will not know the language or the system but some players need no time to adjust. Suarez came in killed it from day one.
It goes back to the owners. If we knew as a fanbase that our owners would spend money when we need it then we can be patient with exciting young talents because they will buy top players to upgrade the squad now. When we sign anyone now, they have to hit the ground running because we know we ain't gonna sign anyone for a while. Send our young exciting players out to teams like dortmund or ajax and let them get first team football and then by the age of 22/23 they're ready to replace the players in the current squad
Lets reserve judgement and not be too harsh on Nunez just yet. We've played 6 league games. 3 of which he was suspended for. One where he came off the bench and was impactful by getting the goal and assist at craven cottage. One where we he got the sending off in and he will learn from that. Then the 0-0 at Goodison. Lets come back to it by the time the world cup starts and see how he's done from now until then. He's still learning his team mates the system, the language etc
Good show boys.. interesting angle u came with on the discussion. B4 I get on the topic of transfers... This Nunez thing is a bit off the mark I think. There's no single player we could've got in attack that would "look" good in our club at this minute. Haaland would not have 11 goals in our side!! And he's certainly not a shit player. Our club is bereft of real talent & or a functioning system & trying to bed in young kids & foreign players in this environment is crap! YES Nunez isnt "impressing" but it's weird to think he shud look stellar by himself looking at how we play offense.🤷😵 As for our transfer strategy .... I read CIES had a report saying in the last decade of Transfer business, looking at valuations b4 & after acquisition, we paid more $$ over the odds for players than City did, while having spent $1b vs City 1.2b for City in that time. First I didnt believe our level of spending was near City😳 but the numbers also say we don't get enough REAL quality when we buy.! Klopp is not good at stocking up quality in his sides. It's against his ethos & he said as much that he won't ever sell anyone that doesn't kick up a fuss to leave.!
Nunez was actually playing decent before the red card. I think he would've settled by now & probably got around 7 goals if the red card didn't happen. That stalled his progress.
@@potjhm1 - yeah I dont know. U have more trust than me. Our attacking is very hard for me to watch. We make things soo hard & a guy who looks for space like Nunez can't get service on the ground often enough to get shots off. And the few looks he gets pple jump on him saying he can't pass or shoot or control? Plus our midfield is just not talented to make things happen in the final third.!
@@charleskudakwashe6458 Suarez was fluffing chances the first 10/12 games i remember. There's a player there ready to bang i feel..... - Planet football. Best mins per goal ratio in 21-22 - Haaland 87.04 - Lewa 86.8 - Nunez 78.1 - ......Nunez was the most prolific in Europe.
@Star Dazing "Elliott is rated 73 out of 99, two ratings higher than Carvalho. Elliott has higher pace, passing and dribbling stats, whilst Carvalho..." Etc etc etc too much FiFa not enough appreciation of the footballers in the team you support. These are the things bubbling in your brain that would have you supporting propaganda like "Bellingham is world class while Carvalho & Elliot aren't". The eye test is simple. Everton just beat West Ham. An Elliot and Carvalho midfield drew with Everton. West Ham is going to beat Liverpool because there won't be an Elliot and Carvalho midfield but that's not the issue the issue is because fans like you aren't mute I'll have to witness another Henderson milner midfield and watch Liverpool languish in a mid table position and that's purely due to the stupidity of Liverpool fans or the intelligence of rival fans pretending to be Liverpool fans so they can confuse issues. I'm not saying Bellingham isn't world class all I'm saying is don't make this another Mbappe situation where the comments section purchases the player before the club does while simultaneously insulting all the hard work the present Liverpool Players put in
Here’s a point about mane that no one seems to have considered or brought up right. Reportedly mane told the club he wanted to leave not this summer just gone but the one before. After a disastrous season just scraping into top 4. So doesn’t that speak against the character implying that the moment things arnt going well he wants to jump ship? We not gonna talk about him requesting to leave after that 20/21 season?
He was on the same wages as ox for several years when he was integral to the squad and ox was running the clubs social media accounts, had every right to want to leave
Matt when you said Wijnaldum wasnt sold at the right time considering his present decline...i think youre wrong. Callum when you say diaz was instrumental in us winning two cups and chasing the quad...im certain youre wrong...Minamino was top scorer in the two cup competitions we won. Why is it so hard for you to admit when you're wrong? Like its easier to agree with trolls who say fsgout than it is to say Klopp made a bad decision not starting Minamino in our champions league final against Real Madrid and Courtois or not starting elliot and Carvalho over Henderson and Milner. Then some idiot is gonna troll me and say Minamino wouldnt have scored anyway. Liverpool deserves better than some of these fans.
