After taking a long break at the game, I recently got my Tenryu Lee to Fujin. Considering that this is my first Tekken I've played online, I'm decently proud of myself. Update: Just made it to Raijin, baby!
I don't think these stats are valid unless they test for variance. For what you know, simple randomness can explain the distribution they collected. Tekken stats gg used a more accurate method but unfortunately it's down now.
Rank almost doesn't mean anything in this game because the system is built for you to rank up easily. When you're on the edge of demotion it's literally better to get demoted and win again so you can get a lot of points back, which is stupid imo.
That's true until you reach Fujin. In Fujin, after 3 consecutive losses, the game takes you 1.000 points away, which is a very harsh treatment tbh (and it also makes players not ask for rematch when they lose). It is true that ranking back up is actually easy, but going to Raijin has been a real struggle to me.
You can make the argument until fujin, otherwise nah. The true tekken experience begins from Fujin. Also they designed the system like that for player retention. Tekken 7 was far too punishing and sweaty in rank. In tekken 8 the same feeling begins more around Rajin/Bushin. Rather purple ranks in tekken 7. Either way good luck trying to get out of blue. If you manage that you're better than 90% of tekken players globally. Something not easily said.
I think fujin being the most common is actually ‘expected’ as it aligns with the player count remaining for tekken which is decreasing. The only people left playing now after months are the hardcore ones
@@theamazingrobin927took me a while to get Tekken Emperor but I think the real last step are the god ranks. I see the gold ranks as split between the first two and the last three
Bruh i got tekken god but still playing rank😂 its way better than to play quick matches I was also there buddy U truly reached it when u can play carefree but still give 100% to it
Seriously bro. People talk about rank being sweaty in Tekken 7 and 8 and I remember struggling just to get out of the green ranks lol. If you were able to make it to Vanquisher in Tag2 you were a really good player, probably comparable to a Raijin/Kishin in T8
I was at fujin and lost 3 straight games and got demoted right away. I fought my way back to fujin and never touched ranked again. So far I have 8 characters at fujin rank.
Thanks man. Took a break away and left it at Tenryu about a month and a bit ago (once I completed the battle pass I put tekken down for other life stuff). I'm a little spooked to get into it again and now push to the "common rank". Thanks for the positive words.
Something that you also forgot to mention but was a minor detail is that reina's popularity also went down heavily because a bunch of heihachi mainswere playing reina and were waiting for their main to come back and when he did they instantly ditched reina.
People can get to blue ranks without skill just relying on flowcharts, knowledge checks, one and dones, and even plugging. I have fought and beat a bunch of blue players and notice that some know frames, can punish, sidestep etc, and some have 0 clue and play like a red player or even worse than some orange players. Seriously. And I beat them as a lowly red player. I believe I belong there atm.(in red ranks) Either way, rank does not always represent skill.
This is my first tekken. I stopped playing ranked the same month the game came out. In ranked I was getting too many people that didn't really seem to want to play the game. Rage quits, one and done, and salty dms. As someone who works night shift and has to play after work I just dont have time for that shit. It can take up to 10 just to find a match and even then they usually have wifi and a crazy high DC rate. Then you get into a match and they rage quit round one. Now im back waiting for another opponent. And that sucks. So I just started hanging out in the lounge w/ people way above my skill level. I get beat up all the time but Ive learned so much from the lounge homies and they're willing to run the set. Now im at the point where i can take a few rounds off the kings and gods in the lounge who were perfecting me when the game dropped. But I will probably just stay at red ranks. I never really cared about ranked, just wanted to play the game. So I'll just continue hanging out in the lounge. Ive been Shinryu for the entire year xD
I genuinely believe all the new players who weren't going to get into tekken are gone and now it's just people who are here to stay without major changes to the rank structure one day tekken king will be the most common rank
I hate looking at these charts because it's always missing the bigger picture. As far as I am aware these are statistics from active players, so of course the ranks are just going to keep shifting further right if we cant view the rank of everyone who has played. It's the same as when people complain about popular characters having low win rates or less popular characters having high win rates, this is a common theme in literally any game, not just fighting games. It boils down to only half the data being presented and a misunderstanding of what the statistics represent.
