I'm learning the Liszt transcription of Ave Maria and one thing that helps me with the voicing on the really hard/dense parts is to think the number of the finger I want to voice in my head while I play the chord. Sort of similar to the visualization thing you were talking about.
Thanks so much for tips on voicing. I'm currently working on Chopin etude no 1 from the three new etudes and the left hand arpeggios played against the RH melody line can sound a bit muddy if not voiced correctly. I think these tips will help.
Hi Josh love your videos any chance you can do one on playing between the black keys. Is it a good idea or is it only used sometimes etc Many thanks Brian
Hi Josh, I've been playing the piano for roughly a years but I was still unable to gain strength for my fourth finger. Are there any exercise to strengthen the fourth finger or it is natural that that fourth finger can't be reinforced? thank you
Every video helps to improve my playing. Thank you so much!:)
You are unbelievably knowledgeable, thank you!

My son is working on Chopin's polonaise in c sharp minor (26/1 ) and the meno mosso is all voicing. There are many good ideas here. Love your videos.

Check out Hanon The Virtuoso Pianist! The fourth finger absolutely can be strengthened with practice :)
Hi Josh 😀
Of course, in Jazz, "voicing" refers to the selection of non-melody notes. I would characterize the topic of this video as "phrasing dynamics."
Which Chopin etude was that?
Marian Palko Étude op. 10, n° 3 (Tristesse)
chopin etude at 10 years old
this kind of work, plays great for rachmaninov music
