I used to be that girl who would post photos of myself in a bikini and I would do it out of receiving validation (likes) from others. As I've given my life up for Christ and began my walk with Him, modesty was an area I purposely avoided because I still struggled with it. However, recently - the Holy Spirit has led me to learn more about modesty through watching TH-cam videos and it has completely changed my outlook on it! Our bodies are not our own. Christ bought them with a price. And we ought to dress our bodies to REPRSENT Christ and glorify Him rather than for ourselves or for approval/attention of others! YES. I thought I'd add a comment speaking as a fairly young man. I think that this video is absolutely spot-on in addressing this subject. I believe both men and women should be modestly dressed. I especially want to comment on the part where you said that how you dress determines what kind of attention you receive. From my perspective, women who choose to live out this particular doctrine are rare. As a Christian, I want to be with a woman who takes her faith seriously and lives by the Bible, no matter how the culture thinks of them. To any woman reading this, please do not be afraid of standing out for choosing to live a modest lifestyle. I really respect people who aren't afraid to stand out for their faith.
Modesty of personality is something one should consider as well. How one acts can send a lot of messages as well. Thanks for the video, God Bless you. Have a great weekend.

Tough topic but you handled this so well, it's apparent you prayed and leaned on God to speak on this. Definitely an important topic, too many Christians and people in general avoid the topic of modesty but so important to talk about!
*The idea of "modesty" is a complete joke. I appreciate this and felt you handled the topic very well. I actually appreciated the lack of a list of “dos and don’ts” because I feel modesty is in part a personal conviction... someone may not feel comfortable in the same clothes I do, and that’s totally fine. Provided we are both seeking God, no one is in the wrong.
I think context and audience are so important in being wise in different situations. The swimming costume I wore on my honeymoon isn't the one I would choose to take my nieces to the water park. Nor would I allow a social media post of myself wearing it. And I certainly wouldn't be wearing it to a cafe or the shops (a common occurrence with the 'beach culture' in my part of the world).
Couldn't agree with this more! There's certainly an appropriate context for different things and think you laid that out so well with the examples you gave! 🙌🏼
*The main problem with us as humans regarding physical modesty is that we view our bodies (nudity) as being inherently sexual. This is a false premise for the following reasons...* *Bathing, changing clothes, childbirth, breastfeeding, sleeping, going to a sauna, getting a massage (at a spa), nurturing the elderly, nurturing the handicap ♿, locker rooms (for athletes).* *All of these things require (or can involve) nudity but have nothing to do with anything sexual. Why? Because nudity isn't inherently sexual, it's only looked at like that because we make it sexual. So we can't assume that someone showing skin (not necessarily completely nude) is sexualising themselves so we can't say that you can "cause someone to lust" by not dressing "modestly".*
People think that just because we are made beautiful in the image of God means we can show our bodies. That is not the right perspective. God made everyone beautiful but we have to keep it for the right purpose and timing. Marriage was made by God so we no longer have to struggle with lust and sexual sin. And because marriage unites a man and a woman to become one, shame and guilt is removed and the couple can enjoy being naked among themselves as long as it’s kept out of public viewing. We are beautiful but it’s only for our spouse’s enjoyment. The union of spouse’s allows them to freely enjoy each other’s naked body whether it’s for viewing or for pleasure (touching and sexual intercourse) because that is God’s intention for them. Anything outside of marriage is considered a sin.