The reason why Fujin is such a popular rank is because it gets really hard to get out of that rank because people keep on leaving matches when they lose and most people just start playing player matches at that point. For example, when I was in that rank, I won five matches in a row and everybody left then I lost a match start losing points. At this point, there is no reason to play ranked matches.
She’s easy to understand, strong heat, powerful reversals, and a waifu. Tier lists don’t matter in ranked really. You’re rarely going to fight people like Mainman or Knee playing their mains in the wild.

Tiers doesn't mean anything unless you're the top 0,1% of players actively competing in international tournaments. Until then, just knowing how to break throws, which way to sidestep and when to duck in a string and proper punishment is the main factor for your ranking and skills.
Bushin Paul and I got back into the game after being 6 months away. Now I am playing Bryan trying to get him to Tekken King+ and I can tell you this. The Red and Purple ranks have gotten better and worse since I have been gone lol. It has been a fun experience to see.

There's this one guy named "Planted Medusa" who taught a lot of people how to get out of the blue ranks. It's extremely applicable to the lower ranks too. To summarize, all you need to do is to do a move over and over, then see how your opponent reacts. And then try to beat whatever your opponent is doing. It got my Kazuya and Claudio rank up from Red to Blue in around 4 to 5 play sessions each. xD Decided to take a break and see how many more characters I can put on Blue. Reina is next on my list.
I made it to Tekken King with Yoshimitsu in the summer. I found it really hard to be consistent since then and progress anymore. I made it to Emperor for about 4 sets and then lost it never to return! It was a lot easier to get other characters to blue ranks. Currently up to 7 other blue rank characters, now I just need online team battles!
They have to... HAVE TO... Absolutely have to add more ranks in Season 2. The sharp decline probably feels like crap. If the slope downwards was as steady as the incline to Fujin, it would be perfection
i finally reached tekken king today for the first time and i really got to say second half of blue ranks was a real struggle i play bryan it gets way way harder to score some counter hits in second half
I've bought the game at the end of august, mainly for Reina after playing a bit of T7 back in like 2020/21, and I've just hit mighty ruler with her. This is the highest rank I've ever got, and it made me pull my fckn hair out, but I'm here to stay, and plan on eventually taking her to G.O.D. even if i go bald by that point. But still, it's pretty cool, to finally be able to "enjoy" tekken, and fighting games in general.
Not surprising at all, Fujin is the end goal a lot of players set for themselves in this game. Most of the casuals have already left the game, so now people who want to improve to some degree are the main playerbase
As someone who has reached Fujin...I can confirm its both the rank to go to and its where everyone is gonna be stuck. I KNEW Panda and those other characters had high winrates right up until the rank that basically doesn't matter to me. So yeah you revealed the ACTUAL tier lists of the game...because the standard ones don't apply to 99 percent of the planet.
My main is Flame Ruler but I think I can get to Fujin easy enough, just been getting the other chars to Garyu as a way of understanding what they do. At this point I can pretty much get any char to Garyu in a day, I just use and abuse their gimmicks.
I'm blue rank with 2 characters atm but I'd rather just be somewhere on the ladder that males sense like Garyu or something. Like I'm trash at the game. I don't feel like I should be in blue ranks considering like 5 ranks away is pro player dudes who I could probably never take a set off the rest of my life haha
As someone who came back to t8 after several months of not playing and went from orange ranks to fujin, I am pretty proud of myself. Tho I want to reach raijin eventually to get ahead of the curve 😅
Wow...ok. got ahead of the curve at Bushin but man did I grind a long time at Fujin/Raijin..hope I can hit TK soon so I can take a break...Bushin is getting crazy too. Soon everyone might be there..lol...
