Just built this (finally) and I think it's one of the best if not THE best LEGO models I have put together. From the rigid sub-structure to the amazing angles and limited gaps, it's a stunning model to marvel at while building, as well as display.
Nothing tickles my fancy like nicely detailed + somewhat spatially accurate interiors in spaceships. The original SW Ghost set used to be at the top of my list in that respect. This is fantastic!
Am literally holding this set in Costco as I watch this, your reviews chime perfectly with me and how I engage with lego product releases. Absolutely love your detailed, frank and discerning breakdowns. Thank you for doing what you do and helping me make good informed choices! :D
Good to see you're still making LEGO reviews Jang! I watched you a tone when I was a kid, and I loved the content you made. After 7 years, it's great to see that you're still making quality reviews and still have a keen eye for excellence and detail! I've always wanted a LEGO Milano, and was pleasantly surprised to see your video while browsing TH-cam looking for reviews on the set. Thank you for providing such useful information, I now know that my money will be well spent on such a beautiful set! I don't know if you check TH-cam comments often, but if you're reading this right now, thank you so much!
By far my favorite ship design from any movie i have watched. The elegant shapes and angles look so good, and this set was a journey too build and is my favorite set from marvel so far,
My favorite part about this ship is that it doesn’t feel like a war ship but a home for Peter and the Guardians to hang out. The hawk motif has a fierce yet oddly comfy design since most space ships don’t take inspirations from animals. Also the blue and orange stand out so well.
This is without a doubt one of my favorite looking ships in Cinema, I love it so much. I wish they didn't change ships every movie but seeing as how the first guardians is one of my favorite movies of all time this might have to be a purchase.
I am totally amazed by the LEGO Marvel sets, and this one is no exception. I find it hard to believe that LEGO also makes Star Wars sets, where even the high-end ones seem like a poorly made 4+ set in comparison to these Marvel sets. This set is so cool.
This set is long overdue. The Milano from the original set had the colours and cockpit wrong. It wasn't really Lego's fault, since the studio changed the look of the ship late in post-production. I actually have a Subway promotional bag that had on it the old design they gave Lego, so I understand what Lego was trying to recreate. I bought the old Lego Milano from Guardians 1 online for a steal, bought the cockpit and stickers on Bricklink for the Guardians 2 set (which made a pint-sized Milano) and swaped the originals yellow pieces for orange ones. There were a few other small changes I made, but it actually ended up looking really, really good. It is not nearly as big as this set, but all the characters (and more) fit inside and it didn't cost me nearly as much. Interestingly enough, the orginal Milano used a lot of Tecnique pieces on the wing tips, which I think is a nice touch.
Honestly, the Ravager M-ship is probably the most consistently good LEGO vehicle (Not counting Rocket´s Warbird) The 2014 one was amazing and apart from the yellow instead of orange its a great set, the 2017 one was neat and I like how good it looks despite being downscaled into fitting the $50 price tag with all the things it included. the smaller 2017 version (Tazarface´s ship from 76079) also get the design great despite being $20. The 2018 Betanar was probably my favorite set from the Infinity War wave and I really like all the playability with its interior and the escape pod. Finally ending with the 2021 Benatar and now this Milano, both amazing display pieces with great figs and a lof of playability with the interiors Lego cooked hard fr
you are so right. this line has been amazing. i'm really hoping they give us a real version of Rocket's Warbird to display alongside the most recent 2.
@@xGhostCat My problem with the war bird is that its wings are waaaaay too flat and the cockpit piece really doesnt help it at that size. I just think that maybe if they bulked up the wings a little bit (smth like the big triangle pieces they use at the front of the 2017 Milano and 2018 Benatar) and used a different windshield piece then it would have looked so much better and made that $40 price tag more justified (Cuz imo it should have been 30-35)
I watched you build this on Twitch and I was impressed by the armature design. It looked really beefy! The end result is gorgeous! Easily the best Milano yet!
I managed to snag this on Boxing Day for about 180 nzd which is roughly 100 usd which is absolutely unheard of for something of this size, very glad to have it, especially for that price