@@SandersonShow I'm looking purely at goal contribution in the two cup wins and Minamino is top scorer in both so that's straight facts Diaz did not contribute more than Minamino. We sold Minamino at the wrong time. That's based on how important he was as a striker
@@Legendarylwilkinson876 I think that is part of the reason why Minamino left. But can you imagine Klopp subbing off Salah and Mane is a UCL final?. I would have played Minamino in one of the cup finals though. That is why Klopp likes keeping his squad thin. To escape these decisions
Anyone being harsh on Nunez should remember Nunez scored vs Haaland when Haaland didn't score and won a community shield & before that he scored 4 times in one game
Man are gassed mane's 1st touch been trashy same as salah's both are hit in miss. Both scrappy dribblers. But man's all action playing style will give you the impression he played well. Salah struggling to make any impact on games can't beat players from a standing position. Both are on a decline imo. We need to sell salah for best price possible to reinvest in the team. We're too sentimental still talking about mane gini origi guys move on this is getting beyond a joke now. I'm only interested in the lads at the club right now and yeah alot of them on a decline and should be transitioning from 1st team to squad roll. But can't happen because we are 3 windows behind. We need a 300 mill investment on the squad. We are lacking behind Madrid and city guys.
@Jay Anthony antony would have been my first choice. But it depends on what the team and klopp expect from the right hand side. A wide playmaker or a wide attacker. 🤔 slim pickings atm but any top player ain't coming to play second fiddle to a declining salah. So yeah this position will become a problem. Mohammed Kudos or Mohamed Ihattaren worth looking at before they're stock rises any higher. We're in Lidl middle section looking for bargains
@Jay Anthony back up rotation same thing bro. Shame our squad don't have that luxury. With you tho bro we should defo have 2 quality players for each position. 60+ games last season thats a big ask to ask this group to go again. I feel you on Salahs G&A that is defo gonna hit hard. 👊🏿

In 2017, Foden won the FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Ball award following England's successful Under-17 World Cup win.

RONALDO O FENOMENO ( 2 GOALS) AGAINST GERMANY 2002 ! .....🔥🔥🔥🐐🐐🐐
YES Nunez isnt "impressing" but it's weird to think he shud look stellar by himself looking at how we play offense.🤷😵
As for our transfer strategy ....
@@potjhm1 - u dont have to convince me. I like Nunez & wanted him b4 most pple. Im just skeptical we can get him to be that guy bcz of how we play.
Great content guys!!!! Top class radio. Talk sport don't got shit on you guys.
Also theres NO bids made for ox keita or jones.. all this rumours r just for gathering interest!!
Bellingham is now valued at 130m for Bellingham. Dortmund have put that price on him. He aint going no where.
I honestly don't believe in Nunez but if he turns out good ill be happy
Drift is right. Carvalho and Elliot are on the same level as Bellingham. This seasons goals should show that
Curtis Jones however is terrible
@Star Dazing hahahaha "just looked at stats". Are you listening to yourself? What else is there
@Jay Anthony your name is AJ and you're a creepy bisexual who has been trolling every positive comment on the channel since 2019. Aren't you tired?
I'm not saying Bellingham isn't world class all I'm saying is don't make this another Mbappe situation where the comments section purchases the player before the club does while simultaneously insulting all the hard work the present Liverpool Players put in
@Jay Anthony raise your hand when you want to speak
I hate missing live shows, always end up trying to talk in the chat and can't lol
You say I'm wrong, can you explain why you think that?
@@SandersonShow I'm looking purely at goal contribution in the two cup wins and Minamino is top scorer in both so that's straight facts Diaz did not contribute more than Minamino. We sold Minamino at the wrong time. That's based on how important he was as a striker
@@Legendarylwilkinson876 I think that is part of the reason why Minamino left.
But can you imagine Klopp subbing off Salah and Mane is a UCL final?.
I would have played Minamino in one of the cup finals though.
That is why Klopp likes keeping his squad thin. To escape these decisions
Why is someone a troll if he says Fsg Out?
Fsg OUT !!
@@Legendarylwilkinson876 I never said Diaz had a greater impact than minamino. I stated that Diaz helped galvanise the team and he defo did
OH MY GOD !,MISSED THE ENTIRE SHOW TONIGHT,I AM HUMBLE SORRY GUYS,I HAVE BEEN BUSY TODAY !🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
No worries at all bro 👊🏽🖤
@@KOPISH I LOVE YOU GUYS,...THANK YOU !🙏🙏💖
Mane has been dreadful for bayern drift.!!
Anyone being harsh on Nunez should remember Nunez scored vs Haaland when Haaland didn't score and won a community shield & before that he scored 4 times in one game
@Jay Anthony so first shaqiri was your target then minamino now it's nunez. You must be a paid troll. Nothing else makes sense
@Jay Anthony you do a pretty good job playing dumb.