Man I hit Garyu, Garyu is the most common rank, I hit MR, MR is the most populated rank, I hit Fujin, Fujin is the most populated rank. I know rank doesn’t mean anything but MAN
4 months ago I struggled to get onto Vanquisher and then took a long break due to work. Recently when I returned to the game I felt like the game had become easier and occasionally I would encounter some regular opponents that spam or low combo dmg or even no using the combo still reach Mighty Ruler Now i reach Fujin this day and not fee l so achive at all, not hard like Tekken 7
Wow who would believe shout out to all my fujin players , just made to tekken god 3 days ago after intense matches ,now I’m taking a break from rank it’s not healthy 😂😂 too stressful
The matchmaking is weird in this game. I was hardstuck in kishin for a month and the game matched me with same player 3 times in a row, sent me to bushin with 6 win streak. My opponent got demoted with 6 consecutive losses. Probably lost like 4k points 😢
Drag bottom 10 in top ranks is actually quite interesting, I guess Ulsan was not joking when he said that he was hit hard in recent patches. He is also quite low even in intermediate and advanced
i feel like if they have a rank that only a few people can get each season would give people more incentive to play ranked. not that they already have an incentive but in brawlhalla you have this exclusive rank called valhallan that a certain number of top players get every season. i feel like if tekken did that it would be od
Got Tekken King in the first month with a 75% win rate but was hardstuck blue in T7. Ranking in this game is way easier in T7 if only for the ranked changes alone, contrary to what people like TMM say. I quit playing ranked, and mostly stopped playing in general, though I think I could get near or at GoD but T8 just isn't all that fun especially with the discrepancies in ranked and the game in general. It's just more fun playing deathmatches with good players after a while, feels like you're actually improving. Honestly they need to add another rank similar to Tekken God Omega because the fluctuations in GoD are crazy. I disagree with the Fujin take, it's like the new red rank, it's where you should be at by default if you play the game enough to learn the mechanics, it's not really a good indicator of skill difference. You need to look at the context of the "top 1/3rd" percentile because most of the playerbase before are super casual and don't really play the game. It's really only at Fujin do you get players that actually start grinding ranked so it's no wonder that rank distribution is increasing
Steve zafina kazuya and asuka still mid. Thanks bamco for the months of carefully constructed balanced that changed nothing overall 😂. Might as well have saved the trouble for dragunov 8 yoshi 8 Nina 8
What does the first set of data actually show? Is it games played at that rank? Is it unique tekken ID’s that have that rank? Is this an indicator of how many people have that rank, or is it an indicator of which rank is currently grinding the hardest laugh😅

@@Santanazation I’m considering waiting too until the next patch to grind out the rest to Tekken King. I’m looking for nerfs to very problematic characters that are just making the grind more frustrating than it already is on it’s own.
Blue ranks is truly a slug fest You can be bushin 200k prowess. Get to tekken king, gain 40-50k prowess. Now you’re in real blue ranks. Now you gotta vs Tekken king + players or GOD ranks on their alt characters. You may actually Get demoted all the way back to fujin/raijin and have to re climb back up. Ah, yes, the moment i thought i got somewhat decent in this game by getting to fujin it turned out that i'm still barely above average :D Oh, well, fair enough, actually, for a scrub who, like, eats 4 out of 5 lows (and that means i know that matchup lol) it's a good result, i think
Do i need to come back and Improve Tekken King rank? Only been demoted 3 times since Tekken 8 launch. I think i'll switch to secondary and go for Tekken God once I've got a second Tekken King.
The greed of man 😂 All I ever wanted was to reach Kishin and I would be satisfied. Yesterday, I reached Kishin and I wanted to see how much more I could get. So, I got demoted...😅
Damn I stopped playing the game for awhile because of all the games coming out and now this happens. I haven't even made it out of red yet. I got some work to do.
Zafina is one of the most overpowered characters in this game, the win rates, rank pick rates and ranks all prove it, the characters moveset and design prove it but no one will acknowledge it for 2 reasons. Most players are below the rank zafina becomes common, i.e Tekken god and above. Zafina mains are among the biggest down players in history and will forever whine about how bad her tools are even if they break the core design principles of the game itself.
@@Pokeysanic Is the mindset not to use mids or highs or slow lows. Because that leaves like 3 moves to play with. And if that's the strategy I wouldn't exactly call that balanced

Decided to take a break and see how many more characters I can put on Blue. Reina is next on my list.
Made to Fujin with Steve, and damn was it a mission
Dont worry they will add a new rank called God of Creation in some years that will be VERY hard to get like in t7
mark my words
I was here😂
I made it to Tekken King with Yoshimitsu in the summer.
Great video!
i finally reached tekken king today for the first time and i really got to say second half of blue ranks was a real struggle i play bryan it gets way way harder to score some counter hits in second half
Bushin/Feng main
This makes me kinda happy lol
The rank system literally pushes you toward Fujin so it's not surprising.