I just finished mine last night after buying it at 2am on release day. I'm blown away. The build was smooth and nicely paced, all the different angles, the seamlessness of this set is too notch. I think this is the best set of 2024. As a big fan of the Benatar from a few years ago, this one feels much more polished. So great
It's very nice that you share your passio. With all of us and it is amazing that you also use your channel for good line, your fund raiser. You are a good man, Jang. And I loved the review. I'm convinced that I want to buy this milano set.
The Lego Marvel team needs to keep these types of sets coming . I’m interested in what a proper X-Men’s blackbird would look like maybe an comic book version of the
Great set. I didnt know the 25% discounts on release day were a europe exclusive thing. But for better fairness we have to pay the same amount of expensive euros as folks have to pay dollars in the us
Finished building this today. Absolutely love it. I was originally torn between this and Jaws but I think I made the right decision. It amazes me how good it looks from every angle and I love how all the shaping is completey brick built
Just finished building this and I was amazed at some of the build techniques and how all the various angles work led to come together. This here was a great enjoyable build. Also has a decent amount of space on the inside
This one is so epic!!! Way better than the Milanos of the past which is saying something because the others are great too... It's almost 100% perfect, because seriously Star-Lord not having his Mask/Helmet... What a huge mistake! I must have it though! :)
10:53 No, it doesn't "FEEL" lazy... it IS lazy. Star-Lord still had his helmet right up until the end of GotGv2 and by the time the helmet is destroyed, so too was the Milano. So the set being based on Vol.2 is no excuse not to include it.
I picked this up today for just $179 AUD ($116 USD) from a Black Friday sale here in Australia. I think I enjoyed the build of the Benatar from 2021 more, but the Milano is much more visually appealing and impressive. This is one of the coolest sci-fi ship designs I've ever seen, I haven't been able to get over it since 2014. Stoked with the set!
Thanks for a great review. Yours ALWAYS are! This really looks to be a strong set, with some very clever building, use of pieces rather than stickers (hooray!) and it's size and robustness.
It's an absolutely stunning set that's a real pleasure to build, the substructure is really interesting and all the angled panels very impressive when they click on. Great set, my favourite of the year for sure.
Seriously amazing depiction of the Milano! They did an excellent job designing this ship in Lego form! They would be hard pressed to make it any better, unless they go for a more minifig scaled one, but it would certainly cost more.
Such an epic spaceship. Could easily see this being customized with some of the recent Lego City Space pieces and have a current astronaut crew. Will definitely be watching out for some end of year sales to get this set.
making this ship with lego standards of quality was quite the challenge and I think that the designer really went above and beyond any of my expectations. I finished the build a few days ago and am absolutely amazed by how durable and how complex looking this set is without looking artificially buisy. The build was an awesome experience too. The only downside comes from the figures. I wish that we got something exciting with it (like yondu and or kraglin but 5 figures is decent enough. Missing starlord helmet is a bummer though. Anyways, I bought it for it's full retail price and feel satisfied with it.
Hey JANG. This awesome set is $330NZD here in New Zealand, i maybe able to let my 1st and 2nd Milano sets go, i have never opened them but i will be building this new set, i wish there was a mid leg part to set Rocket and totally with you on the black tech parts for collectors, good on you for your Stand Up donations.
It’s a good looking ship and the interior space is nice. And, it’s quite nice, as someone who is mostly a Lego Star Wars fan, to see ships that aren’t just different gray shapes. The colors in this really pop. Although, I feel like the Drax fig needs some love. The print looks great, but he looks so small compared to how he appears in the films; dude is built. He doesn’t need that Hulk body, but maybe a chest and shoulder piece similar to what Wrecker has for his armor in the Bad Batch figs.
I got a $50 discount from my Lego insiders points, just built it and it is a beauty. Everything is fits so satisfying at the front and it looks glorious. I would really recommend it, same as Jang.
This is absolutely amazing and a worthy successor to the already very excellent Guardians ship (Benatar) Lost opportunity though to base this entirely on the first Guardians movie