*Lust isn't about the physical aspect, it's about the psychological. Lust is a form of abuse and like all forms of abuse the psychological element is what drives the whole issue. As a survivor of childhood, domestic abuse, I know this almost better than anyone. Just found your channel and I love it! I have been looking for a Christian TH-cam who doesn’t just call themselves one, but lives it out. Thank you for this video! I’m going to share it with my younger cousins ❤️
I love watching your videos they are so informing and helps me with my walk with Christ so much! This video specifically is amazing and a good watch for people in the world today!! What is funny is I was trying to explain this to my friends like two nights ago and I couldn't quite explain it well (I am not good at putting things into words, but I do try to lead by example) this video was perfect at explaining modesty and confirms what I was trying to tell them so thank you so so much!!
Romans 12:2 KJV- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. ESV- Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. The same verse in different versions are so different. I wonder why
Classy presentation. I've noticed no one approaches specific clothing, EVER! Yoga pants leggings tights are todays norms and yes no one will condemn them for sure even though a female wearing them leaves nothing to the imagination in fact brings more intense provocative attention than being totally naked! Males with no females present, in discussion of this, 100% agree no exception. Is shocking that this fashion has become the norm 😮
Yes girl, I love that you put this video discussion together 💛 Really beautifully said. I too choose to wear modest clothes, however, this took time for me. As a teenager I wanted to show more skin because that’s how most girls dressed but as I matured spiritually, I began to see clothing differently. I appreciated many scriptural thoughts such as found in 1 Tim 2:9,10 and also the beautiful example of Esther who although was beautiful in appearance (Esther 2:7) she manifested the adornment of “the secret person of the heart.. of the quiet and mild spirit.” She did not count showy adornment as the important thing and because of this she gained favor in Gods eyes. In fact, he dedicated a whole book about her for our example 😊 I also appreciated your point that the world changes but God does not. Fads come and go but Gods standards of modesty remain the same. We do not want to allow ourselves to be swayed by the worlds opinion of what looks good on us but rather that modest clothing is beautiful in Gods eyes because it reflects love for him and modesty in mind and heart. ❤️
Hey guys!! I’m a teenage Catholic who started my journey abt 11 months ago. I genuinely want to know if my school skirt is too short or not, its about above my fingertips if I put my arms down. I want to know honest opinions bcz I genuinely want to dress modestly.
thank you for this video! would you consider making an end times video on any topic ( rapture, rewards in heaven, antichrist, deception in church, etc.) because there are so many topics that can be covered
My problem is that I would love to wear more skirts and dresses but they just don''t suit me well. I was actually thinking about this for a few days, so your video didn't come as a cincidence for me, but I'm very depressed now. If I had bigger hips, and wasn't so slim, I would be thrilled to wear skirts, but now I just now I would feel ridiculuos and feel and look ugly.
I used to wish that so bad and now that I'm quite a bit bigger my hips are too big and I don't like skirts or dresses on me much. It's funny how we always want to look different. When we are skinny we want curves and when we are curvy we want to be thin. We just need to be content in the Lord and be guided by His Word! I wish I was thinner but I just have to figure out what looks best for my new body shape for the time being. Good luck my dear!
Young lady, thank you for thinking about how men can be easily distracted into unintended sin by ladies dressing immodestly. It is our fault if we sin, not yours. We need your help. This comment is from a man’s perspective.
Personally, while I do believe that people should be allowed to dress modestly without being insulted for it and stuff, I don't believe that Bible teaches that lust is a sin. There are verses that equate it with potential to sin, but lust alone isn't labelled as sin. The verse in Matthew 5:27-27 doesn't translates as condemning lust in the original texts. In it's original text, it reads "Ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐρρέθη· οὐ μοιχεύσεις. ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ βλέπων γυναῖκα πρὸς τὸ ἐπιθυμῆσαι αὐτὴν ἤδη ἐμοίχευσεν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ." What that most closely means in English is “You heard it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a wife in order to covet her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” The standard understanding of that verse is that it's saying that man is sinning just by seeing a woman and feeling temptation, but what's it's actually doing emphasizing the important of the Old Testament rule about not coveting another person's wife. In other words, it's mental adultery to look at a woman who's married while yearning to want to be intimate with her, even though she's already married. Does that make sense? The other thing I'd say to this is that it may indeed be seem wise for a believer to ask oneself if what they are wearing is something they'd be comfortable wearing around godly women, in front of their husbands etc., the issue there is that most Christians don't believe that wearing that type of thing around one's spouse is wrong, but the point still stands that believers generally wouldn't wear such stuff in front of certain individuals that they are clearly supposed to respect. So I personally don't think that we can necessarily say that just because a believer wouldn't wear something around such person, it's wrong to wear that thing in other contexts.
@@Desiree_Rose I'm not lowering it. I'm literally telling the truth about what the original text says and means. You have not disproven my claim. All you've done is show that you're offended by me not interpreting it how your church interprets it. Not once did I change or add to anything the Bible says
Personally I dont care what someone wears. I'll wear what i want regardless of who it's in front of. Hell the last time I ever set foot in a church is when I wore one of my old band shirts. Some people didn't like it, I didn't care. It fit so I wore it and If I had an attractive body and I wasn't butt ugly then I'd go out in a muscle shirt or shirtless more often. As it stands I'm ugly and my body is trash so I cover it.
Honestly I dont care what someone wears. If I wasnt grossly ugly and had a nice body I'd probably show it off too. That said its not my job to keep others from stumbling. People don't have to look. As for the school topic,, I'd never go to a school that dictates my hair length or demands I wear a stupid collard shirt. If girls wanna wear a two piece then more power to them because its not my problem. Besides it doesn't matter how I dress. Even if its supposedly only meant for a wife, it'll ever happen no matter how much I pray or ask god for a wife. so why should I care.
The first lesson Lord taught to His creation was to make modest clothes by disapproving revealing what they made. God has not changed, He is the same forever. More revealing clothes have brought rape, sex trafficking, and sexual assault. Your body and yes only you can take care of it since we are free to choose. Remember why God made enough clothes for the people who knew nothing about cloth. The answer is simple, to cover the body. Cloth is simply made to cover and if you are revealing then go to the Lord He will show you the standard since HE started the clothes code, not a worldly designer. We do not allow our daughter to wear a 2 piece, she is now 9. We also do not allow her to wear shorty shirts, or mid drift shirts. I tell her, she is not a fish, she does not need to be baited. When girls wear provocative clothing, they are trolling. A side note, there are more sex traffickers than you all realize, don’t let your girls be the next victim. Don’t put them on display for show and tell, someone may call your bluff.
No, society is becoming more immodest and moving away from God. People/women don’t like that their behavior is inappropriate, and they call conflate Gods word for mans oppression.
As Christ-followers, our motivation in all things, should be to glorify God. 💛 Let me know your thoughts on this topic down below! ✨