I got to fujin in September and haven’t touched it since. I live on quick matches now
cool to know i was in the top 4% at one point, I lost tekken emperor but I will get it back eventually
I also beat a god of destruction in quick match the other day
Bro really said "bussin"
Wow...ok. got ahead of the curve at Bushin but man did I grind a long time at Fujin/Raijin..hope I can hit TK soon so I can take a break...Bushin is getting crazy too. Soon everyone might be there..lol...
Bro u didnt get the game its not about taking a break after reaching anything its enjoying it play carefree but give 100% to it
im bushin, but tekken emporor fear me.
I'm Kishin. Only 15% of players are better than me. Not bad at all.
I just realized ur a joycon boy, you got a sub from me
It's now starting to look like an actual bell curve,
Man I hit Garyu, Garyu is the most common rank, I hit MR, MR is the most populated rank, I hit Fujin, Fujin is the most populated rank. I know rank doesn’t mean anything but MAN
End of season 3:
I need to get GoD, AT LEAST...
4 months ago I struggled to get onto Vanquisher and then took a long break due to work. Recently when I returned to the game I felt like the game had become easier and occasionally I would encounter some regular opponents that spam or low combo dmg or even no using the combo still reach Mighty Ruler
Now i reach Fujin this day and not fee l so achive at all, not hard like Tekken 7
Not surprised. I thought Fujin wasn’t that hard to get
Wow who would believe shout out to all my fujin players , just made to tekken god 3 days ago after intense matches ,now I’m taking a break from rank it’s not healthy 😂😂 too stressful
I once reached fujin with Kazuya then demoted shortly after. I can't get out of purple ranks and i feel very stupid.
The matchmaking is weird in this game. I was hardstuck in kishin for a month and the game matched me with same player 3 times in a row, sent me to bushin with 6 win streak. My opponent got demoted with 6 consecutive losses. Probably lost like 4k points 😢
When tekken gifts you a farm you take it proudly 😂
Drag bottom 10 in top ranks is actually quite interesting, I guess Ulsan was not joking when he said that he was hit hard in recent patches. He is also quite low even in intermediate and advanced
Big up Boogard
i feel like if they have a rank that only a few people can get each season would give people more incentive to play ranked. not that they already have an incentive but in brawlhalla you have this exclusive rank called valhallan that a certain number of top players get every season. i feel like if tekken did that it would be od
Are u recoding form a dorm room lol nice keep grinding wanna se more vids from u
First serious tekken game for me, I managed to get Steve, hei, kaz, Bryan and Lee to fujin am I chillin?
From garyu of destruction to Fujin of destruction. Intresting. 🤔
Steve zafina kazuya and asuka still mid. Thanks bamco for the months of carefully constructed balanced that changed nothing overall 😂. Might as well have saved the trouble for dragunov 8 yoshi 8 Nina 8
Dang i got TGS and thought it wasnt that big
Damn, still stuck at tenryu and already tired.
Need to hit the lab later it seems
New drinking game, shot every time the data is interesting 😂😂
Heihachi is this high because of dlc factor. But don't get me wrong he will stay a popular character
Me with bryan at warrior:
guess i'm not so bad being a kishin (former Tekken King) on my first Tekken game
Nothing about this is surprising when the game hand hold you up until Fujin. You can get there with a negative winrate
What do you think about not being demoted after you destruction
what is the point then?
Thank god I’m in Bushin
I can tell you why there is huge gap between TekkenKing and TekkenEmperor - it is because you can get to Bushin and have
i am stack in raijin with dvj
i just cant deal with xiayu, nina and laws
Got to God rank with Raven, its lonely here
What does the first set of data actually show? Is it games played at that rank? Is it unique tekken ID’s that have that rank?