I think I can live without the helmet, the small Groot was something I noticed right away, too. Glad that there's enough room for more figures, glad all the figures are there for the most part, very elegant build. Sort of wonder what the non-wing version of it would look like :) Great to watch the early build events, too. Thanks for the review. If you have a chance could you go into that 90 degree build a bit more, didn't quite understand. I guess I can look up the directions but want to know why you think it's so significant as an experienced builder, if you have the inclination
It is a volume 1 set, but based on the final scene with the rebuilt ship and baby Groot dancing in the pot (although Groot's prints are still based on Vol2). Star Lord definitely should have the helmet, as he still had it in the beginning of Vol2
Easily the best GOTG Set LEGO has ever made, such great detail with a spacious interior, I have the OG team plus Nebula, Adam Warlock, and Agent Venom all in there 😎, it’s so awesome so happy I got it 😎‼️
Great Review and excellent critic! No Starlord .. otherwise clever assambly, smart color flow. No doubt, a well done construction, with cool presentation of most angles, and good interior.
This looks proper, I'm definitely getting this! It's too bad though because the Benetar should've been more like this as opposed to an over-built version of the original.
They need to start an official UCS line of marvel sets, I know sets like this and the modular sets sort of count, but they aren’t ethnically UCS sets, and we really need some for marvel
This is one of the best sets I now own, the only negative for me is that we didn’t get any new figures. There were so many that they could’ve included.
I'd really like them to use the Woody/Avatar legs for a Guardians 1 Groot. would give him the lanky look and make him taller than the others by a reasonable amount.
Already have two versions of this ship, so debating how badly I want this, but it's in serious consideration. Not as generous with interior space as the 2014 version but the shaping is a lot better.
You are right about europe in some stores in the Netherlands they give at least a couple of euro under the lego store price and in some cases they go done more over time could be about 30 euro for the bigger sets
I wish the this had more Minifigures. I get that they're basing this off the end of the first movie with plant pot Groot but it would be nice to get Nebula and Mantis. Yes Mantis only shows up after the ship is destroyed but it would be nice to have gotten a more complete Guardians team.
My only gripe with this set are the black panels on the back of the wings that are easy to knock off, as they're only partially connected with the SNOT piece. Otherwise it's perfect!
I had the old Milano and all the stickers (the circle mark and the Milano sign) started to come off. I was hoping that the new version would be printed ...
Not a Marvel fan, not a Guardians fan, I can’t even name all of the Guardians and have only seen the first movie but I’ll probably be picking this set up regardless.
Back in 2014 I bought a version of this ship as my first Lego purchase at the first Lego store in my city. I had no connection to marvel; o just wanted a big cool spaceship.
The only minor issue I have with this set is the gave star lord the Vol 3 face print and not the vol 1 face print. And I guess the lack of helmet for him to
10:48 this is supposed to be the version from the end of the first movie, where he's still growing in the pot. The ship doesn't look like this in Vol. 2 and they never wear these outfits, so that wouldn't make sense. As for the helmet, that was last used in 2021, so surely the mould shouldn't have been completely removed from production just yet?
I usually prefer Lego products to be as accessible as possible, but I do think this should have cost $20-40 more and included an additional set of the crew in their other uniforms, without removing the figures already there. The ship model itself is absolutely definitive, I think with an extra set of figures to cover all the bases this would easily be a completely definitive GOTG set for fans of those movies.
I'm kinda shocked at the price seeing how good this set was. I almost thought I misread it as $280 when I first saw it on a lego magazine. The size? Piece count? The functionality? The details? This is so uncharacteristic for Lego, especially for Marvel sets.
This set is only based on Guardians 1, so they should have brought back star lord's helmet. they brought baby groot piece back (in a pot) to show him from the end of the first film, also, the ravager outfits only appear in guardians 1, so them not bringing back star lord's helmet is inexcusable. rest of the set is great though.
It’s so impressive how the angles all came together, the designers should feel very proud of their work on this
Gosh the ratio of studded to tiled surfaces on this is absolutely perfect. One of the best marvel models we’ve ever gotten
The shaping in this set is next level
Just built this (finally) and I think it's one of the best if not THE best LEGO models I have put together. From the rigid sub-structure to the amazing angles and limited gaps, it's a stunning model to marvel at while building, as well as display.