Thank you for this video. I am a married woman (23 years married) and still found this very helpful. ❤

Romans 12:2
KJV- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
ESV- Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
The same verse in different versions are so different. I wonder why
I've always appreciated how modest you are IRL!! Love you, girly, and all of your videos!!
Thank you for this thought provoking discussion ❤🙏🏽
Thank you for watching, and I’m so glad you found it thought-provoking! 🙏🏼💛
Great Sermon Nicole 🙌🏽. I admire your modesty and your opinion on this!
Thank you ☺️ and God bless you ☺️☺️
I love this. I wish I would have heard this message when I was a young girl ! God bless you :)
Well done young lady. Loved your approach and the verses you shared!
Sister, I enjoyed this video on Christian modesty 🥰🥰 you did a wonderful job sister 🥰🥰 God bless you!!
Aw thank you so much, God bless you as well 🤗
@@kacinicole you're welcome 😍😍😍
Modesty is goodness.
Anybody else watching this in 2021??
Classy presentation. I've noticed no one approaches specific clothing, EVER! Yoga pants leggings tights are todays norms and yes no one will condemn them for sure even though a female wearing them leaves nothing to the imagination in fact brings more intense provocative attention than being totally naked! Males with no females present, in discussion of this, 100% agree no exception. Is shocking that this fashion has become the norm 😮
Excellent, Kaci!
I am loving your videos!Videos like this give me inspiration in my walk with the Lord. :)
"Dressing for the Lord" by David Cloud is a good book that expounds on this matter.
God bless you!
Hi Kaci, there are many Bible translations in this world. Do you know what Bible translation that is the word of God?
You reminded me of my teenage years not being to wear two piece bathing suits and having to wear skirt😊 or dress below the knee ❤❤
thank you
you are so right👍
Amen very good
Hey guys!! I’m a teenage Catholic who started my journey abt 11 months ago. I genuinely want to know if my school skirt is too short or not, its about above my fingertips if I put my arms down. I want to know honest opinions bcz I genuinely want to dress modestly.
Excellent explanation! 👍💓
thank you for this video! would you consider making an end times video on any topic ( rapture, rewards in heaven, antichrist, deception in church, etc.) because there are so many topics that can be covered
Thank you so much this is amazing !! ❤️
hi kacy sis , i like your video so much i am from india i will sharing the video with my friends
Good luck my dear!
really? I was taught skirts and dresses are immodest and trousers are modest.... so I got sad because I thought it meant I had to stop wearing dresses
🙏
Which Bible version do you use, if you don't mind?
I use the ESV generally!
sounds like you have good Parents
Yes, definitely thankful for them 😊
i loved this video!

I'm not lowering it.
Is going braless wrong? Who likes going braless? Kaci Nicole what do you say?

This modesty it becoming more misogynistic and sexist it pushing people away from God
No, society is becoming more immodest and moving away from God. People/women don’t like that their behavior is inappropriate, and they call conflate Gods word for mans oppression.
I be scared of modesty because I think you have to look like a Nun or those Mormon people I like wearing whatever what I like to wear