Is this an indicator of how many people have that rank, or is it an indicator of which rank is currently grinding the hardest laugh😅
I got to fujin and quit as well. Explains the chart perfectly. Edit lol @ bussin
Thanks. Yes i mighty ruler and stay like this. Lol
currently hardstuck bushin as an azu player
Well yes - but what about 2nd and 3rd fujin (after you demote back after hitting last blue and king once)
if yoshi was top 5 there’d be a lot more talk about him 🗣️
People saying rank means nothing is orange rank energy
Yea and wow some ones getting it😂
Then they tell you their view of the world thats made up headcanon 😂 fr everytime i tell myself domt care dont write them back i still do its sad and funny
Through beginning of tekken7 till now it made soo many funny stories is unbelievable 1 is some one commenting on a 15 electrics wall splat combo of jin t7 saying its doable with enough practice before while i said i hope u did it with macros rip hands
I knew some thing is fishy and it smells oramge rank energy turns out he was green rank and how to do double electric into mikro dash b f1 (EXTREMLY HARD) he said it just doesnt work... BUT AS I CHECKED HIS VIDEOS HE WAS GREEN RANK THE PAST 5 YEARS yes this is the tekken we people need discuss about wow
We dealing with mental ill.people and its not funny but the truth
I’ve made it to Kishin so far with Reina. I really just wanted to get to Tekken King and then take a break .
That's what I did! Reached TK with King and took a vacation from Tekken till the patch fix
@@Santanazation I’m considering waiting too until the next patch to grind out the rest to Tekken King. I’m looking for nerfs to very problematic characters that are just making the grind more frustrating than it already is on it’s own.
@@Santanazation nerf king
Blue ranks is truly a slug fest
You can be bushin 200k prowess.
Get to tekken king, gain 40-50k prowess.
Now you’re in real blue ranks.
Now you gotta vs Tekken king + players or GOD ranks on their alt characters.
You may actually
Get demoted all the way back to fujin/raijin and have to re climb back up.
The difference between 200k prowess and 250k is ridiculous.
Aii, we need a rank reset RIGHT NOW 😭
And ppl still complain when they lose 1000 points in god rank . God ranks are meant to be the hardest plus who cares you get a instant promo after a Demotion it was never this easy . T7 was way harder and dont get me started with TTT2 cuz after Vanquisher it was a nightmare to even get a Promotion
Ah, yes, the moment i thought i got somewhat decent in this game by getting to fujin it turned out that i'm still barely above average :D
Oh, well, fair enough, actually, for a scrub who, like, eats 4 out of 5 lows (and that means i know that matchup lol) it's a good result, i think
I haven’t played it awhile so when I returned, I noticed all the bad players are now in Fujin.
Do i need to come back and Improve Tekken King rank? Only been demoted 3 times since Tekken 8 launch. I think i'll switch to secondary and go for Tekken God once I've got a second Tekken King.
I grinded for months and made fujin, and now im now average again. Yay.
don't forgot the low ranks are just people using their alt characters because of tekken matchmaking
I got tekken king and I feel like it’s underwhelming I want more
@@jake5059 lol I feel like that’s how Im going to be once I reach it. Im two ranks away. I just know i’m going to keep going
The greed of man 😂
All I ever wanted was to reach Kishin and I would be satisfied. Yesterday, I reached Kishin and I wanted to see how much more I could get.
So, I got demoted...😅
@@BeretBay lmao bro I feel this cause same. Kisin rank and everything. Had to put in extra work to get it back 😂
@@BeretBay keep going man u got it! i demoted from tekken king to raijin, one good day bought me back up to tekken king. you got this!
is this a playstation or steam list?
Damn I stopped playing the game for awhile because of all the games coming out and now this happens. I haven't even made it out of red yet. I got some work to do.
Zafina is one of the most overpowered characters in this game, the win rates, rank pick rates and ranks all prove it, the characters moveset and design prove it but no one will acknowledge it for 2 reasons.
Most players are below the rank zafina becomes common, i.e Tekken god and above.
Zafina mains are among the biggest down players in history and will forever whine about how bad her tools are even if they break the core design principles of the game itself.
She isn't overpowered, you just don't have the mindset to play against her.
@@Pokeysanicyou just proved his point lmaoo 😂😂 not even 30 minutes in yet
The biggest down players in the game got to be Feng players. Haven’t heard much downplaying for Zafina tbh.
@@Pokeysanic Is the mindset not to use mids or highs or slow lows. Because that leaves like 3 moves to play with. And if that's the strategy I wouldn't exactly call that balanced
Zafina gets away with too much bull crap. These sort of characters have plot armor and it's really annoying.
This game has a shit ton of pluggers in endgame ranks. I had about 8 pluggers on my Tekken Emperor promo matches before I finally got Tekken God. Shit was annoying.