LEGO has taken their war on my bank account to the next level.

Such an awesome set! In Europe, it was available in the free market for 135€ from the start. Absolute steal at that price!
Pretty much only lego set currently on my ‘want’ list.
this one and ne new Cole's new Mech. that thing is gorgeous.

They've stepped it up every time they've redone this set! Shout out to the designer, as they seem to have reached the peak with this one

I don't care for Marvel but this set looks magnificent. Bravo and big ups to the designers for this awesome looking and constructed build!
Lost both my parents to cancer, thank you for the charity work.
12:48 those view point changes are REALLY good, I like them a lot
Thanks Jang! You've convinced me to buy this set, it would look so perfect next to my other GOTG ship. Once again awesome and helpful video!

Awesome review as always, Jang! I'd love to get this set, I've always liked how this ship looked.
That Gamora head would make a good Wicked Witch head for the new Wicked sets

Always wanted a Milano. This is the set I’ve been waiting for.

The shaping is done so amazingly well, definitely one of the better sets they've released.
I really loved the first large Milano set, so this set is basically a huge upgrade from that one. I'll definitely buy it.
Oh wow, this looks really nice!
Best Milano Yet. Wow great space ship in this space heavy year.
Looks great and looks to be a fun build!
nice ship, nice review, as always, thank you Jang!

Thanks for the excellent review of an excellent set!
Just a quick correction, it's not a GotG vol. 2 model but it's meant to represent the last few moments of vol. 1.
This is absolutely amazing and a worthy successor to the already very excellent Guardians ship (Benatar) Lost opportunity though to base this entirely on the first Guardians movie
One of my favourite ships period, I got the Benetar because there wasn’t a Milano but now I’ll just have to get this one too!
I think I can live without the helmet, the small Groot was something I noticed right away, too. Glad that there's enough room for more figures, glad all the figures are there for the most part, very elegant build. This is a must buy for sure, despite owning the orange one.

This would look great next to the Benetar.
Great Review and excellent critic!
No Starlord .. otherwise clever assambly, smart color flow. No doubt, a well done construction, with cool presentation of most angles, and good interior.
Groot with a avatar minifigure body would be so nice to have, haven’t had one since the buildable figure in the first ship
In Australia the RRP is $299, but Target here had it discounted to $239 for the first week so this was a day 1 pickup for me
Such a nice looking spaceship
Ooooh, I want it, but I already have the 76192 Benatar and so, so many other similarly priced sets in my purchase queue!
This looks proper, I'm definitely getting this! It's too bad though because the Benetar should've been more like this as opposed to an over-built version of the original.
Great set and review! In Germany you can already get it at a 26 % discount...
That Milano sticker can stay on the sheet. Always like it when a vehicle has interior space to place figs.
Very cool set, will have to be a buy for me 👍
They need to start an official UCS line of marvel sets, I know sets like this and the modular sets sort of count, but they aren’t ethnically UCS sets, and we really need some for marvel
Incredible
What are these hearts on your arm?
This is one of the best sets I now own, the only negative for me is that we didn’t get any new figures. There were so many that they could’ve included.
I'd really like them to use the Woody/Avatar legs for a Guardians 1 Groot. would give him the lanky look and make him taller than the others by a reasonable amount.
Already have two versions of this ship, so debating how badly I want this, but it's in serious consideration. Not as generous with interior space as the 2014 version but the shaping is a lot better.
I have the original Benatard and the Bowie, and now I can finally complete my Guardian’s Ship collection
ugh...the Bowie was a huge disappoint in my eyes. i liked that it was different, but it did not translate well into lego
You are right about europe in some stores in the Netherlands they give at least a couple of euro under the lego store price and in some cases they go done more over time could be about 30 euro for the bigger sets
I want the blue triangular pieces in the set
Needed Star lord’s helmet and adult Groot in the style of the long leg/arm Avatar figures
I wish the this had more Minifigures. I get that they're basing this off the end of the first movie with plant pot Groot but it would be nice to get Nebula and Mantis. Yes Mantis only shows up after the ship is destroyed but it would be nice to have gotten a more complete Guardians team.
I feel like I have to get this. It would look so good next to the Benatar
My only gripe with this set are the black panels on the back of the wings that are easy to knock off, as they're only partially connected with the SNOT piece. Otherwise it's perfect!
Well well well, a fancy ship
M'Lano
I had the old Milano and all the stickers (the circle mark and the Milano sign) started to come off. I was hoping that the new version would be printed ...
Not a Marvel fan, not a Guardians fan, I can’t even name all of the Guardians and have only seen the first movie but I’ll probably be picking this set up regardless.
I’m going to the LEGO store next week, hoping I can find this bad boy there.
Back in 2014 I bought a version of this ship as my first Lego purchase at the first Lego store in my city. I had no connection to marvel; o just wanted a big cool spaceship.
Im living in europe and yeah, on the 2 biggest online retailers in my country its already 150 euros, so thats pretty cool for us
Star-Lord needs his helmet! It is far too rare these days
My one gripe is this feels like a missed opportunity to give us the more iconic pre-Ravager uniforms, never got one for Gamora.
The view from the top is nice but I think I like the previous one a bit more.
James Gunn himself said grey is the correct color for drax, the green one is comic accurate though
Very nice set. Price is up there so a person better be a fan. Not saying its not worth the value but its not easy just buying expensive sets.

I like it looks awesome
